May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

My travel agent called today and convinced us to switch from a 9c- inside room with a large port hole to the 4A family with a verandah when she looked at it with the military deal it came out to $200 more for the two weeks for each of us. After the carnival ship this week it was easy to get my mom to change. To top it all off one of my very good friends who is an avid carnival lover and cruiser booked today on our cruise. I am so very happy. She has an 11 and 14 year old boys, I hope I can get them to join in some of the fun things. She is doing the disney air and staying in Barcelona for two days as well so we should be able to travel the whole time together. :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

And as a side note I was playing around and I am a silver and the web site let me to the check in today, I could not do activities but I guess there is a glitch for doing paperwork. If you are silver and excited this really helps pump up the vacation vibes.:banana::banana::banana:
I don't think I will be doing much sleeping tonight.

Question since ya'll are doing disney air too...we are doing one post night but they told me 2 was not an option unless I did the air deviation. I paid tonight so I doubt I could change anything but hope they did not tell me wrong. I am silver too but didn't try to check in. Off to try. LOL

I didn't have any luck checking in.

Are you doing the hotel with Disney? We booked the room with them as well so that may be the difference. I think it was a little more cost but we wanted the easy way. Good luck.

Yes we booked the room with them as well. So you aren't leaving until the 3rd? and are staying 2 nights? She said she tried to add 2 post nights and couldn't. Do you have to do the air deviation? I wonder if I call back even thought I paid in full will it get me anywhere.

Will your friend ever sail on Carnival again? I try not to judge other cruise lines as being terrible compared to Disney, but they do seem to be having a lot of problems lately :sad2:

I think you can still have them do the deviation. Call. They'll charge you extra, but I don't think it necessarily matters that you're PIF.
Here is the video! Don't mind the commentary. And my work is totally fun, because it is ME (private practice) so I can do whatever I want! Oh, and I think I need another vacation, because we went last JULY, not June hahahahaha.

Wow! And I didn't mind the commentary ;). You should take another Alaskan cruise. I hear the June 16, 2014 sailing will be great :rolleyes1

Yes we are booked two nights we leave on June 3rd. We at the renaissance Barcelona for both nights with no added fee.
My friend had booked on the splendor before its fire and the date ended up being the first sailing after being fixed. She said it was her least favorite ship of then all and would not go on it again. I don't think she has been on another cruise, work conflicts with school schedules. I hope she becomes a Disney fan.

I called again today and they said the 2nd post night isn't available so your friend must have got the last spot. Did she do it yesterday? I am going to keep checking and hope that maybe something comes up. That is what I wanted but didn't want to have to do deviation and pay the fees and the higher airfare. Thanks! I just noticed you are from Rocklin. My brother just moved from there back to Texas!

I have to brag just a little....been trying to loose a little weight (don't blame me if you found it - I really don't need it back!)

I hit my second goal this morning - 20 pounds off!!! I am hoping for another 20 before we sail.

WELL DONE:banana: It's sooo hard, isn't it? I was also hoping to lose around 17pounds before we leave, but I'm stuck at a plateau after losing 53 pounds and also we have a 4 night cruise just a few weeks before this one which won't help. Anyway, hope you reach you next goal, hoping for you.

After we disembark in Barcelona, we plan to stay one night and then fly to Paris for a few days. We are flying Iceland Air from Paris to JFK and taking advantage of their stopover program. Having never traveled in Iceland (we had a short layover there once), we are excited to see a little of the country. I've heard rave reviews.

have you thought about hiring a car? We toured the island a few years ago and driving is a dream, it wasn't cheap if I remember correctly but well worth it.

Congratulations!! :goodvibes

I did a Trader Joe's and Costco run this morning. If anyone is looking for swim suits for the kids, Costco has a great selection of suits and rash guards. :)

I think we have quite a few of us stopping in Iceland. :) We booked our airfare with them last July and snagged a 3-bedroom apartment in town... now that same apartment has gone up $200 per night. I think we snagged it before they realized people would already be booking for the following summer.

Love both of those places! I picked up a couple of swimsuits there. Wish Trader Joe's was between Hobby and Galveston.

Our closest TJ's and Costco are about 30 mins from us so I always try to hit both on the same visit. I love them both!!:cloud9:

Thanks for the information about driving in Iceland. I will look into it. I have also looked at several companies offering day tours. Any recommendations?
