May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

Phew - ticked off a few more arrangements in the past couple of weeks. Travel insurance! That was an important one. Barcelona accommodation - Pullman Barcelona Skipper. LA accommodation (we're breaking up the long trip home with a visit to Disneyland). Now I need to go through my itinerary and figure out what transfers I still need to book, and start my packing list.

Does anyone else love the mens DCL PJ bottoms? One of the reasons I'm looking forward to the cruise is to buy some more to replace the ones I have that are wearing out. They're so comfortable and a nice souvineer :)

I'll be on early dining, but as long as we know how to spot each other (I guess if I miss the first day meet, which I invariably do, we need a secret sign :) )

If you miss Tremont meet and embarkation meet there is the PJ breakfast the first sea day I believe :)

Got the operation date for the lump in my neck - its 6 days after we get back! Will only have 2 days back at work from my holiday, then this op.

Still waiting for a date for my big bladder surgery, which will be sometime around August/September time, or so I'm led to believe.

And also, just to make it a really good year, I've got to have surgery to have a wisdom tooth removed, as the nerve has died and there has been a massive infection apparently, and they don't want it to take the teeth next to it with it. I could have had this done with sedation/local anaesthetic, however I am a massive coward where dental work is concerned (I burst into tears in the chair last week when she told me I needed the tooth extracted because I'm such a scaredy cat), so she gave me the option of sedation or general anaesthetic, and I chose general!

Am really glad I've got this holiday to look forward to, and that I moved from the Med cruise in August I had originally booked, as I'm pretty sure some of the surgery would have clashed with that. The neck and tooth ones are kind of minor really, or as minor as surgery can be under general anaesthetic. The bladder one is a biggie though, with a weeks stay in hospital, 6-8 weeks recovery etc, so pretty scary.

Sending positive thoughts your way.

Do you play songpop on ipod/ipad? I love that app!

I love that game. I play it all the time on Facebook and my iPad.

My husband is wearing the Disney ones from the Disney Store. Not sure if they are the same or not (these are the ones he has on), but he loves them.

Last day for signing up for Secret Mickey!!!!

Join us, send me a pm.

They are really nice, I am hoping I will find some of the current sale items from the Disney Store in the outlets when we are over because the shipping to the UK is a ridiculous price!

I'm shocked they don't have a shipping center over there. It seems short sighted of them as there must be a big market.

I have a pair of the jammies that I bought on our first DCL cruise and I love them, but they went way up in price by the time we went on our second cruise. I paid $30 in 2011 and the same set were $40 the following year. I actually like the ones I bought online better. I got these and I bet they are in the outlets!

I can't recall if I mentioned it on here or on FB but for the past 10 weeks I've been participating in my gym's "Lose to Win" program (similar to the Biggest Loser) and Weight Watchers. Anyway, I've lost over 18lbs and I earned 2nd place in the Lose to Win, winning $750. I'm very proud of my weight loss and excited that I've increased my fitness level and endurance. The money is pretty awesome too... extra vacation money!! :cheer2:

I will be thinking of you. Yes, the stars all aligned so you could be with us on this sailing!

Cool!!! :thumbsup2

I haven't been trying to lose pounds per se, but I have been trying to lose belly fat using Dr. Oz's plan. Three greek yogurts a day is not convenient or fun (and I think it tastes like chalk), but it seems to be making a big difference. Thankfully, my experiment ends (after 12 weeks) when we embark.

Way to go, Henrietta! :dance3:

Well done kaseyC!

Not having a great day -came down with a sore throat last night, slept dreadfully and still hurting a lot today so didn't go to work.

Burnt something in the microwave (yes really!) to a char and it has stunk out my house with a horrid burning smell.

Dropped a massive glass jar of chutney from the fridge which of course smashed all over my kitchen floor.

My printer ink ran out halfway through printing something for fish extender gifts.

On the brightside - throat now feels a lot better, so should be at work tomorrow.

Our new foster cat came out of hiding today, after not really seeing him since he arrived on Thursday. He is an adorable Tabby cat with 3 legs called Spike, and he likes a bit of fuss once he gets over his shyness! Having a cuddle with Spike made me forget what a crappy day I was having. :)

Hope your day is going a little better than mine! :lmao:

Pets have a way of making things seem better! Glad there was an improvement.

I'm always up for the 80s and usually do pretty well - UK was the place for 80s music and I was in my youth at the time hence spent most Sunday's with a tape recorder trying to 'edit' out the spoken bits between the tracks :)

70s not so hot on, but still not to bad. Have to remember those tunes my parents were playing when I was a child....

Anyway, I always try and hook up with other at the trivia. Particular someone from the US as it fills some gaps in my knowledge, although I managed to beat a 687 full of American travelling companions in the last TV Tune Trivia even though they were all (bar 1) US TV Shows. Too much wasted time in front of the gogglebox.

We were the bar team on the EBTA 2011 we did really well on 50's 80's and 90's so will definitely be up for the music quizzes. See you there Mike and Tracy xx
