We used Disney Air in 2011 on the same cruise & they used Delta. We found out our flight info about 75 days prior. We had only one connection in Atlanta, they did a wonderful job!

Did your airfare include the fees for luggage or did you have to pay that separately. Are you using them again? They told me a much lower notice...I can't remember but they said if I didn't like it, I could pay $75 per person and find something else.

What is the rent a princess? Saw that and was wondering.

All the children are invited to a Prince and Princess tea usually during the longer cruises. (We are assuming one will occur on EBTA like previous transatlantic cruises, and there has been no cost in the past.). They are each able to bring 2 adults, in which they receive two tickets for after requesting them ... PER child. The only way an adult may attend is to escort a child. On previous cruises there were several adults that wanted to go to the tea, so people asked to "borrow" a child that might have room for another adult to escort them.

Say a couple had 2 children, each child being able to bring 2 adults, so that is 4 adults allowed but only 2 parents on the cruise... so the parents would let 2 other adults join them. It was so fun and those interested got to spend a little time with the pretty Princesses and Princes. Admission is by ticket only, and the parents would need to give the tickets to the "fairy godmothers" prior to entering. It was held in Lumiere's on a sea day.

The coordinator of this event basically keeps a chart of who is planning on obtaining tickets (parents of children onboard) and who will take their leftover tickets (adults traveling without young children).

We did this - and our "rent a fairy godmothers" gave our girls cute gifts that day. It was so sweet!

Yes we had to pay luggage fees. You can pay a deviation fee but we can't fly direct to STL anyway. I thought they did a great job with the flights.

I doubt my DD will even want to go to the princess tea. If you don't have to have the child with you, we'll probably have 2 adult tickets & 1 child someone can use.

I don't know - mine were aged 5 and 15 months and both received tickets last time. I tried searching but have not come across an age

I've noticed I'm the only singleton on the palo brunch I've signed up to, so please can everyone else that day talk to me! Have never done palo before precisely because I'm on my own, so now slightly paranoid!

Today I've started on my fish extender gifts which has really got me excited about the cruise.

Wednesday I am DEFINITELY starting my diet - I need to get pancake day out of the way tomorrow, then thats it!

I didn't even realize that you were the only singleton on the first brunch. I just filled the slots as the PMs came in. I believe Mandy's MIL is in your group as well. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable, I will change places with you or I could also PM Kirbo and see if she and her DH would like to move to the first group and then move you to the second group. Let me know if you want to change, I'm sure we can arrange something.

I'll do whatever anyone wants. We're easy and both groups look like loads of fun.

Hi, looking forward to traveling on my first Disney cruise. This isn't my first cruise by any means, or my first Disney adventure. My daughter WVU Runner has set me up for all the exciting events. I am not the best with the computer so now she is teaching me how to use the Disboards. So we will see how it goes. Looking forward to cruising with everyone.

Yay! My parents are also onboard (but not part of the DIS), so it's glad to see more grandparents joining!

My folks (who are divorced from one another) and my aunt and uncle will be joining us for the second leg of our trip, the Med. Really looking forward to that

Did anyone book thru Disney for Air back home? I was worried that you don't find out what airline till right before the cruise. Has anyone done this cruise and used Disney air before?

We booked Disney Air and I am trying to be about the whole thing. We have no experience with them for airfare.

For those of you who do yearly (or more often) dermatologist appointments for skin cancer checks -- let me suggest that if you are due before the cruise, schedule it at least a month prior to leaving for Galveston.

I went back on Friday just for a mole that bothered me (my normal appts are Dec and May). Figured it was just clothes rubbing it. I learned today the biopsy showed it was pre-melanoma so I am returning to get wider margins cut. That means stitches (about 3 inches) for two weeks in my shoulder. So from figuring your checkup, waiting for any biopsy results, then scheduling a follow-up if a biopsy comes back funky... just thought I would throw that out there for planning purposes. I had another one of these last spring right before our trip to the USVI - literally had stitches removed the day before our flight out. This time my stitches will come out 2 weeks before we leave for Costa Rica.

I am very thankful it was not full melanoma like hubby has had, and thankful it can just be cut out by catching it early. My regular 6-month appt is in early May, and after this impromptu visit, it made me rethink that early May appointment's scheduling.

And for those of you not doing yearly dermatology checkups (and monthly self skin exams), please consider it. It might just save your life! And pack your sunscreen, wide brim hat, etc for this fabulous cruise!!

Prayers that all is well! I go yearly for a full body dermatology check but I know a lot of people don't and it's a very important one to do. I've have a few spots removed as well but thank goodness they came back negative!!!

And funny you said "cruise director". We have taken our family on two group cruises of about 20-ish of us. The first of which was the first cruise (and first flight) for most involved. I felt like a mother duck.


Seriously - by working together as a DIS group, we are able to help one another out, share experiences and tidbits, and help make this the best vacation ever for everyone involved. Life is way too short on this planet IMHO, so be positive and help all you can.

Hi, looking forward to traveling on my first Disney cruise. This isn't my first cruise by any means, or my first Disney adventure. My daughter WVU Runner has set me up for all the exciting events. Not trying to be snooty, but can someone tell me the big draw of CC for someone that is not landlocked? I do not expect most beaches to rival ours, but if there is something special I should know about, I am always open. I love the beach and the water. Just won't be "wowed" by the prospect of snorkeling with some fish (since I can do that 365 days a year).

Right now we are planning to do the paddle boats and trikes. The boys are too young for wave runners.

OK - way to make me jealous while I am on my way to work on a snowy, grey morning in a horrible city! Lol

Checking into the new thread! It's 9.45pm here, and if I was on the Magic right now, I'd be relaxing in the cabin before heading to the piano bar for cocktails and tunes. One thing I really enjoyed on the Panama Canal cruise was having time to enjoy the evening entertainment til it closed down, without burning the candle at both ends and feeling I had to be up first thing in the morning too to get my money's worth. I'm a morning lark..except when on holiday

Thanks for your flexibility. As I said I would be willing to move too. I can be quite chatty as well and will talk to anyone and everyone. At the Palo Brunch, though I may be so busy stuffing my face that talking may be difficult!!
