May 18, 2013 Magic EBTA Part Two - From Tejas to España

party: Are you celebrating an event onboard?

Please reply within this thread (not a PM) and I will add to post #1 and our personal DIS navigator! Wedding anniversary? Birthday? First Cruise? If you have an exact date of the celebration, please include it and I will add it on our calendar of events for that date. Otherwise it will be added as an additional "Celebrations" just below the calendar. I have added celebrations to a different rollcall I am helping with, and I know some people book cruises to celebrate end of chemo, kicking cancer in the rear, etc -- so if you have something to celebrate you would like to share, just reply and I will keep a list to add to post #1! :goodvibes

I will be celebrating my XXth ;) birthday on May 26. Certainly will be a different celebration than in previous years!

Ahhhh!!! So you must stop by at the conclusion of Champagne Girls so we can give you a "different rendition" of the Happy Birthday song post-champagne! ::yes::

We live in Thibodaux, which is between New Orleans and Baton Rouge but south.

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many from Louisiana on the cruise. My husband sure mixes his Cajun food - we were on the Magic in December and they had crawfish At the Palo brunch, my dh was so excited- the server brought him a nice big plate when he saw how fast he was eating them. Hopefully they will have them again, we never saw them on the Fantasy.

Can't wait to meet you all!

My Mom was also born near Frankfurt on a US Military Base.

Okay lets see if I can spell this right..... Was she born in the American hospital in Wiesbauden? Thats where I was born.

Okay so about the over door organizer...

Are y'all planning to use the hook thingies on the wall (I think the Magic has three in a row?) with zip ties or other fasteners, hang them on the shower curtain rod, the closet, or ???

The extent of the information I know on my Mom's birth was that she was born in Germany while my Grandfather was stationed there. So I called my Mom to get the info and discovered not everyone is awake before 6am (opps, sorry Mom). She wasn't sure what hospital she was born in but was going to look into it when she woke up.

My Mom was up late last night playing Bunco, should I be concerned my Mom has a better social life than I do????:confused3

Hahaha! Reminds me of the Subaru commercials where the adult daughter is lamenting her assumption of her parents' lack of fun and friends, interspersed with the parents off-roading and biking to the top of vistas with a pile of friends along for the ride. My kids are always astounded when I turn them down for the "opportunity" to babysit at the drop of a hat, just because I have other (many) plans!!! Life is good. :car:

Meredith's birthday is May 18th (I'm not saying how old I am)
Tyler's 9th birthday is June 8th ( I think we are going to try celebrating it on the 29th)
And Tim and I's 13 year anniversary is on June 9th ( we have a dinner at Palo's to celebrate this on 20th)

Very similar to our stuff! Our girls turn nine on June 9th and we celebrate our 16th anniversary on June 22 :dance3:

I keep going back and forth on it, but at the moment, I am going to ask if there are any and if there are, I'll entertain the notion. $$ dependent I guess. I'll be OK with my 10C if there aren't any.
We are feeling exactly the same way about our 10C. We'll check, but if the money is too dear, we'll stick with the 10C.

After thinking about it (thanks Kirbo for your musings), we are switching to the main dining as well. The boys normally go to sleep at 6:30 (yes, 6:30! :thumbsup2), so even though we are gaining an hour, I think we are pushing it by expecting them to have any type of manners by 9:00 haha. They can do shows, the Lab, etc. in the evening, but I think food should come first.

Also, I have 23 adults and 11 kids for the Til We Meet Again Luncheon. I know there are more out there! :goodvibes
Yeah, it just struck me that it's too late for our early family. DH and I get up at 5am most days, including the weekends. We also all go to bed early.

Alright so it will be him and me for skivvies breakfast at 9:30 at our own table than ;)

I don't know what we're going to do :headache:

She *is* coming to Bunco onboard, right? :goodvibes
She is and is thrilled that I will playing for the first time. When I think of Bunco, I picture my mom's friends drinking wine coolers and screaming/laughing in the house while I was trying to go to bed. Though one time, they spiked my sprite with a little bit of wine cooler (it was a "big deal" for the 16 yo). I am going to have to bring wine coolers now for this event! (dont worry, it will be in a cup so DCL won't know)

I know that commercial, it was a good one! I just like to think it is because my Mom doesn't work so she doesn't need to be there by 7am and not my lack of friends/ soical events.

I'm bringing zip ties and will find SOMETHING to tie mine too. I'm not sure I can manage two weeks with all that little stuff lying around!!! DD and DH are what I call surface abusers and they just throw their stuff everywhere it'll drive me crazy. You may just see my over door organizer hanging in the atrium if all else fails LOL:lmao:

I guess we could say we'll be celebrating my bday. It's May 4th!! I'll be 25 again!

Yesterday I checked our information on the Disney cruise site. It was unsettling to see someone else's port excursions, Palo reservations, etc. on our reservation. I called Disney and learned that, because we have linked dining, we can now see the details of reservations that are linked to ours for dining only.
