~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~
Ok, so good news :dance3: , Yoni officially got the new job and starts on Monday! :banana: :banana: :banana: Not as "relieved" as I should be -- still think it will take some time to shake off the stress AND I don't think we will shake off the "thrify" bug anytime soon, but that is a good thing. ;) So, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers! :grouphug: You guys really are the BEST!!!!
:banana: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2:
YAY!!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS!!!
He does get time off for the cruise, doesn't he?!?! :scared:
More goodness -- we are officially switched to Main Dining! Yoni is playing poker tonight so will take Jane's spreadsheet and work out all the linked ressies (with kids, without kids, etc). Woo Hoo!
Another yay! Did you call and request or were you waitlisted and saw it was changed on your reservation?
Let me know when you get it done, and I'll post it on #1 for future reference.
Hello everyone!!! im back!
Welcome back, Andy!! We were just talking about you!
:banana: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2:
He does -- and if he doesn't, WE GO WITHOUT HIM! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
No seriously, they know about the Disney trip. He may have to work the Friday we are there from the hotel (the 15th) but that is why we are at the Swan. Figure me and the kids can bum around the pool, the putt putt and the Boardwalk area....
When we rebooked to take advantage of the KHO deal, I had my TA request a 6:00 seating. We were waitlisted and I just noticed today we are listed as Main dining. Hopefully that means we are good for 6:00 but either way, should work out!
I have a cocktail party to go to :rolleyes1 then will search the board when I get back while Yoni plays poker to see who wants to link up ressies. Once I figure out who wants to link with whom and when, will post it for double-check by the group!
lol, Textfinn FBed me and told me I was being missed! :rotfl:
but now i have to go to my 2nd job!!! So talk to you all later!!!!!:surfweb:
Andy -- you were missed! Do you want wrist bands? Make sure you let Amanda know! Have fun at work....
Congratulations to Yoni! I knwo that has to be a big relief for your family!:cool1:
I have an interesting situation and I'm curious if any of you have death with it... Due to a 2 year history of an abnormal toenail and lots of "flare-ups" over this time, I bit the bullet and decided to deal with it today. (Mostly because the redness was pretty impressive today and the pain woke me up from a very deep sleep this morning. AND I could get into my podiatry collegue's office easily today.... It helps to be a doctor who shares OR block time with a podiatry group...:) ) So I went in, talked to him, and decided that the only hope of me ever wearing sandals again was to remove the nail. Plus, it shouldn't be waking me up in the middle of the night anymore! I let him permanently remove the nail (ouch) today in the office.
So...here's my question. Have any of you ever dealt with putting a "fake" nail over the toenail bed and then snorkelling and stuff? :confused: I can deal with acrylic nail "stickers," but I'm worried that it may fall off during snorkelling and stuff... I guess I'll have to see if I can take some spares, otherwise I'll be missing a left great toenail...
I just figured that I'd better deal with this sooner as opposed to having a serious problem on vacation (which has already happened once)...
Awwww.....Belinda, you are sooo sweet! I may just buy me a pair of SPANX and wear that Hoochi Mama dress (ladies, be warned):laughing: :laughing: :laughing:
Spank work great. I used a pair last year when I was the matron of honor in my sister in law's wedding. I'm not sure that I'll being them on the cruise though because I want to eat alot and not be all shoved into a little pair of shorts.
(17) Where is the best place to eat lunch on embarkation?
I will follow my trip director daughter...
That's funny, it sounds exactly like something my mom would say.
Hello everyone!!! im back!
Welcome back stranger. Your job sounds really interesting.
I let him permanently remove the nail (ouch) today in the office.
Ouch that sounds really painful! At least you'll have relief in the future!:scared:
Wow -- we were all the way on page 2! :scared1:
That is excellent news! Now we just have to work on our Alison! Can you tell, I am trying to get all my initial messages over with...
Carol when in 2001 did you go?? Cause I did the Eastern Caribbean in Nov 2001 and we couldn't dock at Castaway Cay either! Too windy....
That was why we booked again for the next year
It was the November 7th sailing. Pretty soon after 9/11... The main reason why the trip was so inexpensive and we could afford to go...
Carole
Morning JorDan! I missed this yesterday. I LOVE Jillian from the BL. My trainer at the gym just tried out for BL (as a trainer) but no luck -- oh well, she is my Jillian.;)
I never miss that show! Of course that is when I have my evening snack too!
Loucinda -- you are so good! I am working on that now. Especially being on a much much tighter budget, going to get a few things here and there until it all adds up. Since Yoni is out of work, I am going to have him work on our FE gifts too!
I am having trouble coming up with something I am happy with. Hope I get some real inspiration soon!
Shawan -- I LOVE the Cheesecake Factory. Oddly enough, I NEVER eat their cheesecake! I went there for lunch on Tuesday and my "lunch" portion was big enough for lunch AND dinner
OK... Since she hasn't owned up to it yet, I will spill the beans... Amanda works across the street from the Cheesecake Factory! I do not think it was nice to put a Gold's Gym between she and the restaurant though.
One more to go...:woohoo: Carole
Wristbands? Whats on the wristbands? Yeah we want in..how much? and how do we get them?
Yip that was it!!! How crazy!!
Another crazy thing about that cruise...my Husband was on a Princess Cruise the exact same time, to the Eastern Caribbean. We didn't know each other then. But we have all the same pictures of St. Maarten and St. Thomas.
That's too funny we were on the same cruise! :yay:
Fantastic news!!!! I know that has taken a ton of worry off of you, it will take a little time to stop thinking of how much things cost and trying to budget when possible (but hey that can be a good thing too).
Hello everyone!!! im back!
Good to have you back! Check out post 1564 on page 105 to see Crystal's post about the wrist bands (it will be an easy way for us to identify each other).
I've never had to deal with a toenail so can't help you with that issue, but I'm glad you were able to take care of it in time for you to heal before the trip.
We made a run for Downtown Disney and had no trouble getting back in plenty of time.:headache: :yay:
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that with Jim (so I could buy some treats for the kids and friends back home at Goofy's Kitchen but he wants to try something different (read non-Disney).
Sorry but no personal experience to speak from other than OUCH! Justin has lost each of his big toenails due to injuries (at different times), and I know he was in a lot of pain with those. Of course when they grew back, they became persistently ingrown, so he has had the sides permanently reduced--but not the entire nail. :scared: Better to get it taken care of now instead of right before the cruise! I'm having a procedure done in 2 weeks, and I'm scared I'm pushing it too close to cruise time to know the final result. Even though I've been trying to get it done since before our last cruise 2 years ago, I'm still pushing the timeframe on it. :sad2:
He does -- and if he doesn't, WE GO WITHOUT HIM! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
:rotfl2:
Whew!! That's a relief!! At least you're able to still have fun while he works, which should show his new employer that he's serious about his new job...just hope they don't expect him to do it every time, right?!?! :laughing:
WTG!! :thumbsup2 If there's still main dining available for new reservations, I wonder if others on waitlist have been switched, too...
How was the party? And the poker? Big winnings for Yoni?!?! ;)
You're almost there!!!! :goodvibes
OMG!! That is TOO weird!! And the fact that your husband was there at the same time!!
I'm posting this reminder because I would be freaking out in this situation, too. I haven't checked yet this morning (had to come here first!) to see what has happened overnight, but there were several posts from a frantic mom on the main cruise board about how she couldn't find her daughter's birth certificate, AND THEY'RE LEAVING ON SUNDAY!! Without it, they can't board the ship. :sad: So...here's a reminder for EVERYONE (me included) to FIND YOUR DOCUMENTATION (passport, bc, etc.) in plenty of time--like NOW--so you're not rushing last minute to find it!!! I even heard about a similar sitatuion on Gayle King's show on Oprah Radio on XM the other day when her son was leaving for a cruise the next day, and he called her because he couldn't find his passport. Gayle ended up having it at her house, and he was potentially going to miss the cruise, until her daughter decided to fly it to him at the last minute. Now I'm going to go to the main thread to find out what happend...
WOW!! Thats a fantastic idea! Ash and I are in on that idea for sure!! Do we know what its going to say, or look like? We are going to want at least 2!!pirate:
The wrist bands are going to be neon green (glow in the dark).
They are going to say:
DIS Key Lime Pie-rates (outside)
DCL May 16, 2009
I think we are going to go with the walt font. Let me know if you want some. The cost is up in the air...kinda depends of how many people want one, but around $1 each
Thats great!!:hippie: As long as there not $10 a band then we want 3 of them. :laughing: (If we can get 3, if not 2 would be fine) Is it one size fits all? I have larger hands and wrists... :rolleyes1
Great reminder! Just this morning I sat down at the computer and began my packing list. I know, I know, even Jim looked at his watch and said "how many days before the trip are we?" but I do much better if I just start a list so that I can stop worrying about what I have and what I need to shop for. I've also started my "To Do" list. I know exactly where our passports are but if I don't put it on the list I'll forever worry that I'll forget to pack them.
Got to run and take Steven to a train show then we are going for a 2 mile walk with the dog (building up endurance for WDW). :banana:
Hope everyone has a great Saturday!!!
Jane
Hi Val -- I hope everything is ok? Get as much done now just in case....we want you well rested and healthy by the cruise!
Whew!! That's a relief!! At least you're able to still have fun while he works, which should show his new employer that he's serious about his new job...just hope they don't expect him to do it every time, right?!?! :laughing:
He informed me last night that he won't be working that Friday either :banana: I am still thinking we may be better off not hitting a park that day. I would love to go to DTD and enjoy the pools.....we also have reservations that Friday night at Il Mulino and for the kids at the kids club. You get 2 hours free per kid at the kids club and THEY FEED THE KIDS! That is $40 savings on the babysitting AND well, you know how expensive even kids can be to eat at WDW! I figured, they are paying us to go out to dinner! :rotfl:
How was the party? And the poker? Big winnings for Yoni?!?! ;)
Ummmm....party was a bit too much fun :rolleyes1 . Yoni didn't go play poker, he was tired. He is going to play tonight. I have a friend coming over to enjoy some bubbly and watch a movie -- Vicky Christina Barcelona (I think that is the name). Should be fun.
I saw that!!!:scared1: Can you imagine???? We have all 4 passports already. Yoni got them out of the safety deposit box. I renewed mine a month ago and the rest are fine with expiration so we are good to go! :woohoo:
I need to go check the main thread too and see what happened!
Ok -- so, ummm, already feeling better about Yoni's job, ummm....went shopping this morning. :rolleyes1 I got to Kohl's power hours and bought Kai a new swimsuit and both some shorts. They were CHEAP and I had an additional 15% off!!! I also made it to the Disney store. They had the sunglasses and flip flops at 2 for $8 so Kai got lucky and got 1 of each in Wall-E for the cruise. He also scored a clearance Wall-E t-shirt. I got one of the big Mickey bags for $4 to use as a beach bag! Yeah, I know, I need to close my pocket book back up but ---welllllll, it was so much fun to SHOP!!!:dance3:
So, my house is a wreck and still need to go to HEB (our local grocery store). I hope you guys are having a good day!
