“Promise me you'll never forget me because if I thought you would I'd never leave.”
-Winnie the Pooh

Favorite music/singers: Van Halen, Michael Buble, Taylor Swift, Diamond Rio, Broadway musicals (particularly those from Michael Crawford), etc. Basically, I enjoy most music short of Ganster Rap!

Some things you might not know: I've had a green iguana for 13 years (assuming she makes it 6 more days)! I've spent years of training and education so that hopefully one day I'll be able to take my extended family and a few very close friends on trips all over the world. One of my favorite activities in life is wading down a quiet, sandy-bottomed river in south Georgia in the spring, cane-pole fishing with my Grandfather who is 87 years young!

Reason I love Disney: Everything they do is first class!

Favorite Disney Rides: The Kilimajaro Safari at AK, Tower of Terror at HS, Peter Pan and Splash Mountain at MK. Adam's favorites are Haunted Mansion and Star Tours.

Favorie Disney Treat: Custom dipped apples at the candy shop at MK or DTD! White chocolate covered rice crispy mickey head treats are a close second!

Favorite Disney song: Humm....I own the entire CD anthology! I really like "Once Upon a Dream," the theme from Beauty and the Beast, the "chef" song from Little Mermaid (Sorry...can't spell it! Le P?), and "Just a Spoonful of Sugar Helps the Medicine Go Down," or whatever that song is called!

Favorite Disnery Memory: Getting back onto the ship in Cozumel covered in mud and downright dirty after dune-buggying in the rain and sampling too much Mezcal! (We got some strange looks, though we were NOT drunk!)

For Val, Mati, Jane and anyone else planning... Here are our interests and plans...

Saturday: Meet at the shuttle from the Radisson and later meet at Promenade Lounge at 3 (as planned).
Sunday: Hopefully meet up with the group for KLP at some point. I plan to have my cell on me that day.
Monday: High tea IF I can get it when we board the ship. Tastings with the group. (Adam and I both will do the martinis, he will do the beer, and I'll do the tequila.)
Tuesday: No group activities. We will probably get off the boat and snorkel out to the Cali Wreck, then head back to the boat early. We have Palo planned as well.
Wednesday: Pirate night... No costumes for us (though maybe a special t-shirt or something).
Thursday: Any tastings not done on Monday.
Friday: Hang out at the Snorkel beack and Serenity Bay. Go to the Til We Meet Again show.

I kind of put this together for a door magnet idea and I'm now thinking it would make a fun t-shirt. I contacted a company today that makes custom shirts just to get a price. I would ideally like to change the "green" in the picture to more of a bright "heather" green as opposed to this "light olive" green that I currently have.

If you think you might want a t-shirt, please let me know. I have to have at least 6 to get them done as a group (and Adam and I will be 2 of them).

What do you think?

Ok.......

Sorry about the delay (just when you think your craft room is stocked full- its not!)

 Yes we would love shirts (or I least I would) but that would be five for my family. And usually the more you order the less the shirts cost. Let me know what you decide.

OMG my computer crashed the night I made my last post here!!:headache: Just when I got caught up on reading all the posts on this thread, now I'm way behind again! The Geek Squad have my computer and will for the week so I'm on a borrowed laptop right now :sad2: I was so happy I caught up here and getting excited about all our activities when "POOF"; computer gone! They think it's a virus trying to load but my security won't let it; just won't let me connect to the internet. They hopefully can clean everything out and I'll be back on a regular basis the end of this week! Hope to catch up with you all!:thumbsup2

"

I'm wondering if Justin will join, too! I'll suggest it for him and see what happens...

Tony has joined so now you have to get Justin in there . . . he is the lone man at the minute!!!:rotfl:

OK . . .

Name: Sonya Garland

Age: 31

From: UK, 100 miles "up" from London

Family: DH Tony, 2 spoilt dogs, Wilbur and Milly

Fav Disney Character(s): Eeyore, any of the Pooh characters, then Tinkerbelle, who won a place in my heart after the divine Tinkerbelle movie!

Profession: I work in Local Government. I'm a PA for a manager.

Most Bizarre Talent(s): My ability to look like I'm listening, when really I'm dreaming of Disney

Hobbies: Reading, shopping, exercising, vacation planning, cooking and baking, anything Disney

Dream Job: Wedding planner. or work in the Magic Kingdom in some capacity. I also love the idea of a doggy daycare, which someone mentioned earlier!

Fav Quote: "Those who live within their means suffer a lack of imagination" - Oscar Wilde (I use that statement as reason to keep booking vacations I cant afford)

"No matter how bad things seem, nothing could be worse than being used as a towel rail" - Eeyore

Favorite music/singers: Celine Dion. (sorry :rotfl: )

Some things you might not know: I am a trained aerobic instructor, but didn't enjoy it very much as I prefer people shouting at me to keep me going, not the other way around!

Reason I love Disney: The happy feeling it gives me, whether I'm there or just thinking about it. Even seeing the drawing of the castle at the start of movies makes me feel like I am looking at my "home"

Favorite Disney Rides: Dumbo and the Haunted Mansion.

Favorite Disney Treat: Anything from Ghirerdellis (we can count that as Disney, right?! If not the icecream cookie sandwich from Main St bakery. Edited - to add in the No Way Hose from Beaches N Cream - how could I have forgotton that?!

Favorite Disney song: "When You Wish Upon a Star" - I walked down the aisle to it at our wedding. Followed by "great big Beautiful Tomorrow" from Carousel of Progress - we always go there after lunch on Mk days for a nap!!!!

Favorite Disney Memory: First time we went back in 1988 my nan and grandad came with us. I remember being on the monorail towards MK, and going through the Contemporary on it, and looking down and seeing people eating Mickey toast! Toast with a mouse on it, and a train that went through a hotel - I was blown away and we hadn't even got to the parks! And my nanny was standing with me which makes the memory even more precious.

Name: Matilde (Mati) Pitkanen

Age: 38

From: Austin, TX (I have lived here most of my life. I have also lived in Raleigh & Helsinki)

Family: Husband Joni "Yoni" (34), Daughter – Sabrina (7), Son -- Kai (4) + Dog Cuervo (8 months)

Fav Disney Character(s): I feel in love with Disney after watching the Little Mermaid on the big screen -- so for that, Ariel is probably my favorite. I also love Eeyore but am trying hard to be more like Tigger....... and of course who can resist Mickey & Minnie?

Profession: Product Manager for an Enterprise Software Company, also have a direct sales business -- Entertaining at Home -- which is on the backburner for awhile

Most Bizarre Talent(s): Umm...I am pretty untalented. I can wiggle my ears and my nose & can turn my elbows almost all the way around? Kind of sad? I do have a knack for sniffing out the best bargain (for example, taking advantage of the KHO offer last week) but otherwise, not so talented *sigh*

Hobbies: Like everyone on here -- DISboards have become almost an obsession. I am a vacation junkie too and already starting to plan our Christmas trip to London & Finland. I cut coupons (yes, I am a geek) and love to cook but am not all that good at it. I also have a habit of taking on these challenges just to prove to myself I can do them (Triathalon, Marathon).

Dream Job: Motivational Speaker -- helping young adults understand they can be whatever they want to be OR THEATRE STAR -- yes, I will admit it, would LOVE to be a STAR on Broadway!

Fav Quote: Disney Quote -- Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh!" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?" "Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you." Life Quote -- "Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't, you're right" -- Henry Ford

Favorite music/singers: I like a lot of different music (POP, Country, Classical, some Rock) but what I am listening to the most is what I call my "calming" music (Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Sade, Norah Jones, etc).

Some things you might not know: I am Mexican American or Tejano as some would say. I speak some Spanish but unfortunately am not fluent although, the more I drink, the more fluent I become! Both of my kids look like Yoni (light brown hair, light skin, blue eyes) so I look like the "nanny" by contrast. My father on the other hand looks like Papi (Dora the Explorer's father). I am the middle of three girls and suffer a bit from the Jan Brady syndrome. I speak some Finnish -- enough for it to be mine and Yoni's secret language (come on, how many people in the world speak Finnish!)

Reason I love Disney: It is an escape -- a different place where all the pieces of the world come together. I love the magic of Disneyworld and how it makes me feel like I am a kid again.

Favorite Disney Rides: Let's see -- MK -- Space Mountain, AK -- Expedition Everest, HS -- RNR Coaster. See a theme? I LOVE roller coasters. I haven't ridden much at Epcot. I was pregnant the last time I was there (with Sabrina) and didn't visit Epcot last year with the kids. We will go this time for sure!!!
Favorite Disney Treat: I don't think I have one which means -- I need to EAT MORE in the parks next time!

Favorite Disney song: "Part of your World" -- from the Little Mermaid. I also love "Circle of Life" from the Lion King -- it gives me the chills every time I hear it. Also of course, Hakuna Matata & the theme from Lilo & Stitch where she is swimming in the water.

Favorite Disney Memory: Last year -- at HS, we were at the Character lunch and the kids had a BLAST dancing with Leo & June from Little Einsteins. Both kids got up front and sang, danced, and just had a BLAST! I think I also love the joy the kids had on the Tea Cup ride at MK with Yoni. The smile on all three faces was priceless!

WOW!! it sounds like there are alot of fun couples/families on this trip. We just booked and i am exstatic. This will be our second disney cruise- we have been on a few other cruise lines- but Disney has been the best!
Everyone has so much posted- i hope to read all 100 pages- i hope i can find the time before may 16th! I am interested in meeting up with others once aboard. We did this on our last disney cruise but it was only a 4 day cruise and my son was still in flounders nursery- so we were not able to do much with everyone. We are party people- and my husbands birthday is the 17th- the day in key west- we plan on hitting duvall- the more the merrier (or the crazier) is usually our saying- so maybe we could all have a big toast for his birthday! Or a few!:sulley: :tinker: ::MinnieMo :tigger:

Ok...here's the deal. I learned today that most companies cannot print pictures of Disney characters second to some very strict copyright rules. So, I'm going to try to get this done some other way but I may or may not be successful.
