Well, let me just start by telling you that "DIS withdrawl" is NOT fun! Oh, the sweating, the shaking, the vomiting...I wouldn't recommend it! (Yes, I'm just kidding...no vomiting in my house!)

Anyway, I'm back to see what I've missed out on in the last two days!
Here is one that the Dream Jobbers used to start getting to know each other...add on more if you think of any!
Name: Val Pfenning
Age: 35
From: Grand Island, Nebraska (Justin & I were both born & raised here and will never leave)
Family: Married to Justin (38) and sons Hudson (7) and Lennon (5.5)
Fav Disney Character(s): All Cars characters (mostly McQueen, Mater, Guido-"peeet stop!", Doc Hudson, Sally--it just keeps going), Woody's Roundup Gang (Woody, Jesse, and Bullseye--obviously NOT Prospector

), Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie. I have to go way back in my memory bank, too, because I haven't watched any "princess" movies since I don't think the boys would be into them, but I do remember liking Ariel when it first came out (back when I was in HIGH SCHOOL!

)
Profession: Owner of a home-based medical transcription company, FT mom, and Mary Kay beauty consultant
Most Bizarre Talent(s): wiggle my ears

Guess I'm not very talented!
Hobbies: TV, DIS, scrapbooking (is that it? I'm pretty boring!).
Dream Job: Hmmmm...I think I've got it. Being able to work at home but rearrange my schedule to fit my family activities (unless I get more work than I want for the day...then I'm cursing it.) I guess I'm lucky to have the job(s) that I do with this sucky economy...
Fav Quote:
Favorite music/singers: David Cook! Really, most anything besides country. Justin has really gotten me into lots of new stuff lately. We used to LOVE Squizz channel on XM, but now they've switched it to Octane (from Sirius), and it's just not the same (not "heavy" enough).
Some things you might not know: Well, I'm obviously willing to tell complete strangers anything and everything about myself, so I really don't think there's anything I haven't told you yet. I'm glad you're my friends now and not strangers anymore!
Reason I love Disney: The good feeling you get.
Favorite Disney Rides: Ok, so now it's confession time. The only Disney trip I've had before our cruise 2 years ago was when I was 12ish. From what I can remember, Space Mountain was my favorite.
Favorie Disney Treat: Considering the info above, I have to go with something from the cruise, which would probably be any of the desserts. (Sorry I'm flunking out on these last few Q's!)
Favorite Disney song: Justin's mom sang "A Whole New World" from Aladdin on our wedding day, so that's obviously a fave. I also love the entire Cars soundtrack. Guess I'd have to go through my DVD's to jog my memory.
Favorite Disnery Memory: The entire cruise 2 years ago. One of the best from that was the fireworks (okay, so maybe here's something I haven't mentioned yet...I cry at the sight of fireworks

blush

so watching them from deck 10 was even more "magical" than on Independence Day.)
If I remember right I think Lilygator also has early dining and our age kids. Hmmm...wouldn't that be fun?!?!
So do I!! 7 & 5.
I wonder if the wonderful Disney travel agents would think I am crazy if I called and asked to be seated with x and x; however, we would like to be near x, x, x, .... Do you think that's been done before? Is it possible?
Well, it never hurts to ask!
'm totally ready to get some official meet times together too. All I can think of right now if the 3 pm in the Promenade Lounge on boarding day.
I posted a list of previous ones that we did 2 years ago but didn't hear anyone's thoughts about any of those or any suggestions of what others ahve done. Here it is again. Whatever we decide on I can update on post #1. Feel free to add any suggestions, but does anyone like anything here?:
As far as DIS meets, we haven't really set anything up for sure...except the FKLP tour in KW!! If any experienced cruisers want to toss out some ideas of what you've done in the past, we can maybe decide some of the ones that everyone has the most interest in participating in.
And just because it's set up as a "DIS meet," don't feel like you have to be at every single one of them either. We kinda hit & missed the ones last time. Here's some that were set up for our group last time:
***In the terminal. Most of us arrived right at 10:00, so we had quite a bit of time to meet & greet with everyone. The photos we all posted beforehand really helped us recognize each other from across the room!!
***The Mickey Pool (for those of us with younger kids) right after embarkation. I'm sure there may have been something going on at the Goofy Pool, too, but we weren't part of that.
***3:00 in the Promenade Lounge. I forgot about this one, so we didn't attend. Oops!
***Deck 10 for the Sailaway Party. We did have trouble finding everyone, though, so there may have been several small groups of us spread out. We had just a few others DIS'ers right around us.
***All the tastings had groups in it. Justin & I didn't do the wine or martini, but we did the tequila & beer with a few different people (note to self: don't do these back to back again! Yowza!!)
***Palo? I think there was a group of people that arranged for Palo reservations at the same time/table/area, but we had our anniversary plans by ourselves, so we didn't participate in that one either.
***GC--Cap'n Marvin's stingray excursion. Our group had 3.5 families on the excursion boat.
***CC--far end of family beach.
***'Til We Meet Again (character show) in the lobby Friday night. As an impromptu meeting that was set up just hours earlier, we did end up with quite a group and probably ended up being the largest meet that I attended.
There may be other meets that we had, too, but I'll have to go back to the old cruise thread to find out for sure. Another way to meet up with other DIS'ers was to link dinner reservations for all that are early or late. We requested a specific dinner rotation (and got it) and asked to be sat with/near each other. Even though we were all linked, somehow our family still ended up at a table for 4. We did have all DIS'ers around us, so that was pretty cool, too.
HI Everyone! I'll start working on the list for dinner links and for the tastings tomorrow.
Great! Thanks! I can post that on #1 also for easy reference!
It has been a rough day -- Yoni found out he is most likely losing his job in a couple of weeks. He has a STRONG lead on a new job so hopefully that will come through but needless to say, it has been a stressful day and just ready to crawl into bed.
Oh, Mati!

I'm so sorry!!! Hopefully everything works out for the best. I'll be thinking of you (and everyone else affected by this $%#@! economy...)
my family will be on this cruise! hooray! we

to our crusie thread! I've got you on Post #1, and if there's any other info you want to share, just let me know! You can also check out what some of the others are planning for excursions (if they've told me, I've posted it there).
Do you sign up ahead for the tastings?
Yes, just go to Guest Services for the tix (not online ahead of time, just onboard ahead of time).
We have signed up with Captain Marvin in GC. We will probably do the rolley in KW. Haven't decided what to do in Coz, although we are looking at the underwater scooter. We did it at St. John's and loved it. I really want to parasail at
Castaway cay.
Gotcha updated!
Hi Lynsey! (see, getting used to names!!!)
It helps, doesn't it?!?! I also find it helpful when there's your names and a family photo in the signature line (or avatar, like Lynsey) so we can see your smiling faces and be able to memorize them each & every time you post!!! (I'm sure some of you are getting sick of seeing my family ALL THE TIME!!

)
It seems like not so long ago that someone wrote on the main board that we were a quiet group. I don't think we are so quiet anymore! I am so excited, I can't stand it.
I think I came across that at one point, and if I remember, they were talking about the May 17th Wonder cruise.
FYI- We fly in LATE Friday May 15th (11PM). So I just wanted a cheap place to snooze. Just booked a night at the Travelodge Inn & Suites for $58 total. Free shuttle to and from the airport. So we'll stay there and then shuttle back to MCO to catch the Cruise shuttle. What time are most of you shuttling out?? We still need to purchase those tickets.
Gotcha updated! Are you doing the
DCL transfers? I'm not sure if anyone else here is dong that or not. Anyone...anyone? FYI, lots of us are staying at PC on Friday or else driving (their own car/rental car or a car service) from the airport/hotel on Sat AM. We flew in really late last time (delayed & finally arrived at hotel @ 2:30 AM) and used a car service the next day to get to the terminal as soon as they opened at 10:00. BTW, GREAT videos!
