ok added you all to facebook --- re bikes, my uncles are both bikers and back when I was a kid my eldest uncle owned a bike shop called the iron horse. I never rode alone and when I was in college was more of a fan of the crotch rockets - or on the back of them.
However, we saw in front of us on LSU game day at uf (this past season)....literally in front of us as we tailgate on university ave, someone got hit and he had on a helmet tg...I will never think of bikes in the same way - ever. He was going straight, she was turning after a red light so not fast, his bike was demolished and thank god he had on a helmet, both my girls saw the whole thing and DH was the first to run over to the guy and start yelling out for towels, etc. Game day in a college town. the streets were backed up already beyond belief so getting help in was a mess....we just did what we could and lucking two nurses from half a mile up the street either side ran in to help. Blood was all coming out of his helmet, all over his legs - he had on shorts and flops. We had to give statements and all, and god even though we had a great win that night, I kept calling shands to try and get anyone to give me info, untimately he was ok, not the same but ok.
Not to put any damper, I am a biker fan - but it's the CARS you have to really watch out for, when I see a biker I really try and get out of the way. The only thing I think will happen - neither of these girls will get on a bike ever, we saw him fly backwards and land, not anything you want to witness.
wow such a debbie downer, sorry.....
