Kristin,
We also leave thursday on our 18 hour drive.,but we leave from NE PA. Maybe will see you on the road somewhere. I think will have to bring our FE gifts as a carry on. I need a whole nother suitcase for them lol.
I'm not even finished with them yet.

LOL, actually I have 3 more to go!
I will wave on the road!!!!!! We are leaving around 4 am :scared1: and I start out, are you stopping somewhere for the night?? We are hoping to make it about 12-14hours... with a 5 year old and a 9 year old I will have to see about that!

I am packing my FE gisft so I'll have an extra suitcase - but we are not flying so no issue there.

I'm pretty sure our FE stuff is going to be carried on, but yet to be determined. lol Still have to pack and see how much room we have. We are also driving, so no worried there.

While I was out earlier running what will hopefully be the last pre-cruise errands, my husband mentioned on the phone he'd feel more relaxed staying over by the port. Considering he commutes just as far in the opposite direction every day, I can see why. So, once again I'm considering the Residence Inn right by the port. I can justify it as long as it makes me not have to pay for parking. They have a shuttle @ 10 am and it isn't much. I read some things I didn't like about the other port hotels, despite how nice they look but people all seem to agree on liking this one. I'm currently to see who has the ver best price.

Anyone have any thoughts about it they'd like to share before I book, about this hotel or any other great idea you may have? There's such a group here, with many that have cruised a lot I figured I'd check and see. :)

So, I can pack my fish extender stuff??? I do not have any unsealed food or anything, so it should be fine am I right????

I am getting so excited!!!!!
Kristin

DH and I are leaving on Friday at 4 am :scared1:. I am starting off driving as well. I'm not sure how far I am going to get before I hand the car over to DH. :goodvibes It will probably take us around 10 hours. I can't wait to get the chance to meet everyone!!!! We are sooooo excited!

Barbara,
I didn't know you guys were CM's. Does that mean you work at the Tyson's store? If so, how long have you worked there? My mom's BF worked at the store for YEARS before they moved to FL, and she's now working at the parks. My brother (coming on the cruise) also works at Tyson's, in Nordstrom.

Tink, No we are not literally cast members--that's just a term some people use for their group going on a Disney vacation together!!! Sorry!!!

I was in Tyson's yesterday, at the Apple Store for iTouch accessories. But I love Nordstrom for its shoes. Best shoe heaven on earth!!!

oops. gotcha

Woohoo. Ok, I booked a room the night before and the night when we come back. Instead of staying by the port, I decided to stay ocean front, since I've never done that and it was cheaper than the port ones. We're still getting inexpensive shuttle service.

Receommend the Residence Inn at the Port! Great rooms, super breakfast morning after and reasonable and helpful shuttle service. $6.00 pp round trip

Thanks my4bratz. I ended up going another way, but it's still good to know. People do seem to like the Res. Inn over there. It had been my 1st choice. I ended up going another way, though. It made sense for the price and I like that it's on the ocean. Good lil' vacation extender that way. It's also a chain I have a loyalty program with. The shuttle is a smidge more, but hardly and I'm ok with that, especially since it's not right on the port street.

Were taking our FE gifts in our suitcase! EVERYTHING is packed! Just has to be transported into the Miata tommoro night!

We have decided to leave at 4am aswell!!! :scared1: Were looking forword to the drive though! To us ALL part of our trip! Cant wait to get outa here!!!

The funny thing is I am looking forward to the drive too.... I cannot wait to see our first palm tree!!!!I am supposed to be packing but I will have to finish tomorrow.....3 more sleeps for us!!!!
ps
My husband is not bringing his suit jacket, I hope this is not a big deal.... will we have an issue in Palo?

On our first Disney cruise, we stayed at the Comfort Suites (or Quality Suites) beside the Ron Jon Surf shop and LOVED it! We were able to walk on the beach and really enjoyed our stay there. The parking package for that hotel was actually at the Radisson hotel and used the Radisson shuttle. So, if that's what you chose, you did good!

We just wanted to stay at the port to avoid having to driver, re-park, etc. Come on over the the Radisson and join us at the pool Friday around 9 if you're interested! (That goes for everyone in Port Canaveral that night!)

Here's what I'm doing with our FE gifts...
I mailed most of them to the ship warehouse. However, you could not send any food products. So, the food product portion of the gifts are packed in a large duffle bag that I will check. I figure I'll be able fold it up and place it into the suitcase when vacation is over. Otherwise, it can hold all of my souveniers...

BTW The "food" gifts that I'm giving are made here in Tennessee, thus the significance of the gift. Sorry, but some of the gifts don't have little labels that explain this!

Hi Everyone,

Just logged on and have 7 pages to read, but before I started all that I thought I'd post to let you know we are having a fantastic time. The weather has been hot, but we've been drinking water like mad.

On Saturday we went to the Poly and watched the fireworks from the beach. I'm pretty sure that I saw the Podcast Cruise meet. Sunday we went to Epcot our highlights were Soarin, Mission Space, our lunch in the Biergarten and did one case of the KimPossible adventures. It's really made for younger kids, but I liked seeing things in a country that I really haven't paid much attention to before. We went back to our rooms in the afternoon and I was amazed that I fell into a DEEP sleep till almost 7. Woke up and met our friend to go over to MK for EMH.

Today we did EMH at AK in the morning did the Safari and Expedition Everest. FYI, the are not giving out FPs for Kali River Rapids. After we got our photos with Mickey, I had to hit the First Aid Station as I was getting a migraine. Downed a Coke and took some Excedrin and Tylenol. After about 45 minutes it went away (I just get blind spots not the massive headache). Jim and my friend Cliff led me around the park and we had lunch at Yak & Yeti. I had the Ribs and they were REALLY good. We gave away our FP for EE and left to go to DHS. We arrived a couple of minutes to 2 and the guards told us to stick around to watch the shuttle at 2:02pm. We saw it, but it was just a jet stream across a small blue patch of sky (overcast with clouds). We watched Muppets and then went to see the AI show. It was pretty good and we saw one of the cast members from the Adventurers Club (he played the Simon character). We wandered around and watched some streetmosphere and then headed out to DTD. Ate at Earl of Sandwich (YUM) and then we finally headed over to the Goofy Candy Co. Where I had a rice krispy treat created. I took video of it if anyone is interested. OMG it is HUGE and for 3.20 an amazing dessert. We took the launch back to OKW and it rained for about 3 minutes. There are supposed to be scattered or isolated thunder stormes the remainder of the week. I'd pack the rain gear just as a precaution (and hopefully you won't have to use it).

Tomorrow is our anniversary so we have the Epcot segway tour and dinner at Narcoosees. I'll probably checkin again on Thursday.

Ok, since we thought we were going to have wireless access and it is wired, I better get back to reading the stuff that I've missed. I'll try and post again, but Jim wants to check his stuff as well.

Jane

I suspect the Days Inn or Super 8 is where we will try to get!!
Just a warning, the Super 8 hasn't reopened. A few months ago we had a bad windstorm that tore a portion of their roof off and it is still closed.

This was taken today. We just won't tell my husband he's on the message board.
Great picture! :thumbsup2

Funny you mention that.....
Hi Everyone!! PHEW What a crazy FUN day!! We just got home and uploaded our pics & Video.

Very cool! It looks like you all are having a wonderful time.

AND has anyone heard from Phil &Kelly (Pwoodson)? Do we have their cabin number?
I haven't heard anything from them, that's the only room I'm missing for our FE list to hand out.

BTW The "food" gifts that I'm giving are made here in Tennessee, thus the significance of the gift. Sorry, but some of the gifts don't have little labels that explain this!
Mmmm, yummy! I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep the rest of the week, I kept laying in bed last night just thinking about vacation!!!! :yay:

Wishing you all safe travels. We will be heading out early Wed morning to fly out of Detroit.

Can't believe it is almost here - so much still to do - keep safe everyone,
