May 16, 2004 / 4 Day Wonder

Thats a great idea!

If you would like, I will be happy to rent our kids to you for the length of the cruise! ;)

Are they allergic to duct tape???;)

There is a story behind that comment , remind me when we meet and I will share.

Right now I am organizing our travel plans and reservation numbers etc.

Getting ready to start teaching a SCUBA class and watched Pirates last night, getting me really ready for fun in the sun.

I can usually come up with some pretty good kid ideas as I refuse to grow up. Kinda a second star to the right thing.

No, I do not believe they are allergic to duct tape so it sounds like we have struck a deal then!! :hyper:

I am also in the process of organizing all of our trip info into a small folder. My DW and MIL joke about all the time I put into organizing trip plans, they consider me their personal travel agent :) I dug out all the birth certificates last night to be sure we did not misplace them since last cruise.

Nothing wrong with planning and getting organized. That way if something sould go a fowl you are prepaired. Makes sense to me. I consider myself an A minus personality anyway.

Or should we say we have STUCK a deal.:hyper:

Scottie: I remember reading on one of the other posts about the pillow cases. What exactly do you have to do with them? How are you decorating them?

Videogal: We are arriving at the port early (I HOPE). If you want, I will try to get you a ressie at PALO when we make ours. Just let me know.

Anna

Annae- For the pillow cases, I am going to buy decent cotton pillow cases (not sure what color yet). I will also buy iron-on transfers at a local Office Max type store. Several companies make ones that feed right into your home ink jet printer like paper. Find the pictures you want, feed in the transfer paper and print away. Then all you have to do is follow the ironing instructions to have a one of a kind autograph book!

Anna, thank you very much!
That would be FANTASTIC! I've taught Cash to do many helpful things but it looks like he's not going to be able to develop a charming smile in time to captivate any late reservation-takers and one of the things I especially wanted to do aboard the ship was eat there. Any reservation time is perfect. I understand that occasionally they run out of seating at Palo's so, being a late arrival, I would be happy just to get a chance to eat there at all... Pixie dust to everyone!

By the way, guys, there was a thread in here somewhere about graphics for pillows...Ask Verandah Man. He does all his stuff...even large magnetic signs for the outside of the metal cabin doors.... He was helping someone with instructions for doing double-sided transfers, too.
I thought a table cloth would be nice...
or maybe a car cover... :teeth:

Lynda, we are going to try and get ressie's at Palo for the last day of the cruise. Is that okay with you?

Lynda,

The car cover could be really pretty neat, but you would have to watch out for the winds while showing it off on the upper decks, and your veranda. :p

We are under the 80 day mark:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Ok, let’s hear (again maybe) what everyone’s plans are for:

--Arrival dates/times into Florida before the cruise
--Plans before the cruise
--Plans after the cruise

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

The weekend before the cruise we will be in ATL at my sisters. Arrive May 16 very early at MCO and off to the Port. DO the cruise. After the cruise one night at BCV and then back to ATL. 5/22 ATL to Curacao for a week of diving. Then back home to JAC. That is the short quick version.

We have the 7-day land/sea package. 3 nights at the polynesian village and then over to the cruise on the 16th. We are actually taking the auto train from Virginia. My husband and father-in-law are afraid to fly. We'll be in Disney World on the 13th. (my twin son's birthday!) After the cruise, we are going to Downtown Disney for shopping---- our train leaves on the 20th at 4:00 p.m. Should be enough time to get some serious shopping done!!!!

Our Plans have us flying in to MCO at dinnertime on the 14th.
We will stay at the Ron Jon for the 14th and 15th.
Of course, we will head down the road to port nice and early on the 16th to sail away.
After the ship returns, we are off to WDW and a stay at the BCV’s for 3 nights before we return to Columbus around dinnertime on the 23rd.

Oh no don’t talk about Downtown Disney! It never fails that I get dragged over there for several exhausting hours of shopping each and every trip!! The only positive is a stop at the Ghirardelli ice cream store ;)

Do you have any big plans for the kid’s birthday celebration in WDW, maybe a character meal? Will they be six or seven on their b-day?

The boys will be 6 years old on May 13th. I have been looking into parties, dinners, etc. I even checked with the lady who makes baskets for the staterooms on the cruise. I was just not overly impressed. We live 3 blocks from the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey. Buckets, shovels, coloring books, etc. are something we already have here at the shore. I want something different. You know what I really wanted was Mickey to deliver a big stuffed Mickey or something like that right to our room in the Polynesian Village. They would love that. Probably would cost a fortune, but the kids would go crazy to see Mickey in their room. I think we are having dinner at O'Hana the first night, maybe they will do something for us there.

I can only imagine the cost of having Mickey appear at your door!! I am sure if you mention it is a b-day celebration, they will try to add something special to the dinner experience at O’Hana. We have always tried to hit Chef Mickey’s when visiting around one our kids b-days. We like the food and the characters.

It looks like we should have a good turnout in the Oceaneer Club from this DIS group, a handful of youngsters that fall in the 5-7 range. I hope our youngest daughter (3 at sailing) will not be too sad seeing her sister in the “older group”

I have heard that once the kids get into the clubs, they don't ever want to leave. Your daughter will probably get in the club and forget all about you and her older sister! lol

Yes, we did loose our oldest daughter, Meghan, to the club in 02’. I am sure Morgan will spend many a long hours there too this cruise!
