May 16, 2004 / 4 Day Wonder

Yes they could be there. We have seen them in Bimini in May and that is about the same latitude as CC. I would bring sea safe and do a good rinse. I will.

I wrote a blip about sea lice and posted it on the board. let me know if you can't find it or the search function wont let you find it.

I got hit by them in San Salvador last may, they were thick.

Annae, not to worry find the thread and give it a read.

The sea lice thread is located in the topic by Webmaster Penny in the cruise line area under useful links.

Safe Sea is good stuff and you need sun screen anyway.

Well it is snowing here again with about 6" of new stuff on the ground with more to fall over night. Really ready to see this white stuff dissapear.

We have lucked out a bit with the weather today and for the upcoming weekend, ranging between 45-60 degrees for a few days…cant wait!! I am sure the nasty winter weather will be back to visit some time next week! The Disney trip cant come quick enough.

Does anyone know what time they will let us start boarding? I want to be close to the front of the line to board. We will be leaving from the Polynesian so I want to make sure that we get to port on time. Should we go straight to Wavebands to wait in line for PALO reservations or have lunch at Parrot Cay first?

As I recall from past cruises they start letting folks on board sometime between 11:30 and 12:30. I am not sure what the current protocol is for Palo reservations.

Something tells me that we will see all our fellow DIS folks at or near the front of the line waiting to board. :p Kinda like the Muppets entering the theater at Muppetts 3D.

I believe the parking at the port opens around 10am and then you can start dropping off your bags and heading on upstairs around 1030am. I may be off on these times a bit and I would guess there are a few factors that may throw off the opening time.

Here is something I just found from a recent cruiser:

The port opens to incoming traffic at 10. If you arrive before the port opens, you will have to park off the property till it opens, so if you are in a taxi or limo, you do not want to do this. The counters open for check in at 10:30. Boarding is scheduled to start at 11:45.

Where do that make you stay off property??

I think I have read "off property" would be just outside the parking area, maybe the McDonalds near by if you want. I am not very sure how far “off property” is technically.

Our flight gets in at about 8:00 so we will have to dawdle a bit as we are using a limo. Maybe arange for a slightly llater pickup.

Thanks for the info.

Later pick up at MCO doesn’t sound like a bad idea...better then the limo driver dropping you off outside the port entrance at 930 or so and making you walk over with your bags once things open around 10! I guess if it is a limo service that offers a free 30-minute stop then you can utilize that to burn some time even.

Lynda, we are going to try and get ressie's at Palo for the last day of the cruise. Is that okay with you?
That would be extra-lovely!
I understand that that is the most coveted night especially on a 4-nite cruise...
We thank you! :Pinkbounc

I thought of the 30 min stop angle and I could always feign a panic attach any time he went over 45 MPH. Maybe pretend to get a very important call from work. Take a very long bathroom break. The options are endless. Or just give him a nice tip, is what I may offer if we can not change the pickup time. Offer the driver a break at one of those famous Scottish restaurant that are all over the world.

Lynda,

The car cover could be really pretty neat, but you would have to watch out for the winds while showing it off on the upper decks, and your veranda.

If you get a 100% cotton car cover it wouldn't be too hard to put a rod pocket in a narrow end (probably the rear, as the front is too contoured) without messing up the contour. Then, while on board, just string a rope through the rod pocket and hang it like a pennant. I would really make sure the added seams are stitched several times for strength....:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

No telling what kind of endowment you'd have to make to the characters' retirement fund for all those signatures.....Send me a pic....:Pinkbounc

Lynda,

Did you mention in an earlier post that Deb Wills will be on this cruise??

The 60+ degree weather here today makes me dream of cruising the high seas with Mickey Mouse!!
