May 16, 2004 / 4 Day Wonder

Ok Crew, we are at or below the 90 day mark. -17 this AM.

Shall we start to plan a place to get together and say hi to each other at the Port prior to boarding?

We can leave the significant others waiting in line to board :D

Sure, sounds like a great idea, we could meet by the model of the ship. Scott, hope your're not sending that cold weather this way, it's a balmy +10 this morning.

I give up on waiting for the flight prices to go down. I think we will buy our tickets next weekend. I was going to wait till about 60 days out in hopes of lower prices but I just don’t foresee that happening with the fullness of the flights already.

It looks like we may fly in Friday night now instead of Saturday morning and add Friday night to our stay at the Ron Jon. Of course we won’t get much use out of the resort for Friday night since the flight likely won’t arrive at Orlando till around 10pm

I am doing a happy dance as I type, due to my excitement of hitting 90days! This trip cant come fast enough!!! You can count on seeing us in the port extra early awaiting the boarding doors to open.

As full as the ship seems to be I thought we would have picked up some more DIS fans on this post.

I agree I thought we would have had more Dis Folks. Come out where ever you are. ;)

Try checking air fares at 1:00 am on Wed morning. It has worked for me on occasion.
This is when airlines used to reallocate their fares, this may be a little dated but might be worth a try.

I will give the 1am flight check a try...who knows, maybe I will strike gold!!

Hi All! I just stumbled upon this post. My husband and I will be on this cruise too with our twin boys (six year olds). Videogal, you and I pm'd a few months ago remember? This is our first cruise and we are very excited. I am a bit disappointed to hear that the boat is almost sold out though. I was kind of hoping that it wouldn't. I get very stressed with all the rushing around and trying to get reservations and all. My in-laws are also going with us as is my husband's brother and children ages 14 and twins that are 12. Should be interesting. My in-laws and us have adjoining rooms 6554 and 6552. My brother-in-law is down the corridor a bit at 6586 I believe. Hope to meet up with all of you. Let me know where?

Anna

Welcome aboard to you and your crew.

We are all ready for a "lovely cruise" ( reference to a jimmy Buiffett song.

Yes, welcome aboard Annae!! We are happy to have another one from DIS sailing with us! I am sure even with the cruise full we will still enjoy ourselves. From what I have read it doesn’t seem “full” even when the cruise is sold out, so that is a good thing!

Our DD will be 7 when we sail and I know she will be spending many hours in the kids club. If our other DD (3 at sailing) finally gets fully potty trained I am sure we will loose her to the kids club too!

Just checked our reservation and noted we were in room 7070. I was hoping to know the folks below us so we could hang a bucket over board and pass drinks back and forth on the veranda. :hyper: :p . That would be fun.

Probably do a meet at the port as we all seem to be planning an early arrival.

Scottie,

Any better luck with the air fare???

Better luck with airfare, Oh no…not at all!! Actually, the flight we want to take went up another 10.00 per person when I checked this morning. I checked just now and it is back to the same as the other day. So I will either buy the tickets tonight or tomorrow. I put four of them on hold tonight with Delta. I don’t think I will check prices after I buy these for fear I will find out they went down closer to the trip!!

Bummer, sorry on the air fare. I hate it when you buy a ticket and see the fare drop.

No biggie….I am just so happy to watch the days till our trip pass by I will forget all about it :)

So true that time takes away the sting of airfare cost.

I fliped our hold tonight to more expensive tickets....go figure!! We decided we wanted a direct flight now which leaves about 20 mins earlier then we planned but gets in MCO 1.5 hours earlier! This will get us to CocoaBeach in time for a late dinner

Oh and Delta told me if our ticket prices go down then they will issue a credit voucher good for one year for the diiference. I didnt know they did such a thing now...I was happy to learn that

Just don't do like I do and get the credit voucher and forget to use it. Doing the Homer Simpson
"doughff" (or however it is spelt)

As of late it seems like are fares are really taking a jump. Oh to move to FL and bee within driving range. Hopefully soon.

Hi Annae
I DO remember writing you...and..funny thing, Cash the Wonder Dog and I will be in 6154! Right across the corridor! We'll be the aft-end

Verandah Queens! We can pretend to hold down the back of the ship if the going gets too rough....:sunny:
not that I thing anything on a Wonder cruise is going to be rough after the chilly weather everyone's had ..why, we even got snow in Central Texas.....a Miracle! BRRRR!

On cruise day Cash and I (and the rest of the wheelchair and scooter-riding group who stay at AKL) will be arriving late...The pickup from AKL isn't until 12:30 or so...Too bad. Guess I'll have to tell Cash to smile his prettiest to see if we can find a single seat at Palo's. By the time I get to the cruise I'll have been on vacation for a week and I think my first priority will probably be laundry...What a way to start a cruise! Hangin' clothes out on the verandah!
Hah!...What a picture...
Keep in touch...This is gonna be a fun cruise and even better to have some DIS-friends on it!!:wave2:

Looks like we might have to plan two meets, one for us early folks at the port and a later one while on the ship. KEWL!!!

Looking forward to meeting Cash and the rest of you folks.

I am on a mission now to get all the goodies together to make the pillowcases for our two daughters. This should help at least a few days pass by while I search the web for the perfect pictures and shop the local stores for the pillowcases and transfers. Maybe I will have the DW do the shopping as shopping is her specialty

Being kiddless (by choice) we are no pros on the pillows, but here is an idea.

Make a square or shape of choice, maybe a mouse head, using one of those laundry pens. Then have the kids fill it in when they get home with their favorite memory.

This might make a neat keepsake.
