When I saw an eclipse in Cornwall UK they gave out loads of special glasses to watch it with - do you reckon Disney will do the same thing?

I am really hoping that DCL will do something special for it! It looks like this will be the first one ever visible from a DCL ship!

I thought you guys might be interested... There will be a solar eclipse on May 20th starting at around 5:00pm and finishing at about 6:30pm (Pacific time zone for Seattle and Vancouver).

It will be about 80% in Vancouver. This link shows the path of the eclipse:

This one is the table showing the times but it's in UTC-0 time zone so convert to Vancouver's UTC-8 + 1 hour for daylight savings. Therefore, the eclipse begins at about 5:00pm. The max eclipse (peak coverage) will happen at about 6:15pm. It will end at about 7:23pm. Also the sun will be about 24 degrees off the horizon so we should be able to see it above the trees and buildings.

It would have to be evening for us as I have a event during the day. We will be back about 4PM so I was thinking early evening. The new area by the DL Resort pool is nice. There is the Trader Sams area and a little below it is a fireplace/sofa area to sit. Whatever works for everyone. That way people can get food/drinks or just chat.

Tangaroa Terrace is definitely on our list, yum! It's the best reasonably priced food quick service there! The atmosphere in the area is very nice as well.

Dismeet - Tangeroa Terrace/Trader Sam area. I will bring along a couple Dis-green balloons so you can find us! If we can snag the fireplace area - we will. If you get there before me - snag the fireplace area!

How about 5:30 - ? - that way we have time to eat and chat.

The area we are talking about is at the Disneyland Hotel pool. It is in the center of the Disneyland Hotel towers. It has torches all around it. If you are staying at HoJos, the Grand Californian or California Adventure, you will walk through DTD and under the Sorcer Hat. The area will be to your left. If you are in DL - take the monorail to the DTD station and walk under the Hat...still to your left. If you are the Paradise Pier hotel, walk across the parking lot to the DL Hotel. You will have to make your way between two of the towers and there we will be. If you are driving to the resort, you can park in DTD and get 3 hours free parking. If you dine at one of the DTD restaurants, they will validate you for 2 more hours free but I do not believe the DL Hotel restaurant counts. If you are in the DTD parking lot - walk into DTD and the Sorcerer Hat will be on your right.
