We just found out about the Fish Extender exchange but see it's been closed for our sailing. Is there any way we can still sign up?

I'm not opposed to it, however, if the group decides no, I can bring something extra along for your family.

Does anyone know what I could do with my luggage when we leave the ship on the 21st? Our flight does not leave until 330 pm so I figured we would hang around the Stanley park area until it is time to go to the airport.

I've read that you can take it to a hotel and see if you can tip nicely to have them hold it there or you can use Priority Baggage.

Then, we can get a consensus from the current FE group, but I know most of us won't have any issues adding another to the list...some may have already completed their FEs & maybe not able to include another, but maybe we will hear from everyone on the subject....and in the mean time, please join the roll call.



For luggage, we plan to use DCL's onboard check-in & have them take it the night before....assuming they do that in Vancouver? Not sure if we go through customs there at the port or at the airport, or both, but I plan to send it off with them either before or after disembarking.....however it works there!

Hopefully it work like it usually does & we'll give it to the airline at the port, but not sure if they all participate in the program there like they do in the states.

Sorry if I confused you - I was just saying it was fine with my family to add you to the FEs & yes, you should join the roll call.

We'll still have to wait to hear from the others on the closed FE list to see how they feel, but I will add you to mine (and I believe tomoyo will add you to theirs!!), and we'll wait to see how many you will have. Hope that makes sense.

I know the DIS is confusing at first, but you posted in the right place. As I understand it, you will be added to the roll call, but I'm not the one in charge of that in this cruise, so stay tuned!!

We are not doing lanyards or the Chmapgne Girls on this cruise. Not sure what a candy list is ?

Oh, a candy exchange is fun and is much easier than the FE, really, if anyone else is interested in it??

While some people like to give candy as an FE, this is different because you will have a list of about 25 people (individuals) in each group & they all just give any type of (usually snack size) candy to the people on their list at anytime during the cruise.

This is great for different types of candy from different parts of the country & the world - especially if it's something that is unavailable in other places!! You don't even have to hang an FE up if you're not doing that, just any kind of bag hung from your "fish" will work for the candy droppers.

I hadn't asked about it since it was such a short FE list, lol, but I'm up for it if anyone wants to?? We just would need a place to sign up....usually someone creates a spreadsheet & puts access to it on the first post or first page. But not sure if we have the interest??

Hello May 14 Cruisers ,

Lynn and I are not on this cruise but I have been "lurking" on this thread recently because friends of ours will be on this cruise. I noticed that there has been a lot of discussion on when to close the FE list, and most recently enquiries by people who would like to get on the FE list even though it is now closed.
We recently came off the Dream, March 4 sailing. There was a lot of interest in the FE exchange. It was decided to close the list 4 weeks ahead of the cruise. Not so much because of the number of people participating but to allow time for people to prepare their gifts. Four weeks seemed to be the consensus that was doable. There were other people who, like your situation, came along after the cut off who wished to participate in the FE. So they would not be denied participating in a FE exchange, it was suggested they established a second FE list that allowed those who came in late to participate in a FE exchange. They could at minimum have FE exchange with the second list, and if they wished could make gifts for the original list but they had the understanding the original list of people may or may not be able to accomodate the new list people with a gift. All worked out well. Even with the 4 week cut off to the original list, some of the original list people were still able to make gifts for the second list.
I hope this helps. You are still 2 months away from your sail date. You may find there is still time with late comers on the original list, or you may be able to have late comers begin a second list as exampled by our group.
