May 14, 2012 - Va-moose-ing to Vancouver!

One Kind Man Could you also confirm the ages of your boys. thank you Colleen

The boys are 27 & 25, but because of the autism/MR, the older one has a skill range of 4-8 (1st grader reader level/can't tie shoes) and the younger one has a skill range of 7-15 (can tie shoes, but can not read at all, etc.) The only area my older one acts age appropriate is when he takes my beer!

yes i would love one. thanks :thumbsup2

Those who want the spread sheet will need to PM me thier e-mail as I have not figured out how to attach it to a message here on the boards.

Is anyone booking Alcatraz on their own?

I see from the schedule that we should be able to get off the ship at 8 am. Do you think that I could make the 9:10 Alcatraz Early Bird?

Take warm windbreakers if you go early. The boys and I are going to spend most of the day touring the countryside on the BART. If you don't leave the stations, you can travel all day for about $7.50 on what they call their excersion fare. You leave from one station, ride all day, return to that station.

just wonder-ing since u have been up the coast 6 times ... our other one was princess and cunard .. so ... are the characters dressed for alaska? and do they have muesli for breakfast??

so so so looking forward to this trip with my best buddies too (my two wonderful children) .. we do everything together still ... i love it

I have a roster in Spredsheet form if anyone would like.
Still waiting to hear if:
bbangel
SB in KY
Disneyana
Cheryl N. WI
they have gotten out of the lifeboats and into a room yet.

Well our family may be sleeping by the pool! Still no cabin assignments (we have a VGT and an OGT booked so I am hoping for assignments early next week) Got our docs a while back so we are getting on that ship even if I have to sleep in the afore mentioned life boat.

I sure hope so because I booked it for the 4 of us! Hope to see you there.

B2B Cruisers - please be aware - you will now have two different cabin numbers. DCL has been sending out notices that due to Canadian restrictions - you can not have the same cabin for both cruises.

It seems they are changing the May 21st cabin but please let me know if they change this cruise cabin number.

Mine is changed for this cruise to 7620.

I'm still waiting for a cabin assignment. I have this bad feeling I won't get it until we are at the port!

No cabin assignment for us either yet, OGT. We got our docs last week and I had been hoping we would have a cabin assigned when we got them but no such luck and the suspense is killing me, lol. I have been checking the DCL website multiple times a day to see if we have a cabin yet

I booked it on my own and that is the one I chose. It is supposed to be a short walk to the location for the Alcatrazboats so I thought it would work out perfectly. I went through Alcatraz Cruises.

I sure hope so because I booked it for the 4 of us! Hope to see you there.

I am thinking of booking the 9:10 Alcatraz Early Bird also. We are still trying to figure out the best way to get to Alcatraz, Muir Woods and a tour of the city

How Random! I wonder why that is - our room for the Alaskan room has changed to 2602 - its a really small upgrade (9c to 9b)

I think the room changes are due in part to US laws too. There was a thread in the general cruise forum about it for the b2b for the return trip from Alaska. Apparently you need a "far away port" in order to do that kind of b2b without getting off the boat, changing rooms and fully going through customs.

I'm sorry for everyone going through this. I think the DCL legal dept just realized they had a major fine problem.

I have changed your stateroom on the roll call for the FE. It was due to the restrictions but we had been calling DCL asking and were advised we were fine.

In my case - although it was still the same CAT 7 - they moved me from a plexiglass verandah - the secret verandah - to a regular enclosed CAT 7 and I was upset. I had booked that stateroom on opening day for a reason. I didn't think it was fair that I was displaced due to their error. It worked out - I was moved again to another SV - just a deck up. I am still not happy we have to pack since that was the entire reason we chose the same cabin but that's ok...it will work out. We are on vacation! :)

I just think they could have also called us instead of random emails that some people got and some didn't (I haven't recieved one yet - I had heard about it from another cruiser). Although there are several B2B cruisers - not so many a personal call couldn't have been done.

It seems to have been really badly handled - I only found out about this on the boards and when I rang my TA they said they hadn't heard but rang Disney to find out what's going on. It would have been nice to get a comp upgrade for the inconvienence but I guess I should just be happy we can do the b2b still. Just to confirm my room for May 14th is 2612 and for Alaska its 2602

is anyone packed yet?

we're leaving next Saturday for LA. I started packing today - my two littlest helpers were being extra "helpful" but I managed to get a decent chunk done. Cute story this morning - my three year old found one of her old "cinderella" disney store shoes and she put it on, gasped, and exclaimed "it fits!!!"

Anyone want to link dining?

i definitely want to link. we did this on other cruises to make it easier to stay in touch. this way we can have our own tables and have same rotation dining ... eat in the same restaurants on the same nights ... and see the shows together! we are early diners ...

Well if you figure it out...let me know. I booked Alcatraz and Muir Woods but could not figure out a way to work in the city tour as well. They have an evening tour that I thought would work and it sounded great....but it only runs Thur - Sun evenings....and we will be there Wed. So many sites, so little time!

Got it! Thanks! I agree - it could have been handled better.

Anyone want to link dining?

You know I would be we are late dining :(
