still no cabin here , 1st dis cruise , booked in feb 2011, cheapest online fare for gty
maybe tonight
maybe tonight
I'm a bit sad that they didn't move us up from 9d to 9b before filling the 9's with GTY's, though. I think we are out of the running for an upgrade. I won't even try at port, because the most important thing to me is keeping our connecting door. With them filling up the ship, before moving us, I don't think the connecting door rooms will be left. So we will be happy with what we have![]()
Thats the thing If I Pick a room I picked it for a reason to just change it I could be upset.
I.E I booked a Aft balcony(being on the back was same cost as being on side) on my NCL crossing if they bumped me to a mini suite I would have been pissed.
Some ppl want lower decks , some know the reviews of a room or had that room b4 etc. was very surprised to see then just bumping NCL would call if no answer you don't get moved.
Congrats to all those that got upgrades!

still no cabin # for us, we are in a 9D GTY. I have often thought that you stand a better chance of an upgrade if there is only 2 of you in the cabin, as opposed to a triple or quad. Those that have gotten upgrades, how many peeps in your cabin?

Well after reading all the posts from you guys I went and checked my booking this morning. I originally booked our cruise in September or October 2009. I had done an inside with three people, then when my mother decided not to go I removed her and switched us to an oceanview 9A. We were assigned cabin 7012, today I looked and they moved us to cabin 7030 which I think has a verandah now????? I am so excited if that is the case.
That is great!I'm sorry that your Mom is no longer able to go, but this was a nice little turn of events.

I will miss that she isn't going now, however looking forward to spending some time with my husband.
On another note I had seen you were on my FE list, however you don't have a cabin #, but just says deck 1?? Have you been assigned a cabin yet?
Hopefully everyone will start to list their cabin #'s I hate to have the gifts and then not be able to know where everyone's cabins are. Definately not taking the laptop with me, but will print out the sheets before we sail.
I also think I will put stuff on my calendar in my Ipod which might come in handy.
Oh too does anyone know if we are mailed luggage tags for the port or are they somewhere to print online? I just wondered because I had previously been told I should have received a welcome packet when the cruise was booked and I never got anything. Just hope I don't miss anything else that is supposed to be mailed.
OK, NEW TOPIC
I mentioned this before, but is anyone interested in doing a book exchange? We did this a couple different ways last year. The easiest was that one person hung a bag outside her cabin. If you had a book you wanted to donate/exchange, you dropped it in the bag. If there was one there that you wanted, you helped yourself. Any books left at the end of the cruise were donated to the crew library. If there is interest in this, I will volunteer to hang the bag outside my cabin.
The other system involved meeting times, etc. which I found more cumbersome although it did make for meeting some people. SO...interest? I can't see any reason NOT to do this as it is so easy.
I am still waiting!
Besides me...How many of us are still waiting for room assignment?

We were a 9D GTY and are now in an actual 9A cabin on deck 5. Very nice, I was so hoping to not have deck 2.![]()
