May 14, 2011 - Eastbound TransAtlantic

Got my room assignment... 7596 No upgrade as I booked Cat 5. not a bad location.... good luck everyone!

There must have been alot of Cat 9 GTYs booked...Just saw that we went from a 9B to a 5A, and we weren't even a GTY booking!

when did ppl book ? tring to see if room are going first booked or what

Yeah, brought this up over on FB....not sure there is a rhyme or reason. My booking date actually shows 2007. I have been booked on this cruise since the fall of2009. Still no assignment yet.

maybe price paid seeing they are moving non gty ppl too

is it by category? I notice alot of 9's being moved to 5's any 11's assigned yet? Maybe the 11"s will get the 9's, they have to move them out of the way 1st :thumbsup2

I'm thinking it may be by category... they would have to assign the ones on higher categories first to open up the rooms for upgrading lower ones... :confused3

Got my room assignment....booked 11C, got 9 . DD will be delighted--she always wants "at least a window."

Top of the list (this is the way it is "supposed to work")
Best- past guests - more you cruise the better you get (I know for a fact that this does not always happen)
Better- first booked - first up
Good- restricted fares - industry, military, interline

So if this system works, and we compare notes, the past cruisers should have received the best upgrade based upon the # of cruises taken and if they have booked in an oversold category.

It appears from what we are seeing is that they are assiging from the top down, so the balconies first, then oceanview and then inside. With the sale price, I would say that the oceanview and insides are very oversold and there is a good chance that almost everyone (especially if you are a past guest) should receive an upgrade.

Alas I am on an idustry rate, so no upgrade for me even though this is my 2nd DC but I am happy with my cabin so I will leave the other balconies for those of you with oceanviews, come on up and get some fresh air!!! :dance3:

Congrats to all those that got upgrades! :thumbsup2

I'm a bit sad that they didn't move us up from 9d to 9b before filling the 9's with GTY's, though. I think we are out of the running for an upgrade. I won't even try at port, because the most important thing to me is keeping our connecting door. With them filling up the ship, before moving us, I don't think the connecting door rooms will be left. So we will be happy with what we have ;)

Once our "shakedown" is all done, and everyone has their stateroom numbers...I can put our rooms down for the stateroom tour.

Congrats to all those who got upgrades.

I am looking forward to seeing all the nice cabins on the tours.
