May 13, 2007 EARLY Roll Call… 5/13/2007 4-Night Wonder

Well we have been enjoying some beautiful weather here in SoCal. We will be at the beach tomorrow. 84 degrees expected on Friday here.

Maybe I shouldn't be telling you this. I do that to my sister who lives in NH all the time and she gets so mad at me.

Michelle

:yay: Hi,
White flakey sunshine, rocks! It's like liquid bread in Germany (Beer). We'er moving to NH to retire, Let it snow , let it snow.... Sunny places are nice to visit, give me the snow any time... yeah Hot toddies and hot chocolates too.

grumpy-gramps happy to hear you got your package too!! From recent posts I think most have had that wonderful visit from the UPS man in the last couple of days or will by next week. What a great feeling!

:cool1: Hi Scottie,
You betcha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:
Time to polish up the ole eye patch pirate: .
gg

Well I just tracked my Doc's they are in IL :cool1: But they will not make it here until Monday. I will do the happy dance when I get mine. We will be so busy this weekend and next we are going to start packing  . Life is great when you are going to Disney in just over a week.:cheer2:

Our computer broke!!! I just got back on line......And of course I have enough time to catch up on reading and that is it.

Still no documents yet!!!

Luke uses his rolling kids bag for his toys. Works great.

I think that is what I will do. Thanks for the input Skyw. My mom meant well in getting the girls these rolling totes but I think they are just too small for any real packing. I will do the can't live withouts and toys and snacks to keep them busy.

Is it still against the rules to bring liquids on board the airplane. Juice boxes, water bottles?
I know it was in December but didn't know if anything has changed...

Well Grumpy Gramps my sister also born and riased in SoCal would never come back. She loves experiencing all of the seasons!
I guess I am just a California Girl forever!
Michelle

You can only bring drinks onto the plane that you purchase at the airport after you go through security.

Well I got the new cell phone which I was told I would not have until after the trip. Thank god I got it because my battery was shot. Now I know I will have it for Disney. Packing has started. We are putting some small things together for our trip this weekend and will work on the big stuff next week. It helps pass the time.

Does anyone have any last min tips on what to bring for us 1st timers.

Mickey4- dont forget top bring yourself! Forget that one and the whole trip is shot! :rotfl2:

Dont forget the digital camera, or film if you are not using a digital camera. Dont forget chargers for cameras, cell, etc.

Dont forget to have $$$ open on the charge card you have set aside for onboard charges because trust me it will magically run up in no time (Disney has that power you know!) Between some stuff from the shops, some snacks and drinks and a few pictures from shutters then tips it may surpise you. I know it did our first cruise but we were better prepared for the statement the second cruise. :rolleyes1

Yes I am worried about how fast things run up. I am hoping our Cruise bill does not go over 800.00 for the four days but I know it might. We are not big drinkers and did not book any port activties. One spa treatment was about it. So I am hoping for 800.00 or less but we will see what happend.

I'm really enjoying sitting back and reading all of your posts. Everyone is so excited.

Mickey4- you may want to consider renting one of the rafts/tubes they have on Castaway Cay for the day. It is only about 6.00 for the day and is nice to have when you want to float around in that beautiful water. My kids also liked getting on it.

We booked the tubes but they wouldn't let me book for my 31/2 yr old. I hope they let her float with me or my husband. We are looking forward to that.

Michelle

Our youngest always float with us since they are to young for their own rafts/tubes. I think we enjoy it all the more that way!

Have not confirmed Meet the Robinsons will be playing, but I would venture a guess it would be.

I found a recent posting from someone sailing May 3rd Wonder and they said Meet the Robinsons will be playing per a phone call to DCL. So I am sure it will be on our cruise too!
:happytv:

Meghan has decided that she wants to do the PJ party that I have seen listed in the navigators for the 10-12 age group. I emailed DCL to get some more info and of course they said it doesnt even exist. I didnt really expect much different of an answer from them I guess.:confused3
From what I have read on the boards it sounds like an event for girls only, which she should enjoy.

My tip for WDW is be flexible with your kids!!! I was so excited that we didn't have lines for any of the rides when we went....and Luke was done after 4 rides. It was like, "what do you mean.....you are done??". I realized I could have been that mom that is yelling at her kids to "have fun because we paid alot of money for this trip". And for a split second I was. But then I calmed down and said, "ok, lets go back to the cabin."
Other advice for the parks.....use or rent stollers for kids under 5, to the research on some of the dark rides, (can be scary for a small one), bring bubbles, paper or anthing they may help to keep you kid occupied while in line. Oh yeah, snacks too.

I haven't been on a DCL, but checking your bill everyday is very important. Then you wont be surprised at the end. It is almost impossible to see and do everything that you want to do on the ship. So relax!!! you will probably miss something.

Yes we might just rent a tube. I was thinking of that but in book I have the passporter said you can do that at port that there is always enough. So I was just thinking I might wait and see how the weather is. Thanks for all the tips. We are so ready. I must say this is going to be a great trip I can not wait. Now just to pack, pay the bills, Make out bills to be paid why we are gone and get up to leave on time. Wow....are we only like a week away.

okay I think it was Scottie and SkyW who got the food package. Can I ask about this. I looked for it in this thread but couldn't find it.

Michelle

It was Scottie for the dining package. I hear it is a good deal.

I can't believe it is less than 2 weeks away!!!! My second surgery didn't fix my sinus problems. Long story short.....I have a new doctor and will have yet a thrid surgery after my trip. Doc says I can fly but I will probably be on antibactics and pain killers. I was hoping to feel normal for the trip. I figure a day feeling bad on a cruise is better then a day feeling bad at home!!!
