My boys (husband included) are going to be wearing Polo style shirts and slacks (khaki and black) on casual nights. They are wearing button down shirts, ties and sports coats with khakis on semi- formal night and tuxes on formal night. I got a good deal on the tuxes on Ebay (both were cheaper than one sports coat) and thought they'd make great pictures. I'm wearing capris and blouses on casual nights and dresses on formal and semi- formal nights.

I plan on buying some DCL and Castaway Cay beach towels on our cruise. I loved taking my Castaway Cay beach blanket to the pool all summer last year and reminiscing. I bought one towel from each of the parks on our trip to WDW in January and wanted a few from DCL to add to our collection.

The weather was awful here all weekend. Soccer and baseball games were washed out, but they did opening day pictures indoors. It was chilly this morning but the sun finally came out in the afternoon. Our grass grew several inches with all the rain so I spent 2 hours cutting it this evening.

I still have not gotten around to doing our door signs. I did manage to buy the boys their brown dress shoes so they are totally set for the cruise. All we need are some tapes for our video camera and water proof cameras.

My mom had her doctor phone in a prescription for the patch and the pharmacist called saying they are no longer making them and to try sea bands????? I have one patch left over from last year that hasn't expired and our pharmacy has a set in stock so I will be getting those ASAP. Anyone else heard of this?

My parents and FIL have yet to get their documents. We got ours UPS.

I'll be going into our ds8's school tomorrow and getting his vacation excuse form. I have to have it in 14 days prior to our trip and we leave the 10th. Our ds5 will be finishing his last day of pre-school on the 8th since they "graduate" while we are on vacation.

Cruising is certainly addictive, especially Disney. I really hope my FIL enjoys it since it will be his first cruise ever. My parents have been on other cruises including a 2 week Transatlantic, one to Nova Scotia and one to Bermuda and preferred the 4 day Wonder we went on last year over all of them.
I think we are going to be booking on board for December 2007.

Anyone else booking onboard and if so for when?
Which nights are considered 'informal'? Thanks,

Margaret

Another question from a first time cruiser...what do the KTTW cards look like? Should we bring lanyards (do they have a hole in them?) :confused3 Or do we need to bring a card holder that will work with a lanyard? Just another obsessive question from a Mom who has DCL on her mind 24/7. :yay: Thanks, :cool1:

If you serving Grey Goose martini's I will have to drag myself all the way down the hallway & across the ship to have a few... :woohoo: Or you could just bring them to deck 9, poolside.. I will tip..... :thumbsup2
Dr. Cavin,
You sound like you are ready for a FUN vacation:))

:yay: It's getting closer, just 18 more days to go!!! :yay:

Well, there are really 4 "casual" nights, that's after Formal Night, Semi-Formal Night and Pirates IN the Caribbean Night.

The KTTW card are the size of a credit card, we use a lanyard that has a clear plastic sleeve and put our cards in there.

DrCavin - You forgot to add my 2 "children" well, only one really, my son is 21 and although he will always be my child, he is a legal adult. Maybe there is a fellow Diser gal who might want to meet up with him? His name is Brian. Also my niece Sarah who is 11.

We have our door signs all made out. We are in cabins 8578 and 5514. Come by and say hello!

I have lost more weight recently and now my mask and snorkel doesn't fit quite right so I am off to the dive shop today to purchase a new one. My son and husband are certified divers and have all their equipment but are only bringing their fins, mask and snorkels. We have 2 dives set up for them. One in St. John and one in St. Marteen. We will be snorkeling while they dive.

Hanover - I lay in bed at night and figure out what to wear at the dinners. I think I have it all arranged. We also bought Tuxes on eBay and now I have to go to the tailors today to pick up the pants from getting then hemmed. I am all set in the clothes department. I do need to get DVD disc's for my camera and I think that is it!

I am meeting with my TA to get my Cruise docs so that will be taken care of. Wow! I can't believe it is here already! My DH and I talked about booking a Cruise while onboard and we thought of Christmas 2007 combined with a WDW land trip. It is something to think about. :rolleyes1

Anybody else preparing like a nut like me? :yay:

New to the thread but we are on the boat for the 13th. Cruising with DW and DD (4). Any other 4-year old D's? DD is really excited - she keeps making "cruise scenes" with her toys all over the house.

See y'all there.

Welcome!!! Welcome!!! Welcome!!!

Hello guys! I think I've posted on this board awhile back (like last year) but have been lurking eveyday reading about eveyone. Last year it was myself & hubby, daughter, son-in-law & granddaughter, & son-in-laws parents going on this cruise. Circumstances in life(financial) came & now it's just my husband & myself. Will miss them but we've cruised by ourselves before & had a blast. We got our docs yesterday via Fed Ex. Sure does make it official! We're arriving sometime Thurs. afternoon at Radisson & staying 2 nights. No plans other than relaxing & no schedule for anything but laying out at pool (with drink in hand :goodvibes ) & chilling. We'll be eating at Grills at some point in time but playing every thing by ear. We were on deck 7 with veranda but when I read on this board about the Fl. resident discount our TA was able to get us upgraded to Cat. 4 plus $250 back to us & now we are in cabin 8024! woo-hoo! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  Never have been in that catagory before & won't it be nice & roomy with just the 2 of us! I will have a door magnet on with Clearwater Fl & our names on it, if in the neighborhood come by & knock! This is our 7th Disney cruise  so we have no excursion plans, doing our own thing but will go to St. John since we've not gone over there on any cruise. Palo is going to be on Sat. night & I have 3 massages scheduled for the sea days  & that's it for ressies. I know I will want to sleep in on sea days but I don't want to waste a minute of the cruise so I hope I will be able to get up early & enjoy the ship. I'm at work now so I guess I'd better start the day (it's so hard to concentrate, I keep checking this board & then my mind daydreams) Anyone else having this problem at work :cool1: :thumbsup2

Sgt Sparrow, we have a DD4. She keeps talking about the "big boat". I'm so excited for them and myself!

Well our TA emailed me last night and he has our Cruise Documents!!!! I was hopping :yay: :bounce: :yay: :bounce: :yay: :bounce: into the family room to tell DH and my DD4 started laughing and jumping too :yay: (she didn't know what I was jumping about, too cute). My other daughters were asking "what, what???" :confused3 Our TA is going to mail them Priority Mail, so I'll be checking the mail eagerly every day!

Kathleen put us down for Grills. There's 6 of us.

I'm going to go shopping tomorrow and think I'll look for a new formal dress. It would be cool to get to wear a formal dress to something besides being a bridesmaid for once. :bride:

Just an update on our cruise detail....Our DS Casey is now 4, not 3....

Docs came yesterday. DH found them in the garage when he got home from work. Don't know how I missed the UPS guy. I was home all day.

B&bdiscruisers, glad to see that there is another grandma and grandpa in the group. Nothing like a DCL cruise to make us feel younger! We hope to travel with our DD and DGD's in 2007.

Welcome Sgt Sparrow!

Hello Everyone!

Dr. Cavin, great list! Thanks for taking the time to make it. So there are approximately 16 family's on the list, with about 4 people per family (except Andy's who has about 10 people going :) ), that's 64+ new friends! Wow! Are we going to fit near the pool area? lol

Let me be the first to apologize in advance, if I call everyone by their DIS Name rather than their REAL name after we meet. Hopefully by day #3 I'll remember everyones first name.

No documents for us yet :guilty: , although the key word is YET! :hourglass

DW & I are not much of the Martini & Manhattan drinkers, and DW is still in Jimmy Buffet mode, so Margaritas on the rocks for her and cold beers for me (Corona's or Red Stripe)! So we will BYOB! But at least we know where the party is!

Sgt Sparrow...welcome. I also have a DD4. If you check Dr. Cavins list you will see there are a few of us with kids that are 4yrs old, who cannot book most DCL excurions. Can you say Butterflies?.. LOL

I'd just like to add in here as well, I am absolutely horrible with remembering names myself, I "usually" do good remembering faces, but names, oh my, LOL!!! I keep telling myself to print off a list with everyone's user name and given first name, but I haven't done it yet, I'm so bad, LOL!!!

My niece's 3 yo keeps talking about getting on the "Big Mickey Boat" as well, she is so cute. Cali-Mouse you did good, except we have 12 people in our group, which is double the size we've ever cruised with before. We are really looking forward to having a MAGICal cruise with everyone!!!

:sad2: DH and I aren't on Dr. Cavin's list. :confused3

Harry and Donna, both 54 yr. old sickeningly proud grandparents.

It's OK Dr. Cavin. I'm sure it was just an oversight. Just messing with you.

Oh, I am bad with names too! Feel free to call me ragdoll. I have actually almost introduced myself as ragdoll to people. :teeth:

Welcome to the group Sgt. Sparrow.

I went to ds8's school and completed his vacation exuse form. Only 15 more days and we'll be headed to WDW. I already can't sleep so I can only imagine what it will be like on the cruise. I don't want to miss a thing. On our first and so far only DCL cruise, we only had one full day at sea and 2 full days at Nassau and Castaway Cay. We spent most of the sea day lounging at the pool. By the time we got on board at the ports, it was time to shower, head to dinner and then the show and to bed. I'm hoping to explore a lot of the ship we haven't seen yet and do some of the activities offered during our 3 sea days.

I am sure we'll wind up with our max of 8 suitcases. We were trying for 5 -- one for each of us and a formal bag-- but then the kids got snorkel equipment for Easter from my parents (they purchased at Costco) and we decided we liked it enough to buy some ourselves. Then we'll have pirate stuff in one and one for the first 3 days at WDW. We'll also have a stroller and car seat. Luckily we can leave the latter in our rental car during the cruise. I'm sure I could cram the boys stuff into one bag but I want to leave room for souvenirs! Our last trip we had to buy another bag to fit stuff we bought.

How are DCL's spa attendants with being pushy about selling their spa products? I've read you can write "no sales pitch" but does that really work? I did a really nice 2 hours massage and facial on a Carnival cruise and was literally hounded about paying $600 for the products she insisted I needed to use. Totally turned me off of having another massage that trip.

We'll be able to check "our" dates on accuweather.com very soon (15 day forecast).

Danielle
(Hanover)

Me, DH, DS9 on 5/13 and ds5 will be in room 6508
We are hoping to meet everyone at the Mickey Pool!

Ragdoll, Our granddaughter is 2 and 1/2 & I know what you mean by sickingenly proud grandparents, that's us too! Last year we cruised with my daughter, her husband, & then 1 and 1/2 year old granddaughter. Absolutely loved watching her so excited walking down the deck. It's like enjoying my daughter when she was little all over again but better!

Hanover: If you put down "no sales pitch" they will honor that. That's what I've done in the past & not one word about buying anything.
