Lake...this sounds interesting..what are you adding onto?

We have an older home, but a large back yard, so there is room to expand. We plan on almost doubling our house size.
We currently have a one bathroom , three bedroom brick two storey home. We will be putting on a two storey addition on the back, adding a new bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and a new open concept family room and kitchen to the downstairs. We will turn the existing bathroom (located on the second floor)into a laundry room, and the current kitchen into a second bathroom, so that we have one on the main floor.
We love our neighbourhood, our neighbours, the school where my son goes and our home, we just needed more space as the family has grown. All of my fanily lives in other cities, so when my siblings, friends and parents come to visit (which is often), we have to move my son out of his room for them to have a place to sleep. Now that he is in school I don't like to do that. So we wanted to get a 4 or 5 bedroom house so that I could also get an office again, instead of the make shift one I have created in the basement. And of course a newer and larger kitchen and bathroom, who wouldn't want that!
Sorry that answer was longer than I planned it to be.
(please notice - my lovely Canadian spelling of Neighbourhood)
last week someone mentioned to me that I had spelled it wrong!- but yes we Canadians do use the british spellings on a few words- neighbour, harbour, colour etc..) he he
