Good Morning everyone.... Well i'm sad to say that my cousin is still not back home. Even after the family pooled together and raised the money they still haven't returned her. I'm worried because she is only 20 years old and i'm afraid of what they will do to her. I wish my cousin were still alive so that i can smack him for what everybody is going through. My uncle is a mess just losing his son now possibly his daughter. The good thing is that he spoke to her sunday morning and she said they had done anything to her... i'm sorry to vent on here but my family is kind of touch and go right now.... the wrong thing will set someone off....... Oh how i hate criminals and corrupt governments...

Good morning everyone!

Mari - so sorry for what your family is going through. Hope all is resolved soon.

Huggie - how was HSM? :yay:

Jo - sorry about all the crap with the school down there. I hope your kids can still enjoy their holiday's.

Another cold day here. DS 6 has a birthday party at 12:30. It's just down the street about 5 houses, but I think I'll drive because it's so dang cold!

What's going on with everybody else?

Hey Ya'll... ( that was for you Jodi).. haha
It just took me about 2 hours to read and finally catch up with all of you.
You are a busy bunch.

DH and I just returned last night from our amazing carolina trip, my parents left this morning, and I am finally getting laundry done, and getting back to the mom routine. I missed the kids, but it was nice for the two of us to feel like that young couple again.

Our trip was excellent, and we saw so much of the country.
We drove down through Kentucky to Tennesse and spent a night in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, which was beautiful and still flurrishing with fall colours. Then we headed across top North Carolina, and the drive from Asheville to Spartenburg as you wind out of the mountains was lovely. Stopped at Target, to get a start on the kids christmas shopping ( and take advantage of our canadian dollar at u.s. prices). Drove to Myrtle Beach where we spent two nights, and had beautiful weather and walked the beach and did some golfing, some outlet shopping) then we were off to Charleston. Jodi's home town is increbile, the most architectually beautiful city, we stayed right down in the historic district, where everything was walking distance, took some great tours and visited historic houses and sites. We also ate very, very well on this trip. Magnolia's Restaurant was amazing ..so yummy, and a great atmosphere, and we had breakfast at a little place called Joseph's one morning, where I was served the largest pancake I had ever seen. We toured a plantation as well, and spent a lot of time just walking the city streets, it is so amazing to see a downtown that was so historically significant, and yet still so much a working city, where everyone still lives downtown.

Jodi, thank you so much for all your suggestions, and information... and the Pralines were to die for, we brought home a whole box to treat my parents, and lets just say we devoured them.

I will say that while driving across your fabulous country at this time of year, we did get a true sense of your College Football. We don't have that here.
In Tennesse.. it was the Volunteers, and the Game Cocks in Carolina, and the Mountaineers in West Virginia. We seemed to hit all the cities on game day, and enjoyed the revalry.

Now that I am home, I will have to try and keep up with you all again, I have no trips planned for a while now, which is probably good, since I have been away 4 times since disney.

I wish you all a very happy thanksgiving.
with love,

Lake:hug:

YAY! Lake's home!!!!!

Oh my gosh. I have been dying, waiting to see how your trip was! I am so glad that you loved my home.:flower3:

I do have to say I teared up a bit reading your post. I am so homesick. We can't go home for Thanksgiving because of the stupid teacher strike, so reading your post made me a bit sad, in a good sort of way.:goodvibes

I hope you are able to one day return to my beautiful hometown. Like I say to people all the time, "You can take the girl out of Carolina, but you can't take Carolina out of the Girl." It is so true, even to transplants! ;)
You are more than welcome to be an Honorary Carolina Girl! Where's my Palmetto moon and crescent smilie????

As to our football...
It is a religion in the south. The north, some. But not like it is in the deep south. We love our Southern Belle's sweet,( if not a bit sassy), our barbeque tangy and our football smash mouth.:scared1: So glad you got to see some of our loves!

Anyway, glad you are home!

Post some pics when you can.

Hey MAYers!!! Yet another busy busy weekend at the Casa de Sulley :)....We're having carpet installed today and tomorrow so we spent Saturday and Sunday getting everything organized so that the carpet installers could come in and get done. After it's done all that's left is some painting! Hooray! :woohoo:

Sulley...where are you...I love to see your post...:cutie:

Hi JC! :sulley:

Hi JC!

The kids first day back to school was okay. Mary Cat said two of her teachers were total butts to the class. The science teacher announced a test for on Friday. Yes, the day after Thanksgiving. He knows not many students are going to be there. He just happens to be a negotiator, and is, well, frankly, sickening.

It is still an ugly scene around here. The teachers blaming the school board, the board blaming the union and teachers, the community blaming everyone, and then the students. Who do nothing but suffer and wait for a Holiday season to come that isn't going to be for them. It's all very sad.

Jo

Jo - I hope everyone has a better day today
That's a very tough situation for the students to be in. It sounds like its time for the adults involved to remember that they're the adults and start acting like it again.

Good Morning everyone.... Well i'm sad to say that my cousin is still not back home. Even after the family pooled together and raised the money they still haven't returned her. Sorry to hear that this still hasn't been resolved. Many prayers for your family....and a little pixiedust too pixiedust:

Oh, JM they fook FAB! Our kids love Liberty Tree. It's a tradition to go there towards the end of our trip, because by then we are sick of hamburgers and fast food type stuff. We love the characters. Tell Minnie that she looks beautiful and you'd love the name of her designer, and see what she does. ;)

Our tree isn't up either. I have to clean the house before that can happen, and well, as long as I am DIS'ing, it's not getting done.:)

Jo

Hey Sulley!!!!

The carpet sounds great! What color paint are you doing?

I don't know how you are keeeping from absolute mania. Your time for the Cp is coming up so fast! I would be so excited, I wouldn't be able to do anything at all.

Do you know yet where you will live down there?

Jo

DisneyanaJC--hi back!!:wave2:
mari360-- prayers to your family. I hope everything works out ok.
Sitting here at lunch at work trying to get my daily Disney fix. Why can't it be May yet????? WHY????????????????????????????????? Have a good week everyone!:)

Good afternoon MAYers!

WOW that birthday party seemed to go on forever!! We got home just in time for DS 8 to get off the bus!

ADR's look good JM! You are going to have so much fun! Hope to run into you near the end of my trip (when it overlaps with yours). :wizard:

:yay: Hi JO & Sulley!! Sulley you must be getting SO EXCITED!!!!!

Just stopping by to catch up from the weekend!

Mari - I am so sorry about your cousin. She is in my prayers.

JM - I love the story about your grandmother. I love gospel music and I especially love CeCe Winans. Two or three years ago CeCe Winans was coming to Little Rock on Valentine's Day and my hubby said "I'll take you there!" (If you know what I mean.) Well... both of our kids got sick, they were barfing all of the house. Needless to say, I didn't get to go to the concert. I started crying, I smelled like puke. I looked terrible. My hubby got down on one knee and asked me to "marry him all over again" and gave me an eternity ring. He had planned to take me out after the concert and give the ring to me then. I often tell him it meant more to me for him to give the ring when I crying, smelling barfly, and looking like death warmed over than for him to give it to me when I was looking and smelling pretty. Let me know if she comes to Little Rock. I would love to see her. My hubby says if the Winans ever come that he will take me. I would love to see Nicloe C Mullen.

It sounds like everyone had a great weekend!

I slept in the heavenly bed...:cloud9:

It was heavenly.

Lake - It is great to see your post.

I bought our Thanksgiving ham today. My brother-in-law always does the turkey but never gets it fully cooked so my family is afraid to eat it. :scared1: So, I now bring the traditional Thanksgiving ham. Ha!

Here is my favorite Thanksgiving song:

Fat Turkey
(to the tune of "Did You Ever See a Lassie?")

Gobble Gobble Gobble
Fat Turkey Fat Turkey
Gobble Gobble Gobble
Fat Turkey am I.

I'm not here for living
I'm here for Thanksgiving
Gobble Gobble Gobble
Fat Turkey am I.

Here is the new updated politically correct version of the song:

Fat Turkey's Song
(tune: "Did You Ever See a Lassie?")

Oh, gobble, gobble, gobble,
Fat turkeys, fat turkeys.
Oh, gobble, gobble, gobble,
Fat turkeys are we.
We walk very proudly and gobble so loudly,
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble.
Oh, gobble, gobble, gobble.
Fat turkeys are we.

It is such a cute song. Be sure to have your kids "flap" their wings when they sing the Gobble Gobble Gobble part.

Happy Turkey Day!
or
Happy Ham Day (if you have a brother-in-law like mine who undercooks your bird!)

Hello All.....

Hi Lake nice to see you back. I'm glad you had a happy vacation.

Quick update... my cousin is still not home but my uncle spoke to her about 2 hours ago and she said that she is fine and that the guys told her she should be home soon.... she said that they haven't harmed her other then when they hit her to take her. But they said they will contact my uncle again tommorow to tell him where to pick her up. When we heard that it was a big sigh of relief but there is still tonight that must finish. THANK YOU all for having my family in your prayers. With God's help everything will turn out for the good.

Hi Mari,

I am so sorry to hear about the terrible situation your family is going through. You will definitely be in my prayers.

I have been to Guatemala a few times and I know what you are talking about when it comes to corruption and all the crime that goes on. That government really needs to get it together and put an end to all the nonsense that goes on down there.

On another hand, it is a very beautiful place. I love visiting the town Antigua and enjoyed eating at El Pollo Campero. The people are very nice and humble. You feel like you are visiting people of another era, like 30 to 40 years ago. The artwork and handicrafts are quite amazing.

Please keep us updated on your cousin.

Seacrest

Good morning!

How's everyone's day going today?

Mari- still praying for the safe return of your cousin. With all that's been going on I fogot to ask you, have you started your new job??? If so, how's it going?

Just got done highlighting my hair. Not sure how it looks yet, it's still wet! Had to disguise those dang gray hairs that are creeping in!! :rotfl2:

Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving?
