Afternoon, MAyers!

Just got back form the library where we rented 12 movies! YIKES! The kids couldn't agree on them, so we have a mixture AND, I might add...

We got some Christmas ones too!:santa: I am ashamed to say that I listened to the Princess Christmas Album this morning with Belle. It's her fave and she's been waiting patiently.;)

JC, how's the 'do?

Jo

Wow that is alot. But that is a good idea. I might run to the library today after the mall. The girls and I have a lunch date with my girlfriend and her daughter and I need a few thing from the mall. So I multitask.

Hate to post and run...today's is my DDIL's birthday...and I'm taking her shopping... See you all tomorrow...:cool1:
Remember today's question is...Holiday Tradition...what's yours...:santa:

Happy Belated bday to your ddil

Hello all,

So my christmas traditions are

I just started a cookie exchange last year and it worked out so well. So I just sent out a save the date and the response is huge. I cant believe it. :rotfl: I am going to have to bake so many cookies and I am hosting it the week before disney. I am crazy:confused3 But I had a blast last year.

For Christmas eve we go to my aunts and cousins house(they live together) and all the kids open presents and we eat a nice dinner. On Christmas Day I have started a new tradition at my house. I also got tired of running around with the kids. Too crazy. So my mom and dad and sister come here and my MIL , FIL, BIL and SIL come too. I make a very big dinner and we hang here. It is alot of work but the kids have a blast.

Ok off to the mall, I need a new comforter and I have to run to Home Depot to get some prices on a rototiller. I want to rototill my backyard this weekend. DH says I am not going to do it but I cannot stand the hostas in my yard. They take over the yard and next year we want to buy a playset for the girls so I need room.

Ok TTYL

Sulley- Thanks for the help. I messed up my pictures Could you help me combine pics? If you could. Thanks

Our tradition for Christmas eve and day are xmas eve we go to my mom's early like 7 pm. we all eat like at 9pm go to church like 10 get back at 11 and start handing presents open them up, then we pack it all up and we go to DH's mom's house which is 30 min away to open presents there. On xmas day DH, DD and myself just hang out at home then we go to a friends house. since my mother and his mother celebrate xmas eve. then xmas day they use to relax..

Hectic schedule.... we do not get home until like 4am and DD has fallen asleep in my MIL's house... so we have to carry her to her bed then get ALL the presents out of the car into the living room..... i'm getting tired just thinking about it....

Mornin' MAYers!!

Slow night on the thread, but it was a busy night in the Sulley house last night...I've been cajoling, guilting, anything I could do to get my parents and sister to come visit me while I'm on the CP because I want them to have a chance to do Disney while it's relatively inexpensive to do so and they've never actually gone and done the parks or anything like that, so last night they finally said they were going to come down and had even decided on a week, so I got to have fun searching for and booking airfare, calling DVC and booking a room again, and trying to get them figuring out what restaurants they want so we can make ADRs....They're going to come visit Feb 2-9...:yay:....And it'll be the first time ever my mom has flown, so that's exciting too!!

Christmas traditions in our house have changed over the past couple years, we used to have 2 or 3 different Christmases in a 24 hour period, one at home with immediate family, one at one grandma's and another at the other grandma's...Now we have the Grandmas and my aunt over to celebrate on Christmas Eve and DM, DDad, DSis and I celebrate on Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve we do the traditional Christmas food like Turkey, mashed taters, green bean casserole, etc. On Christmas Day we do soup, usually 3 kinds, Ham & Bean, Oyster Stew (my fav), and either Potato or Chili, that we end up eating for a week after :)

Sulley- Thanks for the help. I messed up my pictures Could you help me combine pics? If you could. Thanks

If you can PM me with the original size pictures, I can get them combined for you and send them back

Oh I will (I'm gonna get them to look at menus tonight) :)....I still need to do mine for Jan :rolleyes1...

I see we are in the Christmas spirit today!!! :santa:

Well, we used to always have Christmas Eve with DH's family. But for some reason his family has gotten away from the family get togethers in recent years. :confused3 So now it's pretty much just my family. We usually go to my DM's or DB & DSIL's for our Christmas with my DM. Usually light foods & snacks on the weekend before Christmas. Mom's not much into big holiday meals anymore. She always gives the kids a ton of presents. Way too much! I'm currently trying to talk her into just getting them a few things each instead of a bunch of stuff. . . Then it's Christmas Eve service at Church. Then my DDad and DStepMom and DB & DSIL & DNephew come here on Christmas day and I cook a huge meal. That's the way we like it, we vowed to never leave the house on Christmas day when we had kids!

Crazy me...

I just changed my DISboards background to the Holiday theme. :lmao:

Now every time I log on, there's Mickey, wishing me "Happy Holidays".:santa:

Um, what day does that calendar say?????????:rolleyes1

Hi everyone!

It is very warm here today - 79 right now. We are going to have a very nice weekend weatherwise.

All this talk of Christmas makes me hungry for some strange reason.

Has anyone done a Christmas vacation with your family instead of all the running around from house to house? Those are the best kind in my book!

hi Seacrest!

I have a ham and homemade rolls in my ovens! Pop in for a bite!:goodvibes

Your weather sounds wonderful. It's been raining on and off here all day.
The kids are miserable.

I wanted to tell you that I recorded a show on Disneyland off of the Travel channel the other day. We watched it and now I really want to try Disneyland. I think, however, after the big announcement that was just made, we will definitely hold off a bit. Wanna' get the most bang for the buck, you know!

Jo

Shelly, with that price, you can't beat it! I have heard of them, but don't know anything about it. However, in watching their previews, I got a bit dizzy.

Are you going to get it?

Jo

I'll be right over Jo - I will bring my German potato and tomato salad to share!

Rain is bleh! It is a bummer the kids have to stay inside all day.

My son went surfing today, he said it was really nice out there, I wish I didn't have to go into the office today. Too nice of a day to work.

I love watching the TC Disney shows. They are very cool.

Five years is a long time to wait...remember Walt's words, "Disneyland will never be completed..." They are always building something new at the parks. Don't let that stop you from visiting sooner! LOLOL

i hear you Jo i think after our May 08 trip we will hold off until we go to DL. It sounds as if it will be great.......after this trip i won't be able to afford another for a while in june 2010 me and my sisters are getting together to throw my mother a huge 50th bday party. so that means $$$ .... so disney will have to wait until after 2010.

BTW you are getting me hungry with ur ham and rolls... yummy yummy in my tummy....

I too would love  to get to Disneyland someday soon! Just not sure how the kids would handle the flight. DS 8 already says it's way to long to Florida (under 2 hours!).

I did it. I fixed my sig. Boy that was a pain in the butt.

Sulley- Thanks for the help. I found the original pic I saved and I will use that for now. Congrats on your mom and sister. That is great.
