Day 4, May 17th - We got up around 6:45 a.m. today and headed over to the Pepper Market for a few items to go for breakfast.

We drove over to Magic Kingdom, and I it hit me...I forgot my money! Arrgh! I had put my cash in the safe and I forgot to take out some for the day. Fortunately, CSR is only 5 minutes away and it was only 7;30 a.m. So I drove back and got the money and back over to Magic Kingdom parking lot. Since it was EMH, we were only 3 or 4 rows away from the entrance tunnel to the Monorails.

Not a lot people yet - Cool! We got off the monorail and headed over to bag check and there I notice my shoe untied. Went through security and bent down to tie my shoe and my video camera fell out and took a few bumps. Great! I was ticked. Check it over and tested it out...it survived. Excellent!

Since we are Californians, and have been to Disneyland gazillion times, there were moments of where you question yourself where you are. It is funny how your mind works. This is a beautiful park. So much room and largeness.

Our first ride was Stitch in Tomorrowland. Walked on, no wait. Pretty fun and quirky. Next was Space Mountain. Another walk on. I would give it a 8. They need to update it a bit. We rode the People Mover...a classic! I wish we still had ours at Disneyland! Such memories! Sniff!

We headed over to Adventureland and the Tiki Room. Umm...they should have not done such drastic changes to this attraction, but it was still enjoyable. Next was Pirates! Walk on! Awesome, but too short! We want more pirates! Rode it twice! After that we went to Haunted Mansion and then headed over to Country Bear Jamboree. That brings back some great memories! I am glad they still have that at MK. Onto Splash Mountain and we got soaked and then Big Thunder Mountain. I think we waited only 20 minutes for each ride. We were able to ride a whole lot of rides!

We had lunch at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. It was good and tasty. I like the fixings bar setup for your burgers.

We jumped onto the train in Frontierland and took it Main Street. It was amazing to see how much property that Disney has behind the park that is undeveloped. We went into the photo store on Main St and look at our pictures. My wife was still wearing her birthday button and the CM said Happy Birthday and gave her special "Year of Million Dreams" pins. One to keep and one to give away. Awesome! Ordered our pictures and off to the VMK store.

My wife and son are VMK addicts, so they had to do all the quests and submit the forms they completed at home. I think we were there for about 30 minutes. We then had some great ice cream at Eby. Then back over to Tomorrowland.

We walked onto Mikes Laugh Factory show...it was ok, Turtle Talk is funnier. Then we rode the Buzz Lightyear ride! AWESOME! Next was Carosel of Progress...another Disneyland classic...it was kind of sad to see that virtually no one was on this ride. I think this one is going to be gone in the next few years. We got off the ride and smelled smoke from the wildfires in the area. Thank goodness it wasn't that strong and it never got worse during the day.

We decided it was time for our Dole Whips! Aaaaahhh...they were heavenly!
After that, we got rode the Jungle Cruise...longest wait of the day, about 30 minutes. We had Ian as our Captain. He was absolutely the best JC captain ever! I have rode this ride for over 40 years and can do the spiel in my sleep, but Ian did an outstanding job! He gets a 10+!

Another ride on POTC was next for us since we were so close.

Onto Fantasyland and IASW. I think I like this one better than DL's - because it is shorter!!! That song drives me crazy at times! We get off IASW and it begins to rain...so we head over to Mickey's Philharmagic. 10 minute wait! Cool! I would give this show a 10+++. It is so good! Even my 20 year old said it was cool. So you know it passed the test.

My favorite time at Disneyland is at sunset and now also at Magic Kingdom. It is so beautiful to see the lights go on and beautiful color is in sky. We sat around just enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

We checked out Toontown and my son rode the Barnstormer. We got out of there pretty fast...the kids were having meltdowns everywhere.

We headed back to the VMK store and the pin store next to it. It was dark now and we decided to skip Wishes and the parade and see them the next evening.

Hungry and tired, we drove over to Lonestar Steakhouse (just outside of the WDW property) and filled ourselves up. No waiting, not that busy…service was good and the food was excellent.

Back over to our hotel for swimming, jacuzzing and crashing out!

Tomorrow: Animal Kingdom!

Thanks so much! WE knew he was going in for surgery, b/c the Dr. wanted him in AGAIN b4 we left for WDW, but my dad said no. So they said they wanted him ASAP when we got back...well we all came back with a NASTY cough and it was unsafe to operate on him with that cough. So they had to wait until this week (wed.) . It's more heart surgery.

Hugs, prayers and pixie dust! Hoping he comes through this one with flying colors, just like last time :goodvibes

Seacrest, loving your trip report! Gotta start mine...things have just been a mess here. Soon guys, I promise. The trip was great Sunday-Thursday night when DH got sick, then went downhill from there :sad1: But still had lots of good times, good things to write about...

Hi Hope everyone had a great memorial day weekend. I love the story about your father-in-law seacrest. That is so touching. We loved having the chance to get caught up on everything and rest.

My DS had a party Friday night. We took 6 boys to see POTC. It was great! It was so fun to be there with the boys. They were so excited.

Best wishes to everyone who is sick. I usually come home from WDW sick but thanks to wonderful allergy meds, I didn't get sick this year.

Jo - My dd got glasses in the fall. I was devasted (thinking you will need to wear them the rest of your life, you can't see without them, it will only get worse, is it my fault, did I forget my prenatal vitamin one day), but she viewed it as an opportunity to go shopping. I even took her this weekend to look at glasses again, I want to put a pair on her that almost disappears, she wants the brightest, rainbowiest, pinkest pair there. She is very much into self expression. I hope your dd loves getting to wear them as much as mine does. She would love to have a pair in every color to match her waredrobe. We bought our first pair at the doctor's office and they were mucho costly. Our Wal-Mart has a HUGE selection and you can get a cute pair for around $125 which seems to be a good price around here. That includes the poly type lens which is safer. Also, our daughter is near-sighted and that is her only problem. My understanding is that this is an easy correction. Some problems needs more correction and more precise lenses. I hope this helps. I never had glasses so I wasn't in the know.

Just checking on to say hello

DMM- Sorry to hear about your dad - stay positive!

How was everyones long weekend? We had a bbq Sunday and we spent the afternoon yesterday at the beach. I got a BAD sunburn  I really am old enough to know better

Sorry I haven't been around lately...Here is what has been keeping me busy...This July is my family reunion and for over a year I have been working on our family tree...lots of research and time...well now it is time to put it all together in book form with pictures...I need more time!

Also we are trying to plan a DL trip for November...

I also have a family reunion in July and am thinking about DL in November or October :) I really want to go to DL during Halloween. Last year we went at the beginning of November and missed out on all the Halloweenie fun. I'm hoping those two trips help satisfy my planning urges.

I went camping and had a pretty good time. It's nice to go out in the woods now and again. And it is even nicer to come home and take a hot shower when you are done communing with nature.

Hi everyone! Just checking in.

Good luck to you and your father Michelle! pixiedust:

I am finally feeling better after the whole post trip eye infection/cold thing I had going on!!

Well after much discussion I think our next Disney trip is going to be MAY 2009!! Anyone else????? :rotfl: We will probably change our minds a hundred more times by then, but that's what's set for now. We are going to plan to go to the beach June 2008. The kids have never been to the ocean, and I have relatives in Charlotte so we figure we can go there first and then on to the beach.

We had such a nice time this May in Disney and nice weather and short lines, I figure why mess with a good thing!! So MAY 2009 here we come!! :cool1:

For now we have a few 2 day trips planned for the rest of this year. Niagara Falls in June and Hershey PA in August.

I'm enjoying hearing about everyone's trips!

I am so strange.

No, you are not strange, this is normal. Strange is spreading days and weeks old food crumbs on your freshly baked rolls, toast, bagels, etc. and then eating it - that is STRANGE and gross stuff.

Clean butter rules!

I'll do another update tomorrow and hopefully start on my dining review too. I need to remember to bring all my receipts to work so that I can detail out the cost of all the meals and see just how much we spent on the disney dime vs our own oop (read: boooooze) expenses.

Here's your daily dose of  and a :snooty: for old times sake.

I miss all of you...:sad1:
