Seacrest - tell me about CSR!!
That may be our next stop. . .

Awesome trip report Shelly!

We loved CSR! It is a beautiful place to stay. The grounds are beautiful, lots of neat wildlife. The rooms are very quiet, in fact so quiet you sense you are all alone. My kids loved the pool and the slide that they had there. The snack bar pricing was very reasonable and my boys loved the game room area.

The Pepper Market had great food. My boys love the biscuts and gravy for breakfast. They serve very large portions at moderate prices. You definitely can share a meal there and get plenty to eat.

It was so nice to have a car and drive a short distance to any park or anything else. We got a parking pass when we checked in so that we could park at any park or resort for no extra charge. I would highly recommend renting a car. You can find some great deals on the internet. The plus side is that you can drive out of the resort area and visit some of the local restaurants and stores. You can find some neat bargain places around there.

I would love to go back to CSR. There is so much to explore.

Hi Katie!

Welcome back! Sorry to hear about the sickness. Bummer dude.

Maybe you should come down to Disneyland to make up the last few days of your WDW trip.

Take care!

Yep, that's our next trip plan :goodvibes He wants to take his daughter and her little girl to Disneyland. His daughter has only been once for her senior trip, and didn't get to see much -- CA Adventure was only open for about 1 hour before she had to leave, and lots of attractions at DL were closed for the night -- and she said she couldn't find Space Mountain!!! So, we want to take her back and show her the place in style. I can't get a block of time off before next year, and his daughter is in college, so I'm thinking Spring Break 2008 (although I swore I'd never do Spring Break again, I just might ), or maybe a long weekend over President's Day or MLK Day. We ususally stay at the DL Hotel, but might switch to a "Good Neighbor" hotel across the street to get a good price on a suite, more room and more privacy. We'd have our own car since we drive down, and could drive over to the parks -- AAA often offers free parking as one of their perks. So we'll see...guess I'm sort of back in "planning mode" again :rotfl2:

Spring break can be messy. I would vote for Jan or Feb. It is very nice time and not overly busy. Knott's Berry Farm would be a good place to visit too.
Maybe we could do a meet up!

planning mode is a good mode to be in!

Yep, always something to look forward to! :thumbsup2

Yes, I'm thinking President's Day weekend, might be able to get that week off if I ask as soon as the vacation calendar opens in November. Even if she can only come with her daughter for that weekend and maybe a day or two (since she's in school), DH and I could maybe stay the rest of the week. Would love to do a meet up! Have you ever eaten at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen? The Bananas Foster is out of this world!   And isn't there a Stitch character breakfast at Paradise Pier? DH wants me to check prices on a suite there, maybe I can get some kind of deal through AAA, especially in February. But we've stayed at suites across the street -- not as nice as being right on site, but not so bad either, and a lot more reasonably priced.

No we haven't been to RBJK, but would enjoy trying it. I don't know about the character breakfasts...I have been at Goofy's Kitchen and that is a fun place. You are right, there are lots of reasonable hotels in the area that are close by. Disneyland has California Resident specials during that time of year. You can get two days for the price of one. I will keep my eyes open for any specials and mark my calendar for that weekend!

Day 6: Friday May 18 - Animal Kingdom

After that they just wanted to go back to the resort. I kind of wanted to see the Nemo show, but no one else was really interested in staying so we left.

Now it's all over. . . until next time!

You should have stayed to see the Nemo show! It was one of the BEST shows we saw at Disney!! It was really really GREAT!! You will HAVE to see it next time for sure!!!

We weren't able to see it either. It wasn't running on our AK day...May 14. I was kind of bummed, because that show, and Everest, were the only two things I really wanted to do at AK.

Hey Everyone!!

Just wanted to pop on and tell everyone to have a Great Weekend. I have been busy cooking and cleaning for my BBQ tomorrow. It should be fun.

Day 3, May 16th - Today is Mrs Seacrest's birthday! Woo Hoo!!! We got up around 6:45 am and headed out the door at 7:20 am to the Poly. We had a fantastic breakfast at the Kona Cafe. My wife had macademia nut pancakes, I had steak and eggs, the boys had pancakes and bacon. My wife said that her meal very delicious, fresh and tasty. We filled to brimmed. I told our waiteress that it was my wife's bday and at the end of the meal she brought out a cream puff filled with whipped cream and chocolate and a candle. The plate had the words "Happy Birthday" drizzelled on with chocolate - yummy! AAA+++!!!

The Poly is a beautiful hotel - note to self - come back with just the wife!

With our bellys filled with lumbered back to the car and off to Disney MGM. We pulled into our parking space and got out and heard my name. It was our friends - they had just parked 5 cars before us. No need to wait or call them today! Jumped on the tram and to the main gate - no problems! Got into the park and picked up my wife's birthday button and we were off to Tower of Terror!

Now mind you, I am not a thrill seeker type of person. Yeah, I like Big Thunder, Matterhorn, Space Mountain, etc. But I hate the feeling of falling. Do I do it? Yup, I do it! Heck I paid a lot of money to go on this trip and I am going to get my value! Fun fun ride. Very cool story line and the CM's really play the deadpan characters so well.

Next stop, Rockin' Roller Coaster...another awesome ride. My 15 year old went on that one twice. He loved it! It was starting to get hot, so we picked up some of those frozen lemonades and boy, they are tasty. Keep them coming!

We then headed over to the Great Movie Ride. Can't say that I love it or hate it the ride. I thought that the scenes were interesting and the interaction that goes on was unique. However, the CM we had, MJ, was sooooo corny. He was overdoing it all the time. He must of been bored. Anyways, it was a good place to sit, relax and cool off for a while too.

After that we went to the Magic of Disney Animation and got our family picture taken Mr and Mrs Incredible. I think that they will have to change it to Disney-Pixar soon!

We then headed over to see One Man's Dream. Very, very cool presentation. We have a similar presentation at California Adventure, but I think that the models and displays here are very neat. This is a must see and it is very inspiring to those who also want to leave their mark on this world.

Next stop was Lights, Camera and Action Stunt Show. Loved it! Lots of action and very entertaining. Don't miss it!

Onto the Backlot Tour. This is the most pathetic thing in the world. I am sorry folks - but this was just a waste of time. I think the only reason why Disney keeps it is the fire and water scene set. They must of spent a fortune to build it. The AFI display at the exit area was much more interesting that the entire tour. Disney needs to rework tour. It could be something interesting...maybe.

We headed over to the Star Tours ride because our dinner was going to be at Sci Fi Drive In. Star Tours wasn't busy at all and we had plenty of time before our reservation so we rode it. The ride and inside theming is exactly like Disneyland's. Deja vu!

Dinner time at Sci Fi! We have been looking forward to this. Had great seats, the food was very good and tasty. We sang happy birthday to my wife and had ice cream sundaes. Took lots of pictures. My wife had to have some special pictures taken because she and my son are VMK nuts. The old B movies trailers are a hoot...our favorite B movie, Plan Nine from Outer Space was featured. You all got to see that one. Worst movie of all time - no kidding.

After dinner we started to head back to the main gate. We were going to take a rest and a swim at the hotel and come back later for Fantasmic.

Got back to the hotel and there was my surprises for my wife. Gift bags, balloons and special card from Mickey and friends. Memories by Sarah did an excellent job! My wife was completely surprise and she loved her stuff! Yahoo!
We all went swimming and jacuzzing and then came back to our room to get ready to go back and see Fantasmic.

As we walked out our hotel room, a huge downpour of rain came out of the sky. I think it must of lasted about 20-30 minutes. We thought to ourselves Fantasmic is cancelled. So we waited until it let up and went over to Downtown Disney to walk around a bit and see the sites. It was so nice after the rain...a bit humid, but enjoyably warm at night.

9:00 p.m. came and all of sudden we heard the fireworks...first at Magic Kingdom, then Epcot...awww man. As we drove back to our hotel we could hear the Fantasmic show at MGM...bummer! That's ok...we will still get to see it.

Back at the hotel we went back into the pool and jacuzzi again and then to bed.

Tomorrow - Magic Kingdom!

Evening everyone - we are having an awesome time here at WDW. Have not sighted a single Mayer, and trust me we have had the buttons on every minute at the parks. We sure have had a lot of questions from CMs about the buttons though. Would make you all proud with our responses!!!
Just one more full day, heading to AK. Enjoy your Sunday everyone. Caroline

Hi LTM! Glad to hear that you are having a great time at WDW! I am so proud of you wearing your Mayer buttons so faithfully. I hope you run into a fellow Mayer soon!
