I am so excited!

it rained this morning & is sprinkling now. we are headed to the game. we stopped by jc penney to buy sweat shirts for me & dd. it is cooler than I expected. have a great day mayers.

oh yea, I am posting from my phone.

Well, yesterday ranks right up there with one of the absolute best days of my life.:lovestruc

If we had've been in WDW, I would have been sure it was a dream won, but OMG- we are all grining this morning form the sheer excitement of it all.

NC- On Friday night, we went out to eat and then on the way home, we rode past the Hotel, and saw the bus- Mark pulled up and said go inside and see if it's the Gators, since we couldn't tell whose bus it was.

I looked for you, but you were no where to be found. However, coming around the corner, I bumped into a huge football player- he was a Razorback, and I couldn't figure out why he was there- don't know who he was, but he had pads on his knees. BIG dude.

Anyway- we woke Sat morning to rain and thunder and lightning- got on the road at 8:30- a little later than expected. Of course it rained until almost time to go into the game. Tailgating was wonderful- great to see friends.

The game was awesome- we were in the last row in the tippity top in the nosebleed section- and it was so windy- but OMG we had so much fun with all the Gator fans!!!!!!! It was like a big love fest! We were all strangers with one thing in common. What a fun time! At the half, I saw 5 seats down lower and since the kids were freezing, we moved down, surrounding ourselves amongst the Hog fans. They were kind, and we tried not to be too obnoxious or exuberant with our "Gator Chomps.":goodvibes

The end of the game happened- and I had told Mark that I wanted to hang around to see if we could catch a glimpse of the team coming out.

That's when the fun began.......:woohoo:

I'll post again in a bit.......

.......WITH pics.:rolleyes1

HB to Shelly's DS! :bday: I want one of those cookies!

It's too quiet in here with NC and Jo both on the road...

Jo, I swear, you are the QUEEN of Cliffhangers! :hyper: You make us wait, but it's always worth it :goodvibes C'mon, let's hear the rest of your story...

hey all...

KB - YAY on your upcoming trip.....

Well my mom had a big get together at her house today. One of my aunts drove down from Canada and one of my aunts came up from Guatemala so she had a luncheon. It was nice a lot of my family went over. We had a great time talking about the past... it was great.....

Good morning MAYers! :goodvibes

Mari - how have you been? We've missed you around here. Did you go to the WDW celebration at Times Square? I decided not to go to Pittsburgh today.

RF - did you make it downtown Saturday night for the fireworks? I saw them on TV. Are you going to the WDW celebration thing today?

Congrats on DL Katie!! :goodvibes :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay:

Good Morning!

Shelly - I'm not going to make it over - I started a bank today and I just couldn't bring myself to ask to leave early on my first day learning it. No, we didn't go down on saturday - I forget what we did - lol - that's sad....

KB - Congrats on the trip! I still think that you should try and come to WDW a little earlier in '09
:rolleyes1

I am trying to book my airfare today and it doesn't appear to be time for that yet...:headache:  They still only have through May 14th available.

I guess I am just gonna have to wait.......... :bored:

NC & Jo - Glad you guys had fun at the game

Mari - sounds like a fun party!

Hello to everyone else! :flower3:

Sorry about posting yesterday and then not coming back to give the update.

We grilled steaks and had lunch then watched the game on DVR.

Hope everyone's weekend was fab.

KB- awww- that is wonderful that you have DL to look forward to! It's funny when the bug gets you- you just can't get enough. As for me being the Queen of Cliffhangers- I guess that's ok- I mean, everyone's gotta be somethin', I think, LOL!!!

RF- good luck getting flights- I hope you can get a good deal!

Shelly- did your little b'day boy have a great weekend?

Mari- the party sounds like fun!:goodvibes

now- without further "cliffhangers"------on with the show!

I know that these pics and this story isn't going to mean anything to anyone that isn't a Gator fan- but believe me when I say this has been quite the weekend in our house. Drew has been completely overcome with emotion since the game.

He is, at 9 years old- a typical boy- loves sports- but Gator Football is where dreams are made. He knows every single player by name, face, stats, what the player did during last years game against which team- how many carries, yards, who made touchdowns... you name it, the kid can quote it.

When the game was over, we went over to where the players were walking off the field, around the backside.

Well, there was this alleyway outside of the stadium, and there were Gator fans starting to group up there. We looked and the buses were starting to come towards the alley.

So we went running down there and then the buses backed in behind us- they all had signs on them. One for Mgrs/trainers, one for players, etc. Our backs were right at the bus, we were facing the alcove- and there was a semi with the Gator head and Gator football with "National Champions" and the years on the side, backed into the alcove. There were around 200 people (even some Razorback fans- which we haven't figured out yet???:lmao: ) all crammed into this tight little space- and somehow- I don't know how- the crowds moved and the kids and me and Mark somehow found ourselves in the front- right next to where the players were starting to come out. Every single player that came out- had to walk right past us. Drew named every one of them. Some of them were shaking hands and signing autographs.

Now he has two favorites- Percy Harvin #1 and of course, our beloved Heisman Trophy Winner- Tim Tebow #15. But b/c both of these young men are so popular- their trainers won't let them sign autographs- people were taking them and selling them on ebay.

So when Percy came out- we weren't expecting much interaction, so Drew is on Mark's shoulders and as he was walking towards us- people were reaching out to him- yelling and he was being ushered past the crowds. People are shoving pens in his face, he's shaking his head, and as he got closer, Drew yells out to the top of his little precious lungs, "PERCY!! PERCY!!" and reaches out his hand to him. Percy stops, looks dead at Drew and reaches up, grabs his hand and yells "Little Man!"
I am in disbelief. I yell- can we get a picture, please? And he shakes his head yes and says "Picture with Little Man!" and everyone has to back up for Mark to bend down to get all three of them in the picture.
I almost passed out. Mark say thank you to him and pats his shoulder (he said it was like hitting a brick wall he's so muscular-) Percy says you're welcome, and pats Drew's leg. I look up, and Drew has tears in his eyes, he is so overwhelmed.

Everyone is waiting, whispering where's Tebow- he was the main reason everyone was there.

Now, if you don't know anything about Tim Tebow, I have to urge you to google him.
There are so many people that children today look up to and most of them are not worthy of our children's admiration. Not true with Tim.
He is a man of high morals and character and Drew really respects him.

By this time in the story, we had been pushed backwards a bit from the shoving, people trying to get a better look at Tebow standing way off in the alley. So Mark tells Mcat to take Drew by the hand and they somehow get back up in front of everyone. Mark, Belle and i are standing back towards the back of the crowd. Our coach, Urban Meyer, comes walking out with his security guards and is ushered onto the bus. And then, here they come with Tebow- security thick- cameras flashing- everyone yelling his name-as he is being ushered towards the bus- and as he gets right in front of Mcat and Drew, Drew yells- again-- "tim!TIM!!" and Tebow looks right at him and grins and waves to him:

I saw the way they were heading towards the bus and instead of following the crowd as they went after him- I headed the group off and came face to face with him, his Father and his Mother.

And I was able to talk briefly to his Mom as he was being put onto the bus. And she is very gracious and unassuming. A lovely person. Someone I admire- for raising a son like him in today's world.

So after they put him on the bus, the engines roared and they took off- cop sirens blaring, giving the team an escort to the airport and we were left, hearts full of amazement and happiness all around for a Little Boy's dream fullfilled.

As the crowd was dispersing, a crewman was walking along with a trolley full of equipment, on his way to the semi to load up, and he hit a bump and all of it fell off of the trolley. So I nudged Mark, who was looking the other way and he went over and helped the guy out. In about 10 seconds, one of the Team Mgrs- who was late getting on the very last bus came walking briskly by, asking if Mark was the one who helped the fellow out. When he said he was, the guy asked if we were going to next weeks game against LSU. Mark said no, but we'd be there for Homecoming against Kentucky. The guy said - come to the pregame show. There's some stuff I'd like to give you. And with that, he jumped on the bus and they were gone.
Ahhhhh- glorious, glorious SEC football. Ain't nothin' like it.:goodvibes

Hope everyone has a good day----
Thanks for reliving the story with me.:lovestruc

Jo

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend.

It was "gay days" at DLR this weekend. Also Miley Cyrus had her sweet sixteen party Sunday night at DL. DL was open at 6:30 am and closed at 5:00 for the private party. Cyrus' concert stage was Tom Sawyer's island. There was a lot of sound and lighting equipment being set all day and night when we were there.

Both parks were pretty busy. The weather was perfect - in the 70's. Finally I broke 200,000 on TSM. The secret to the ride is accuracy and opening up all the secret "easter eggs" so that you can get the bigger bonuses.

KB - that is awesome about your upcoming trip to DLR.

Shelly, RF, Mari - Howdy!

NC - Sorry to hear about your team!

Jo - Congrats to the Gators!

Seacrest

Jo - What an awesome story and pictures! Thank you for sharing that with us! Can't wait to hear about what happens at the pregame show at homecoming.

Another Jo cliffhanger!

You didn't miss the HM overlay pics. I am going to take pictures this upcoming weekend when the crowds are a bit lighter and I can frame my shots. Also, I hear that Jack Skellington and Sally are now out over at the HM too. So I want to get pictures of them as well.

Oh hey Katie - I hear that for Christmas this year, Main St. is going to have icicles overlay and as well as the Castle again. It is going to look very festive at night!

Shelly - did you see that the "WWYC" (lol - that's what i have dubbed it because it is way too long to type every time) festivities are going on until 6pm tonight! I think Bob and I are going to head over after work now!!!! I am excited - but I don't have my camera :sad1: I'll just have to give you guys a descriptive analysis when I get home

Hey all i didn't make it to times square on Friday.... I should have gone but i don't remember why i didn't go....

Jo - you must have been excited.... I'm not a gator fan but I know how much you love all that stuff....

I'm buying my air for our jan trip... so far all i have found is 248 pp roundtrip with no stops... i don't think i'll get better then that honestly... we are all trying to get the same flights out and back... we all spoke about it this weekend when we got together. We are all buying our air by the end of the month.

Hi everybody...gotta turn in but just wanted to say hi!

Sea, I can't wait to see DL at Christmas time. :goodvibes I don't think I've been there at Christmas since I was maybe 8. I just found out my good friend from work and fellow Disney geek is going to be down there the exact same days we will! Did you want to try to meet one of the days? Maybe Saturday? We could check out DCA -- Brrt would have someone to ride ToT with, and you could show us how to score big on TSM :thumbsup2 Just let me know if that might work out for you guys...

Jo, I absolutely loved your story! Told ya it was always worth the wait  What a wonderful memory for your whole family, but especially for your DS.

OK, that's it for me, gotta zonk...peace out, Mayer friends. :hippie:

Morning all.... Well today i'm off to take my DD to the NJ children's museum...She is going to love it... It's about 10 min away from me... I never even heard of this museum until last night when i was looking things up to do with my DD..... I can't wait... the camera is charging but the DD is still sleeping i'm ready to go but she does need to be up.. right???

Well talk to you guys later.....

Hi All!

Mari - Sounds like a fun day for you and your dd. Tell us all about it.

Jo - Sounds like you guys had a hoot at the game. Great pics of your favorite gators.

Things are busy here. It is the last week of registration for Race for the Cure. I off to volunteer once again at the boutique. I hope everything sells. That way we do not have much to box up and we raise more money for the Komen Foundation.

Have a great day!!!!

KB, Saturday, Dec. 13th would work for us. Love to show you the hidden "easter eggs" to get the higher value targets in TSM and of course ride TOT a few times. Looking forward to meeting you and your husband! :cool1:

WOW was it quiet today. Well my DD LOVED LOVED LOVED the children's museum. I have pics but i'll post them in the am. It was good we got there around 10 am and we were there until 12:30. She sat through a storytime and a open art session. After that i went over to TDS to pick up Sleeping beauty or as my DD says "Cinder Beauty". Then off to my moms and I just got home right now. Trying to get my DD to sleep but not working too great...

morning all!

sorry i didn't check in yesterday - i had a half day and the computer at my parents is still not up and running....

guess what!!!!!!........................................................................................................................ ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ ............................................................:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I BOOK MY WDW TRIP TODAY!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

It is exactly 7 months from when we want to go - so Bob gave me the green light! I am booking at lunchtime today!
:woohoo: :dance3: :yay:  :cool1: :worship: :thumbsup2 :lovestruc :cheer2:

OK- I don't have much time, but I wanted to say that the "celebration tour" was a bust! It was soooo lame - all it was, was Radio Disney playing some mylie cyrus and like 10 computers set up so people could register their B-Day for their promotion.

I hear that it was better in the afternoon - some characters were there and they were giving balloons out to kids - but still, from what I understand - the 'burgh got pretty ripped off from what they did for other cities. In detroit, apparantly they set up a mock "Main Street USA" :headache: Oh well, It only cost me a buck to park and I did register so, all in all - worth the 10 minute drive over.

OK - gotta go! Have a great day MAYers!
