Happy Hump Day MAYers!

WooHoo - We have made it to mid-week.

This is a 3-Day weekend! :woohoo: What is everyone doing?

We are going to Fayetteville this weekend for the U of A game Sat. night. We are staying at our favorite hotel and having made to order omlets on Sunday morning. My dd doesn't really care for the game, but she abides it so she can have one of those omlets and pancakes!

I need to pick-up contacts for my dd. We are down to one. How does that happen? :confused3 You would think it would be even numbers. :confused3

Have a great day! Report in what you are doing for Labor day!

MORNING ALL!!!!

Shelly - sorry that you got 1 less day at WDW but you saved money.... Atleast you get there early so you have that day to hang out at the resort.

Clekait - Good luck with the surgery. Keep us posted....

RF - Have a great weekend. Enjoy the party.

I'm loving being home. With no work to do. I'm still looking into the RN courses but everything already started so i will have to wait until next year. I'm still looking into it. The only one that starts in Oct cost 19000 for a 12 month course. That is crazy. But hey you go to do what you have to do.

Good morning Kait, NC, and Mari!! :goodvibes

Glad you are enjoying your time at home Mari! We actually won't be missing much by arriving the next morning, since we would have been arriving so late the night before. I feel much better about having a morning flight anyway! Hopefully there won't be any delays and we will arrive in Orlando by 11:30. Then we will have dinner that evening at 1900 Park Fare and go to MK for Wishes!! We've never gone to MK on our arrival day before!

No real plans here for Labor Day weekend yet. DH and I were just talking about it last night and haven't come up with anything. It's the kids last weekend before school and soccer starts, so we want to do something!

Where have all the MAYers gone??? Huggie, Lake, JO. . . . Okay, no one else is allowed to disappear! :rotfl:

I am afraid this thread is dying!

Hi Guys! It has been a bit crazy here with my wife changing jobs and helping her set up her classroom and me working from home again. It is going to take some time to get into our new routine.

On Monday, I was driving over to the office to pick up the rest of my stuff and as I was waiting at the light in the left hand turn lane about 4 cars back, two cars collided in the intersection. One of the cars spun around the intersection and the back end of his car hit a pedestrian that was standing next to the traffic light pole. The car had pushed him against the pole. It must of broke his legs and spinal cord. He was a mess. I saw it all happen right before my eyes. I called 911 - fortunately there was a motorcycle cop in the area, and the paramedics got there in about 4 or 5 minutes. It was too much to handle, I left my name with the police if they needed a witness report. Scary stuff.

Anyways - what a way to start the week.

Going out today to see a couple of clients and set up some meetings. Business is a bit slow, but it is normal this time of year between the end of summer and beginning of school.

Hi Shelly - Why don't you and family come out to California and we will go to DL & DCA together on Labor Day? :cool1:

Mari - I know it can be stressful deciding what you want to do career wise. I know you will make the best choice for you and your family. In the meantime, enjoy this time off and have some fun.

NC - Happy Hump-Day to you too! No big plans this weekend except a BBQ and getting ready for my parents 50th party the next weekend.

RF - Sounds like you are going to have a great weekend!

We'll have our laptop, does anyone know if there is internet access at POFQ?

Oh, Sea, that's awful :guilty: I'm glad the paramedics got there quickly...

It would be cool if all the Mayers could go to DL, and Sea and his crew and me and mine could give you the grand tour!!! I consider DL my real "hometown" but I'll bet Sea could show me a lot of tips and tricks -- like how to score a bazillion on Buzz Lightyear  Maybe I'll do a belated trip report for my trip in February with my stepdaughter and granddaughter...we had so much fun princess:

RF, safe trip to you...

Mari, nursing would be really awesome -- especially if you already have some of the beginning stuff out of the way. Let us know what you decide to do...

This weekend we are going to Mendocino and Fort Bragg just for Saturday, Saturday night, and Sunday, coming home probably late afternoon Sunday. It's about a 4 hour drive, but so beautiful and peaceful there...we will kick around the tidepools at Mendocino Headlands, take Noah to Glass Beach, and poke around the trippy stores and art galleries -- it's one of my favorite places :goodvibes

Morning all.....

KB - have fun this weekend... i would love to go to DL sometime.... even if just for the weekend... a long weekend... but i would love it. we'll see what happens.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we can go to wdw this may... very doubtful but a girl can hope....

gotta go get breakfast for my DD will check in later....

oh yeah kb about internet they do but u have to pay for it....

Good morning! Checking in...got a meeting to go to...wanted to say HI!. Check back in later. - Sea

Good afternoon Mayers!

Has anyone ever left their car in long term parking at an airport? Was your car fine when you got back? I'm really torn -- my son was going to drive us, but turns out he will be out of town. There is the airport van that will pick us up, but it's like $20 per person, each way -- so that would be $80 for the ride to and from the airport. Most of my friends work very early in the morning, so I don't want to impose on them to drive us to the airport late (our plane leaves at like...12:30 am Fri 9/19, so we have to be there about 10 or 10:30 pm Thursday night. Long term parking might end up costing us more...I just don't know... :confused3

hey KB - i would just pay the bus. for 20 a person it will be 160 both ways but at least that way u don' have to worry about your car while you r on vacation. you can enjoy it without being worried about ur car. i was going to pay the cab this year but thank god one of my friends was able to take us. good luck on that. Maybe there is some other cab company you can take. Look around... u might find something cheaper... good luck....

KB - Absolutely we could put on a fabulous DLR trip for all of our Mayer friends! When are you coming down again for another visit? I missed you in February.

Speaking of Buzz...I was in Orange County today visiting with a client and afterwards, since DL is only about 8 miles away, I skipped on over and rode Buzz and ranked #2!!! Then I went over to DCA and rode TOT. After that went to DTD and picked up a new Halloween shirt that my wife saw and liked. Before I left, I got a pretzel and cherry granita from Wetzels. A fun quickie at DLR! :cool1:

Not my highest score ever but still #2!

Lame pose! The lady next to me was a first time rider - a really good screamer!

Yes, I have done this several times at LAX and it was very economical and the car was safe. Most of these lots have security guards that roam the parking lots 24/7 and they are well lit and managed. Check online for more details at your particular departing airport.

Hi KB! Just wanted to let you know the NewCrews always long term park. I don't even take my DH to the airport. Our airport has great security so not a problem. The only thing that ever happened to us was that one time I left an interior light on in the car so our car battery was dead when we got back. :sad2: That wasn't any fun at all.
