OH may NC's microwave RIP... it had a good life in the NC's home.

hey guys.... well yesterday was my sister's babyshower. I am SO TIRED.... i couldn't wait for it to be over... but her boyfriend let me in on a little secret... he's going to propose soon so here i go with planning again... but her shower was beautiful we did it a tiffany theme since that is so up her alley... i can't wait to get pics so i can post the pic of her cake very cute....

Today i'm off of work i have to go to brooklyn to those not from here it's about 45 min from where i live and traffic there is HORRIBLE... well my stepson was beat up by like 20 guys and they broke his jaw in 2 places so he had surgery this morning so we are off to see him a little later.... thank god he's moving back with us to our little town of hawthorne where nothing happens....

will check in later.... i hope everyone enjoys their day....

Oh Mari - The shower sounds wonderful and I cannot wait to see pics of the cake, but your stepson. Oh my, how awful. I do hope he is ok. I am sure you guys have been worried sick. It is so good that he is coming back to live with you. I do hope he is ok. I hope the traffic isn't too bad.

mornin-

Mari- I hope your Step son is okay. Gosh, that is just awful! When is he moving in with you?

NC- wwhen are you going to Vegas?? Where will you stay? Dh used to go there for business. He said The Venetian is indescribable. This coming from a man who has stayed everywhere, it would seem.:)

Sea- Blue Man group- I don't think I'd like it either. Seems odd to me...:confused3 How's your weather? Hey- I keep forgetting to ask you- are you going to WDW in the fall?

Hello to everyone else----

I am missing WDW---'

the stress of these past few weeks is getting to me.

On Friday, Belle rode her scooter alllllllllllll the way across the front of the Acura and scratched it deeeeeeeeep. No wax has worked.

Yesterday afternoon, Drew stuck his fist through the screen door, so that will have to be replaced.

And all day long yesterday, Mary Cat cried b/c she didn't bring home a ginormous project that was due this morning first period. She was responsible for typing it up for her group. THEN, when she went to go get in her bed to sleep, she tripped and get this--- her knee hit the corner of the wall- and it bent the metal joist in the wall and the sheetrock crumbled. It's going to be quite a repair. She had an awful day. LOL- so did Mark. hahaha

But, all was not awful..... it was Beau Gator the Bulldog's birthday so we had a party for him!!! He got a bone, two different types of treats and a cupcake. We sang happy B-day to him and he ripped open his presents.
Yes, he is as spoiled as me. He's Momma's baby.:lovestruc

Waiting for the word of an offer on the job so we can contact the realtor.
Cleaning today----- trying to keep busy and keep my mind off of the future.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Jo

It looks like the conference is at Mandalay Bay which looks wonderful on-line. We are talking about staying there during the conference and then moving more center strip. He has stayed at the Mirage and loved it so he really wants to stay there again. The Venetian looks wonderful. I wouldn't mind staying there. I also think The Paris looks great and the Bellagio looks heavenly to me. I watched a couple of things on the travel channel this weekend and have my DVR set to record a few more. There are so many cool places to stay. I just hope it all works out.

Poor Belle, and your poor house. I still have not Kilzed and painted the ceiling from Chloe flooding her bathroom. The repairs are just piling up around here.

Is the move for sure now?

:cool1: Hey Guys,

Remember me!!:hyper:

I am been so busy around here. School is over and these kids are driving me insane. My laptop also died so I am using my work one which is slow so it is painful to use.

Jo- Congrats!! How far is Arkansas from PA?

Mari- Sorry about your stepson

NC- Sorry about your microwave

Shelly- Hi

Seacrest- Hey

Hi to RF, Katie and JC

Off to go buy a freezer, Dh and I got roped into a meat delivery service and now I need something to store all the meat in. It should be good I spend way to much money and time in the grocery store and so I hope this helps

Good morning Mayer friends...

Mari, great news for your sis...very sorry to hear about your step son! Hope he is doing ok, and glad he is moving back home.

NC, what a pain when much-used appliances die. And of course, it couldn't just be easy to replace, had to be complicated, right? :headache: Our last major appliance that died was the fridge, last May. DH was out of state, so I measured the spot, went to Sears, found a fridge that I THOUGHT was the right size...when they delivered it, it was barely the right height to fit under the cabinet, but quite a bit more narrow than the last one...and we lost like 2 cu ft of space...which is a LOT. Good thing we don't have a huge family, because hardly anything fits in this thing! And my stove died 1 week before Thanksgiving a couple of years ago...had to run out and buy one immediately, or how could I make turkey and pie???  And to think what pioneer women used to have to use to keep their families fed and their houses clean. I don't think that rug beaters broke as often as vacuums do... :rotfl2:

Jo, pixie dust to you for no more mishaps with cars or screen doors, and no job/moving/waiting stress! :wizard:

Had a fun weekend with my boys and DH...played some computer games, got bills paid, grocery shopping done, car washed, laundry washed, had a BBQ...and the house is STILL a mess :scared1: Wish I could just take 3 days off and stay home alone to clean.

Sea, it's been really warm up here too, 103 on Friday, but it calmed down a little after that, now high 90's. Yesterday was horrible, lots of smoke from fires caused by lightning strikes. Looks ugly-hazy again today, hard to breathe for those of us with asthma :worried:

My mom finally picked a senior's apartment to move in to! Now I gotta buy a plane ticket, and will fly out there probably 7/12-7/18 to get her moved in. Not the way I wanted to use my vacation time, but I'm grateful I have the time to take -- she is 78, my step-dad is 76, and they just can't care for themselves at home anymore. The place is beautiful, 3 meals a day, housekeeping once a week, has a clinic, pharmacy, beauty/barber shop, card/billiard room, library, movie theater room, activities, transportation to the doctor and the store, field trips, etc. I think they will both be a lot happier.

OK, gotta fly! Have a great day you guys!

Katie - I hope your mom and step dad enjoy their apartment. It is so hard to do something like that. My mom is an only child so when it came time to help my grandparents, I helped my mom a lot. In fact, I found my granddad's apartment and was the one that got him to go look at it. He wouldn't go with my mom. He was pretty stubborn. I guess it runs in the family. He loved his apartment. They had parties all the time and I was always having to get a costume together for him or a gag gift or something. I hope your parents enjoy their place as much as my grandfather enjoyed his.

APPLIANCE UPDATE - My dh went to check on the microwave at a local store this morning. Of course it is not in-stock and would need to be ordered but was $25 less. My current appliances are white. My stove top clicks endlessly when cooking. Like all of the burners are trying to ignite even though I am only using one. If you cook for 30 minutes they click all the time. If you cook for 2 hours, they click for 2 hours. :headache: Well, the guy at the store said, you may as well just buy a new stove top. My neighbor just had her stovetop repaired for a similar issue and spent over $200. I think for that amount, I really might like to just get a new stove top. I know it will be more (like $800 more), but $200 is lot to put into an 8 year old stove and we are now planning to stay in this house for awhile. Then my CH thru in should we change to from white appliances to stainless. :confused3

I have no idea what to do. :scared1:

morning everyone!!!

yeah huggie's back!!!

mari - i am so sorry about your SS, I hope everything works out. did he know the guys that did it or was it random? either way that is awful and i hope your all ok.

jo - any clue when you'll know anything about moving? i would be a basketcase  good luck!

nc - yeah for stainless appliances!!! that's exciting!!:yay: i would go for it for sure - even though you will be living there for a while - stainless is always better for resale value - it almost always fits everyones taste :thumbsup2

we are actually looking for a house right now, kinda - ish... :rotfl: we have no money for a down payment, but i got some pretty solid advice from my grandfather so we are starting to look .... here's a cute one that we are considering

http://www.howardhanna.com/property/property.asp

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

yah right!!! here's the one that we are really considering - I think it's pretty cute and it's actually in a good part of penn hills

http://www.howardhanna.com/property/property.asp

sooo - both buying a house and going on vacations next year may be too much for our tiny little newlywed budget to afford so..... we may have to wait and see about wdw for next year ... :worried: .... we'll see - i will do my best though

we were going over bob's union info and it seems that his salary cap is much smaller than we originally thought it was going to be and he is activly seeking other employment - so, if any of you 412/724 ladies know of any openings at your hubbies jobs for someone with no experience and no skills  who wants to switch professions - let my hubby know :thumbsup2 - because apparantly working at a tiny family owned print shop is not the way to make our millions ... :confused3 .... who knew? :rotfl2:

have a great day everyone!!!

Today's the day we find out about the move.

I am nervous because I already know in my heart that it is happening. We're just waiting for the "official" word.

All day long yesterday, I just walked around looking at everything that needs to get done. I guess today I will have my stressed out crying/ throwing up session so that i can get busy and down to business afterwards. Everytime we get the news that we are moving, I have to have a few hours to get it out of my system, then I am okay for the rest of the time.

So if you could, please say a quick prayer for our family today and ask God to give us peace and that we can sell the house quickly. Thanks MAYers, you're the bestest friends ever.

Jo

PS--- NC--- does your brother have children in the S'dale public school system? Could you PM me if they do and let me know if they are happy with them?
We are pretty sure B'ville is where we'll go back to, but I wanted to make sure we exhaust all possibilities.
Mark already has been online to see if there are tix available for the AR/FL game- :rotfl2:

BTW---- if you can--- go all stainless in your kitchen. If you aren't selling for a bit-- start with one appliance at a time til you get them replaced. My BFF has a sub zero fridge and i have fridge envy. It's gorgeous.

Okay- I just read that back and the first thing that popped into my head was "How could a thing that holds a Pork Butt and a Rump Roast be gorgeous?":lmao: I'm losing it, LOL.

J~

RF- hey-
I can't pull up the listings? It just goes to the HH website.

How are you doing? I hope your Dh gets a job soon....

There's a lot of places to work downtown, aren't there? Surely he can find something around here.

My Dh is taking our son to the Pirates/Yankees game tomorrow night. Drew is excited b/c he gets to stay up late--- then go to school the next day and brag to his friends, LOL.
Their last day of school is friday and I am so beyond ready for them to be done!!!!

Jo

alright - i am a failure

that's not working either

if you go to http://www.visualtour.com/ and type in 1402 Elliott Street
Verona, PA 15147 in the search - and click on the 89,900 green balloon on elliott street that should work - maybe - hopefully :wizard:

i got to see the house very nice.... great for a beginner house.... 89 i WISH they were like that over here... sheesh i need to move to your neck of the woods.... the house that i LOVED here was like 650K.... a little over the budget.... we still like in an apartment... my DH doesn't want to worry about having to fix things.. in our apt something goes wrong we call the landlord. but yeah i need to move to PA.....

Morning all.......well my ss doesn't know who beat him up. Poor kid for 2 weeks he has to live off liquid.... and clear liquids. So i'm making apit stop in costco on my way homw to get the case of gatorade. I was joking with him telling him that atleast he will lose the weight that he wants. i'll post a pic of him in a little while...

Hi everyone! Last night we began to smell the smoke from the fires in Northern California. It really stinks.

NC - Sorry to hear about your kitchen appliance troubles. Glad you got something new quickly.

Mari - I hope you SS feels better soon. That is so rotten what happen to him.

Jo - Praying for your upcoming move that you will have peace.

RF - I hope find that perfect home!

Huggie - Hello! Hope you are having a great summer!

Shelly - Where are you?

Katie & JC - Our song for the day is "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes"

Seacrest

We made a trip down to DLR to pick up a few things at the merchandise event celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Enchanted Tiki Room. Got to the park before 8 a.m. and the line to the entrance was so long. Got in at 8:07 and the line for the event was all the way down MS upto the photo store! I think there was about 1500 people in front of us already. Behind us, the line went all the way back to the entrance of Tomorrowland! We stood in line for over an hour and did not move an inch. We stayed in line for another hour, and we only moved up a few feet. We decided to give up and go and get the special Tiki Room pins over at the pin store. My son was waiting in line over there and it was much better organized with wristbands. People were standing in line up to 2:30 in the afternoon. Disney did not do a good job organizing the event. People were cutting into the line. It was a big mess.

The only good thing was that we got some neat pins and we saw Bob Gurr at the Tiki Room. Gurr is one of the Disney legends, he designed the ride vehicles at DL such as the Monorail, Haunted Mansion, Subs, etc. very nice guy.

Here is a video of "The Line" and some Tiki Room video!

RF- The home you like is lovely. It looks like it has had a young family living there. It looks like it would be a great place. The deck is so nice. It also looks like it has been well kept.

J0 - Keep us posted about the move. Was the garage sale last weekend or is it this coming weekend? How is that going? My brother has twin boys who are 4 years old. :scared1: They are not in school yet. They have been going to Springdale FBC pre-school and my sister-in-law loves it. One of the twins has had speech and I think he takes it thru the public schools. I think he goes like twice a week and it is sort of like preschool, they work on his speech thru play and other activities and then I think he receives one on one instruction. I think they will go to public school. They haven't really mentioned it as the boys have not been old enough to go. I think they have one more year at home before Kindergarten. They may keep them home another year. A lot of people around here do that, especially with boys.

Mari - Can your DSS drink a shake? Bless his heart. My kids really liked soup and shakes when they go their braces.

Sea - We love the Tiki Room. My dd danced to that song one year for recital so it has a special place in our heart.

Well, we looked at new construction houses last night. It seems no one is putting in white cabinets currently. The cabinets are a medium to light stained wood or an antiqued creamy color. All the houses have granite counter tops. All the appiances are stainless.

We have Corian and white painted cabinets. My cabinets could easily be antiqued. But the granite would cost a pretty penny. So I am not sure that this is the best for us right now. Of course the Corian is in perfect condition. I don't think I can destroy it.

Oh well, plus I have enough saved for dining room furniture. I am afraid if I revamp my kitchen I may lose my dining room.

Hey Huggie!

I completely missed your post!

Enjoy the Freezer! You will love having the extra room for frozen food! Will you have room for it in the house or will it go in the garage?

I have gone insane! I am putting aluminumn foil over all of my appliances to see what they would like as stainless. If you walked in you would think I am one of those people who foil their whole house so the alien's can't read their minds. Oh wait! Maybe I am one of those people! If I get locked away tonight, it is because my DH will think I have lost my mind! :lmao:

I would post a photo, but I can't remember my login for photobucket! :lmao:

Hi Everyone!

25 years ago today, June 25th, 1983, I married my best friend, my soul mate, my lover, and the mother of my beautiful children.

I am blessed man in so many ways. Today I honor my wife for putting up with me, my moods, my mistakes, and my failures. She could have had so much more, but she choose to walk by my side these years faithfully and without any reservation.

I am so grateful to God for my wife and how much she still loves me.

We don't know what the future holds for us. With God's grace, I hope we will have another 25 years together.

I know one thing for sure, my love for my wife will never cease. Our love is forever.

Thanks for letting me share a few words today. - Seacrest :cool1:

Sea - That was beautiful. I can only hope that Bob and I are as lucky as you and your wife are, to be married for that long and to love each other as deeply as you do. It is truly inspirational. CONGRATULATIONS! Here's to at least 25 more! pixiedust:

good morning to everyone!!!

it's going to be another boring day in pgh. work - home - eat -clean -sleep

yesterday - we went to my friend sarah's house and she made us taco salads and pound cake with strawberries and we watched "The Office" woo-hoo!! we really know how to live it up, huh? :rotfl2: (although that show is HILARIOUS)

UUUUMMMM...... what else ???

Bob and I have been trying to go on more dates now that we have been back from our honeymoon - to try and keep things fun here - so I am not constantly wanting to be in WDW :lmao:

last week on friday the 13th - we went to PF Chang's (MMMM...MMM MY FAV!!! ) and we sent to see the scary movie "The Strangers" with Liv Tyler - scared the crap out of me - I loooove scary movies and this one isn't scary like "Oh a ghost is coming to get me..." It's scary like, "Wow, people are psychos and this might (and did... apparantly) actually happen"

then for this saturday Bob surprised me with tickets for us to go see Peter Pan at the Benedum center

http://www.pittsburghclo.org/shows/PeterPan/peter_pan.cfm

He was so cute and said "Honey, I know that it's not FANTASMIC, but I thought it would be nice to get a taste of Disney"

:lovestruc awwww......he's nice :lovestruc

WHAT'S NEW WITH EVERYONE ELSE???

where has shelly been??? :confused3

i guess it is just a lot slower in here with not many upcoming trips and summer vacation keeping all the mom's busy...

I'll be hopefully checkin' in all day! I hope some of the MAYers have time to stop in and keep me company :snooty:
