Don't give up on your ressies. There is still time!!!!

Evening Mayers! Poppin' in to say hi :) As always, late in the evening. We ended up not going to MNSSHP on Monday, none of could justify the cost :(, but did go to the parks to play both Saturday and Tuesday.

Saturday was insanely busy, I haven't seen it that crazy since Spring Break, so we just hit up Future World at Epcot, where we have the connections, and Philharmagic and TTA at MK before leaving....Most of us had worked EMH the night before and then got up early, so we didn't stay for Wishes.

Tuesday we started at MK, rode PotC and then walked around the park the long way to Cosmic Ray's for lunch. We then rode TTA around and did Buzz. We then rode the TTA some more and caught the end of the 3:00 parade. Went to Epcot, checked out the F&W welcome pavillion in the old Wonders of Life building, hung out with a friend in the TT tower and rode through TT, then went to DHS to ride TSM before the park closed. Went back to MK for more fun on the TTA and Wishes!

If you want to see pics from Tuesday, you can check out

Good morning MAYers! :goodvibes

Happy Friday! :cool1: This week went by so fast with the kids having Monday off.

I can't believe the boys only have 2 more soccer games left. I knew time would fly by once soccer started back at the beginning of September. Soccer, then Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then JANUARY!!! I can honestly say that I have never looked forward to January before!! :rotfl:

Great pictures Sulley and Sea! :goodvibes Thanks for sharing!

MORNING MAYERS!

I have a question.... I am contemplating not getting the DxDP plan this year because we want to save some money...

Can you guys recommend some good CS places that we can visit?

We are thinking that we will do the regular DP and just pay OOP for the extra meals that we are interested in

How does this sound:

Cali Grill (2)
Le Cellier (1)
Tokyo Dining (1)
O'hana (1)
Jiko (2)
Yachtsman (2)
Chef Mickey's (this one is hard to give up for us - we really love it there) or Crystal Palace (Breakfast) - OOP about $50
Tusker House (Breakfast)- OOP about $50
HDDR - OOP $120 for Tier 1 (I think...)

$750 for the regular DDP for both of us + 220 for OOP meals = 970.00
DxDP = 1260.00

Difference of $290.00 that we could use for tips or extra snacks if we need them.

My big problem with this plan is that we may end up spending the exact same amount of money and getting 1 less meal a day....

The other thing is that if we do get the Deluxe again - that was sooo much food that I felt obligated to eat because we paid for it, on top of the fact that it takes a lot of time out of your day being in and traveling to restaurants....

My brain hurts :guilty: Help me please.....

JO!!!! Congrats! You are 1 week away :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Shelly - You're just weeks away!!!!

Hey Mari, NC, Sulley, Sea, KB! Everyone else!!!!

My countdown is at 203 days :rotfl:

RF - I would totally ditch the DxDDP if I were you. That just seems like SO MUCH money for food. Especially when it's so hot at WDW and it takes up so much of your time getting to and from and being at all those ADR's. That's just my opinion! We feel like the regular DDP is usually too much. We always feel rushed to get to the ADR's and who needs to eat like that in all the heat. We were going to ditch it all together, but then decided to get it one more time only because this is the last time DS9 will be charged as a child and for the fact that we are going in January and it won't be so hot. I don't think JO gets the DDP at all.

You would be saving the nearly $300 to begin with. Plus maybe you could cut out 1 or 2 of the 2TS meals and save even more. Remember you will be going back to WDW (probably several times :goodvibes ) so you don't have to do everything on this trip.

We usually have 1 or 2 breakfast ADR's and then all the other days we just eat a light breakfast in the room to save money - granola and cereal bars, things like that. Then we can grab an early CS lunch - 11:30ish, since we didn't have a big breakfast and it is not crowded and then when everyone else is getting lunch at 12:30 - 1:00 we are free to ride ride ride!! Then we still have our dinner ADR and a snack credit left. We rarely use the snack credits because every meal comes with dessert. So by the end of the week we have like 20+ snack credits to get bagged snacks to bring home.

Those are just my thoughts. . . Do with them what you will! :rotfl:

Well, I think I decided to get the regular DDP mainly because I had an ingenious idea!

With the money that I would save from not eating at as many places - we could afford to stay 1 more day! :rotfl:

I love Disney Math!!!

I probably won't do it because we are already going for 8 days - so then this way we will be able to afford to go more in the future!!!

Thanks for looking it over Shelly - I think I am going to call and switch my reservation through Disney. You still can change things up to 45 days before without penalty right?

hay all-

OMG- I totally spelled "hey" --"Hay". I'm losing it out here in Arkyland!;)

:lmao:

So now I have 6 !!!!! days and I am going crazy.

I went shopping for Belle- and do you know that all the shops are out of shorts??? You'd think winter was coming or something, gosh! Don't they know Jo's going to Florida? Shouldn't they have stocked shorts for me????:rotfl: I ended up at Justice For Girls, and totally rocked a sale- so I did finally get a few things for the little red head.

Thank goodness.
Because for the past few days, she has totally been lookin like the Hootchie Mama of the First grade with her short shorts and belly hanging out of her too short shirts.:lmao:

soooooooooooo.....what else?

Thanks for the PM Sulley- you've got mail yourself.
I am really getting worried about crowds. When we went in '06 at the end of October- it was DEAD. Walk on to every ride. I'm hearing some not so glorious things about the crowd situation, and I am hoping it dies down soon.

RF- Shelly is right- we don't get the DDP. But that's due to personal preference and nothing else. Mark eats- a ton- and hardly ever eats dessert- so that is a waste of $- he'd rather get the appetizer. We actually ended up paying a lot out of pocket the one time we went and used DDP. Then when we have the kids- MC is considered an adult- and she can still eat off of the kids menu when we pay OOP.;)
As far as CS- we like:
MK- Cosmic Rays, CHH
DHS- Pizza Planet, ABC commissary gets good reviews, but i like the place called Studio Catering Co.-AKA Flatbread Grill- it's next to the HISTK playground near the backlot tour
AK- YaknYeti I hear is a good CS,and there's that other one near the water, oh gosh- what is it called? Flame Tree BBQ?
EPCOT- I'm anxious to try Sunshine Seasons, I've heard that the one in Japan is good, and the Mexico one is okay too. Shelly likes Electric Umbrella for burgers- they also sell American fare in , well, America.
DTD- Wolfgang Puck is good-

I can't think of any more. Oh yeah- the mexican place in MK that's only open now and then is good- and Pecos Bills has BBQ sandwiches that are good. The McD's fry stand in frontierland absolutely has the best fries I've ever eaten.

I guess that' about it. I will say, though that when we go, I usually get salads everywhere, b/c I can't eat and then be in the heat. I'd turn green. CHH is my absolute fave anywhere.

Okay MAYers have a spectacular weeekend! It's gonna go by fast for us- we're getting stuff ready to go!

See ya!
Jo

Hey Mari, NC, Sulley, Sea, KB! Everyone else!!!!

My countdown is at 203 days :rotfl:

We do not get the Dining Plan. I think both my kids are now considered adults. At some places DS still eats a kids meal. DD always does.

We eat breakfast in the room. I pack cereal bars and pop tarts. We try to do one character breakfast. We usually eat breakfast at Pop! after we check our luggage on check-out day. They have the Mickey waffles as well as the cute waffles that say Pop!

We rarely eat dessert. I think we order a dessert when we eat at Le Cellier.

So we normally eat cereal bars in the room which gets us to the parks early!!! Lunch CS and dinner TS. We usually eat a snack in the afternoon. We just couldn't justify the cost of the DDP even for us.

Here is a money saving option for you as well. We have been to HDDR every year of our trip. We prefer Cat 3 seating. We are usually seated in the balcony and have a better view than being seated Cat 1. I would not book Cat 2 as it is on the floor at the back of the room. (That is unless they have changed things since the last time I looked at the seating chart.

TS takes so much of your park time. My family just cannot stand to "wait to be seated" more than once a day when we are at WDW. My kids are panicked about getting to the rides and shows.

Well, I better go for now. My cat needs my attention. He is practically sitting on my keyboard!

Have a great weekend!

Hey all....

RF - I totally agree with everyone that the DxDP was wayyy tooo much. I would also rather do the regular dining plan and just pay OOP for app or dessert (if i really wanted it) I felt i ate way too much while there. I mean it's great if you don't mind the money but me i would rather have the money to to buy more stuff.... But YAY on an extra day if you end up doing that....

Jo - YAY almost there.... I'm so excited for you....

hi guys...just a short break at work...

Jo, you are almost there!:banana: :snooty: :snooty:

Shelly, you and anyone else who could manage to would be more than welcome to meet us at DL -- at the "O" in California just for Jo

RF...I agree that the DDxP is just too much -- too much money and too much food. The lady at the table next to us at LC ordered the soup for her appetizer, and could only eat a few bites. The waiter asker her if anything was wrong with it, and she said, oh no, I'm just still full from breakfast! And she leaned over to tell me, the deluxe plan is just TOO MUCH food, full appetizer and dessert for 2-3 TS meals a day. The only way I'd consider it would be at a serious discount (like paying for an upgrade during free dining) and then I'd have to plan a character breakfast every single morning and a 2 TS meal every night...and I just don't know if we could do that.

Brrt and I did the DDP both trips -- paid for it in May 2007 (when tips and appetizers were still included, and yeah, it was too much food, but very nice that the tips were covered) and free this September (although we gave up any possible room discounts and paid full rack rate for POFQ, and had to pay OOP for the few appetizers we ordered and tips, and a couple of extra TS meals). Brrt and I aren't light eaters, and we had more than enough to eat. If it hadn't been for the F&W Festival our last day, we would have had 11 SC left! Well, I was kind of banking them for that last day, and paid OOP a few times for bottled water, etc. rather than using up SC's.

Here's something to consider: if you are doing any 2 TS restaurants really look at the menu and do the math. Depending what you order, you may save more money by paying OOP for one or two 2TS meals than for the 1 TS meals. I'm going to do a mini dining only report just to talk about the restaurants we went to, how much each meal would have been OOP, and what we saved on the DDP -- we saved a lot! But I did take the time before our trip to figure out the two least expensive meals to pay OOP for -- we didn't go to any 2 TS places, so it ended up being two breakfast buffets, I believe. But go over the menu at a 2 TS restaurant because in order to get your money's worth for a single TS credit, your entree, dessert, and beverage need to average at least $25 (not counting tip). But when you are using 2 TS credits, your meal needs to average $50 for it to be worth it to use your credits. :teacher:

Ok...back to work!

Oh, almost forgot...favorite CS places:

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons, Boulangerie (France), Kringla (Norway), Tangierine (Morocco)
DHS: Starring Rolls Bakery
MK: Main Street Bakery, Cosmic Rays
AK: used to be Tusker House, but that's TS now...have heard Flame Tree BBQ is good
DTD: WPE, for sure mmmmmmm

Mornin MAYers!  :snooty::snooty:

One week from right at this moment, I will be in Gainesville, standing, waiting for Gator Walk- where the Football players walk the sidewalk thru the crowd of fans, cheerleaders and Band on their way to the stadium! Woo the freak Hoo!!!:woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:

thanks for all of the input guys. i think that we will be going with the regular DDP this time - and we shouldn't have to pay too much OOP. I think that we may skip the HDDR this time around, because we want to try and go to the P&PP if they have it this year. I hear that it is really fun and the lines are super short for all of the rides - and ya'll know how me and bob are about our rides! :woohoo:

oh - and we have a flea epidemic in our house....... :guilty: :scared: so it's pretty much been the weekend from hell

i am trying to get into my vets office today.

Howdy to all MAYers near and far...
I've got three days and I am about to explode.

On the way to school, I was playing my CD of Spectro for the kids and telling them who you see, when, according to the music (I've seen it one too many times, lOL) and Belle said "Mom, I think I'm gonna cry." Well, that made ME cry and so I cried all the way home.

:rotfl:

I am soooo weird.

Okay- got a hundred and one ninety eight billion things to do today-
I'll check in on y'all later.

Have a good day!:snooty:

Hi Everyone! Busy, fun and tiring weekend. Hopefully, I will have a great week and not lose any more clients. I had 3 clients go out of business the last 30 days. Been trying to set up meeting with new potentials, hopefully, something will click. Rather be doing something else right now...Sea
