may 12, 2012 7 Night Western on the Fantasy

I'm pretty excited to hear about everyone's excursions once were back. It seems like everyone is doing a lot of different things!

I had such a hard time narrowing it down, but I think we'll be really happy with the one we chose!

I am still up in the air about booking another excursion on Grand Cayman, but I will probably wait until closer and see what's available then :goodvibes

Hi everyone!

This is our first cruise, and we are really excited! We would be celebrating my daughter (5/16) and my birthday (5/18) during the cruise :goodvibes

What a lovely way to celebrate a birthday in the family
Are you planning any excursions?

I just booked this cruise yesterday and am SO excited!! It's a 10th Anniversary trip for me and DH, so we are leaving the teenagers at home. We are both in our mid-40s and live just outside Atlanta. (Pam and Seth)

We have a GTY so I'm not sure where we will be located yet. I have a Disney credit from a previous cruise so I have to get that sent in before I can make final payment and I'm hoping that we'll still be able to book Palo and/or Remy by then.

This is only the 2nd Disney cruise we've been on and are new to the FE concept but we do want to participate, unless we shouldn't since we don't have kids with us. Y'all can let me know.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

:welcome:

Of course you can participate in the FE! We don't have kids either and still love the giving and getting of FE gifts.

I'm traveling this week, but I'll try and update the main list on page 8 sometime later.

For people who are GTY, or have been GTY in the past, when do you usually know your cabin number?

:welcome: icemoca glad to have you on our cruise!!!! There will be a lot of celebrating on your cruise, sounds like a lot of fun.

:welcome: ilovetexas glad you're joining us too!!! Its fun to travel with no kids (we did before we had our son) so now were converting the other way... with him. You'll enjoy relaxing and just having all kinds of fun. The FE is a blast with no kids, its fun to come back to the room and find little presents. :)

sasmmb, GTY can come in when the rooms are assigned, we paid off the cruise in Jan, and got our room # right away, and on previous cruises it took a while longer for it to come in. I think it depends on how filled they are for that category. Theres always hopes of being bumped up too... so maybe we should set up a place where people can write their room # if it changes on the 1st day of the cruise, and we can all check it before giving out the goodies.

I've got to call DCL either tonight or in the morning anyway, so I'll ask them. Now I get to pick out and order a FE and presents. So fun, we've never done that before! :)

Thank you! I've been waiting patiently to be able to register the excursions. Hope they are still some left on Feb 27. :surfweb:

Well, now that my excursion is booked... I am back to not having anything to do for the next 2 months. :surfweb:

What is everyone else working on?

I am going to pull out my packing list and start picking up small things here and there, but I have a lot of stuff stashed away already from previos trips. :cool1:

Is anyone converting money? Or will you just stick with USD?

I am going to take USD. When we were in Cozumel and the Grand Caymans everyone took USD and major credit cards.

If you don't already have one, get a Capital One credit card. It is $0 in annual fees, and one of the few credit cards that don't charge a Foreign transaction fee.

Hi All,
So many great occasions to celebrate on our upcoming cruise! Congratulations to all!

I am back home from the hospital after some minor surgery. I'm feeling well and looking forward to making our FE gifts while I'm recuperating. I also signed in to the magnet boards this morning and saw MilliePie had created some really cool ones for us. Have you guys checked out the magnet pages? These designers are awesome and so generous with their time in volunteering to create them for all askers.

Counting down the days till we are all aboard The Fantasy!

I've started a packing list as well; DH thinks I am crazy
Each time I think ooh I must remember ?? I just add it to the list
I hadn't even thought about exchanging money apart from British Pounds into $s before I leave the UK
Are $s OK in all the ports we visit? can you change money on the ship if not?

Just dropping in to share my excitement :yay: Paid our balance last night and have excursions reserved.

We've decided on Chacchoben Mayan Ruins in Costa Maya. Originally we had thought we'd not do a big excursion in Costa Maya, but this looks like the best ruin tour that isn't 2 hours away with a potentially rough boat ride.... Has anyone done this one?

In Cozumel we were torn between the glass bottom kayak and Fury Catarmaran. Went with Fury Catarmaran for the kids. Figure that would make up for the ruin tour which they may or may not think is boring. :rolleyes1

And in Grand Cayman we've booked the Island Tour. I may switch to the Island Tour & Snorkling with Stingrays, however, we are not sure whether the kids will even like to get up close and personal with stingrays. Coming from Southwestern Ontario they have not had alot of experience in the ocean and were a bit timid in the ocean on our Dream cruise last year. Has anyone done a stingray excursion? What's it like? If we don't add on the stingrays, I'd like to get to a beach after the island tour. I'll have to do a bit of research, but has anyone gone to a beach on their own in Grand Cayman? How far would it be from the pier?
