Padalyn, I'm so sorry about your cat! But good news about your tests!

NHDisneylover...I didn't realize there were fire dangers in New Hampshire!

Stepahnie, I think you probably did join on after the bracelet order went in, but i am not totally sure. I think Elizabeth held off as long as she could and still be sure to get them in on time. Maybe there will be extras.

It is ok. I am just so impressed on how nice everyone is and how much you do for each other!

I have 2 bags at 44 pounds each  a roller bag carry on and a laptop backpack. Some of the stuff in the 2 bags is not coming home with us, so the return will be ok :)

But, I did send stuff ahead of time to the ship :thumbsup2 We won't talk about how much those weighed :lmao:

Debbie

That is not fair! I wish I could mail stuff! :rotfl:

Whole freaking state is on fire. I am currently surrounded by 3 brush fires. Sounds worse than it is, however, everything is smokey and ashy. Although I have to admit looking at the flames while we were driving home from In & Out for burgers was kind of neat. Of course my teen looked at me and said, "you know what this makes me think of?" I said "BBQ?" She rolled her eyes and went back her iPod. :lmao: :rotfl2:

I know I was just outside with the kids and there is smoke everywhere and the sky is red.

I got a call from Jason at DCL a couple of days ago - he said the provider backed out of the contract.

Erik - it is pretty heavy -cost DVC over 8 dollars to ship it - I would say you don't need it at this point. This way you have a suprise when you get home (the nice type!!!)

Do you know if the chocolate factory was canceled for both days? It is still showing on our reservation.

Can someone PM me and tell me what the gift was. We are not DVC members but I am very curious (a probably a bit jealous too :) )

my husband's passport just got here!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

the bracelets got here yesterday! :cheer2:

My kids can't wait for the bracelets! Congrates on the passport. I know what it's like!

:) if anyone has a security system don't forget to call the company to let then know you will be out of town...and so on..
Call Insurance co. and find out what they require if you should need medical assistance out of country.
zip ties, tape, luggage tags, passports, all dcl paperwork, copies of passports
call the post office and stop your mail.
singles for tipping
call cc co. to let them know your using their card out of country.
that's my list.. did I forget anything.????:confused3 :confused3
oh i forgot KPROS... YOU ROCK...

Stop the paper.

Please let Abby know Marika is not ignoring her. We have been running so much I haven't even let Marika online when we have a few minutes (because I want that time!). I will try to have her return email tonight after karate. We are really looking forward to meeting you also.

David and John and Jessica for that matter would have liked to have participated in the kids stuff/emailing more, but just too busy.

Also, I am bringing one lightweight jacket and one sweater, is that enough or should I bring more? I'm not sure how cold it will be in the middle of the Atlantic.:confused3

I'm bringing a pair of sweats.

I keep having problems getting on to the boards! So furstrating not to be able to keep up properly.

99% packed, just the last minute stuff tomorrow morning. Sent DD to walmart (it's so cool to have a driver in the family) because ds8 brought home the rest of the school years work to take on the trip. :confused3 and we needed a writing box thingy.

I'd better go, much still to do. 14 and 1/2 hours! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Yuck. i have had very little experience with ticks in spite of being quite "outdoorsy" and living in woods most of my life. I found one on Marika tow mornings ago and got it off and into a jar (just in case). TOnight, she ran over to the neighbor's to deliver soemthing and when she came in she said "yuck" a bug and brushed off her arm. Then she found another and I got over there before she brushed that off too and it was a tick. Got that off OUTSIDE and saw one on her pants (stripped her down on the deck and left all the clothes out there. I of course checked over both kids and spent forver going through their hair. We looked all over and cannot find the one she brushed off. So, I am hoping the one on her pants was the one form her arm? It is totally freaking me out that it could still be wandering around the house waiting to attach to one of us. I do not care how good the weather is, no one is going outside the rest of the week. Friday can't ge there soon enough.

I so feel for you.

When we lived in Connecticut a few years back, I was always overly careful about the ticks. I check the kids everytime they can in from the back yard. I would have the whole yard sprayed for ticks...all 2 acres. I would drive Mike crazy!! The thought of the kids getting 'lime disease', :scared1: was very scarey to me. I grew up in Oregon, we never worried about ticks.

Eller - I am glad, in a way, that David hasn't posted much. Abby thought when she invited him for a movie and pizza he got scared because it was like a "date." I just laughed, but I will let he know that he was busy. She will be relieved and is still looking forward to the pizza and movie.:)

Hi...not on your cruise...just butting in to let you know I'm on board right now and the crew is really excited about going to the Med so you should have a great trip! Wishing you fun and excitement!

Debbie

I am so excited for you - on the ship now! Any surprises or things that have changed that you can fill us in on? We are excited about the cruise - as you can tell from the Boards. Why arn't you sleeping?:)

Okay, I will not be having as much fun as Kelly and family or Erik and family tomorrow, but I have to admit I get to have a pretty good day seeing as it is not yet vacation. The Girl Scouts are spending the morning at my house making tie dye T shirts and learning to do some knot tying. Then after lunch we are going to a weaving studio where they get to spend about an hour or so each on looms making sashes. Of course, doing all this (plus the usual afternoon classes) will make getting any prep work done nearly impossible. But it should keep my mind off of counting the hours (well, not really:rotfl2: )

Kelly, I cna't believe you had never seen Beauty or Ariel. Thanks for posting what you did so we can live vicariously through you.

Oh have them make Mickey Head Tye Dyes, here is how.....

Take the shirt and draw a mickey head in pencil, on the shirt. You can make a pattern on papper first and then traced along the edge. You will then "sew" the pattern. Use a needle and thread. I got a waxed thread at Michaels to make sure it didn't take up the dye. Sew a 1/4" - 1/2" basting stitch along the pencil line. A basting stitch is a very simple stitch that goes up & down through the fabric. Only go through the front of the shirt if that is where you want the mickey to be. If you want it on front and back. Do each side separtely. After stitching along the complete line, knot it, and pull it tight, so the fabric gathers in a bunch. Make sure the inside of the Mickey is poking outward. Pleat the rest of the fabric, so that you have a long snake like tube. The more careful you are with pleating the fabric along the length of the shirt, the better the final result. Go easy, and take your time. Wrap a rubber band around the threaded bunch. The tighter the tie, the more defined the outline of the mickey will be. Place remaining rubber bands in 1"-2" intervals along the rest of the shirt. It is a little hard to explain, but when you are done you will have a long snake. One end is the mickey on front of shirt and the other end it the back mickey. Through the middle is the rest of shirt (arms, neck etc.).

KEWL .... and who said the 60's were a waste of time:hippie: :hippie:

Ok, all packed, all bags loaded in the car. Kids sleeping on the couches, Dh sleeping upstairs and me? Too excited. We leave in 1 hr for our 6:00am flight to Fl. Maybe we will run into some of you at DW, especially Debbie since Epcot is our favorite park. Looking forward to meeting everyone and putting faces to names!! Till then...

Marguerite

You know, I think they make collars and dips for that now...

Laura--When social services rings my bell I'll be sure to let them know YOU told me to put flea collars on the kids

And I was going to post a link to Frontline…. That will teach me to be nice.

I had to rush my favorite kitty to the Animal ED last evening - he is in renal failure - we were not sure he would survive the night. Well, the vet called this am -he is doing better but not out of the woods yet. I may have news just as we sail...I am worried, but not obsessed - my GF is not going on the 14 day - she is meeting us in Barcelona - so she will be here for Merlyn. He has lost so much weight - he was 18 pounds 2 yrs ago - now he is 6.4. His brother died suddenly and he just hasn't been the same.

Sorry to hear this, our thoughts are with ya.

Safe travels to all…. One more day of work, then to Denver.

Lynn did a great job of getting us together.

I am already too excited to sleep…..

I saw the list of number of cabins and people - how many are kids?

To all the photo gurus out there - do you know if we can get our photos put on a disc by the photo people on the ship? I was not going to take a computer but DW will be clicking away madly and I will need to be able to cleaer space on the camaras regularly.:)

I would have to answer that we are all kids :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Do you have an iPod? If so you can get a small adapter to fit onto it that will allow you to transfer the pictures form the camera to the iPod. When you get home, connect it to your PC as normal and copy the pictures from it back to your PC. Works like a charm!! Now I just have to make room on my iPod for the pictures. Do you think 34G is enough room :rotfl:

:rotfl: sounds like something my son would do

So how are we doing on running up the post number for Pat anyway?

I knew I could count on you guys!!! Woot, 6 pages since last night hehe.

Scott, do you ever sleep!! And I thought I was an night owl, you give the word new meaning......

Time for work.

Cheers!!

Pat

I am waiting for the window to open up for Southwest so I can print my boarding card!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

People at work better be prepared for me to finish every conversation and answer to a question with "I have a boarding pass" :dance3:

Last day of work!

Then
ONE MORE SLEEP!!!!

Debbie

OK in my many attempts to repack I accidentally took out my phone charger. Anyone have a Nokia phone charger they can bring with them? Not that we need our phones onboard, but for later or emergency. BUMMER.

Have a great crossing guys - and be good to the crew we get them next.

Greetings and good morning from the World once again.

Of course I can't really keep up with all the excitement here at WDW AND these boards....but I can tell that energy is still building! Jason and I are super excited for the cruise to start, too.....and the DCL staff here at AKL see us every day in the lobby and remark about our trip.

I will have to post fuller trip reports about what we do each day later tonight...or maybe even later in the week...or maybe onboard! :lmao: ....we're on our way out the door to Magic Kingdom for a couple hours this morning and then to MGM for the rest of the day!:woohoo:

:tigger:
Erik

Scott,

How've you been? It's been a while since the PC crossing!!! Are you planning on doing it all over again next year? We are booked and ready to go!

To all of the crossing folks: I want to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable crossing.

During your sailing, if you visit Palo, please tell Annie "Steve, Andrea, and Stevie say Hi and send our best".

Have fun!!!
Steve

Scott-Thanks for the Mickey Tie Dye directions. We made them for the entire family a couple of trips back (felt it was appropriate for staying at POP). It is FUN. I do not think it will work so well for the girls today. We do real tie die with soda ash and Ritt dye on all our camping trips. So, just to do something different for this badge the girls asked to do use the died strings today (you actually tie strings around wherever you want die to be and then soak it in water). It makes for a different (whiter) look and should be so non messy. I really think they will wish they had gone for the real thing, but it is always good to try something new.

Seems like more and more people are at the world now. It is all getting so exciting. And I love that pppiglet posted from the ship to tell us the crew is getting antsy too.

Kelly--we haven't had a nokia in years, but sometimes Dave hangs onto chargers forever--just for guests who forget (we can't offer you a hair dryer, but we do have a charger for you!). I'll ask him to check tonight.

Does everyone know you can go online to have the mail held? We always do it that way. Our post office said it is actaully better to take that route as then the notice goes multiple places and nothing slips through the cracks. True we never have had a problem with the online hold and we did have a couple of times back in the yellow hold card days when we would get weekend mail (from the part time deliverer) having sat it the box for a couple of weeks becuase that person missed the hold.
