Hi All,

I have been reading the DIS for years but never posted before. This will be our 5th Disney Cruise--we are really looking forward to such a nice long trip and great ports.

I'm starting to sift through this thread (just found it). It's so long! Who else has kids about the ages of mine (I am thinking there will not be a huge number of school aged kids on this trip?)

I was also wondering when we will hear about our flight info.

This is the first time we have ever book our flights and our transfers with DCL. Does anyone know how this is handled? Will someone be contacting us? How far in advance will this be done?

This is also our first time using DCL for airfare and transfers. Our TA said DCL would notify her of flight arrangements 45 days out. The DCL planning calender that came for the transatlantic said we'd be able to view our air itinerary online on March 27th. Those two dates are close so maybe its true.

I'm still catching up on many old posts. I got to page 30 before "gviing up" and decided to start at 140 (just before the wonderful 143 list). This seems like such a wonderful group of people. Here is a bit of cathching up, I hope I present things correctly:

Hi Kelly, here are our favourite Disney characters:
David: Milo Thatch (Atlantis)
Hadley: Mary Poppins
Rio: Pluto
Marika: Belle

my son is also 8. Maybe they will get along? I haven't noticed any other 8 year old boys on the posts yet! We would love to be included in the tea on the repo if possible.

We will be arriving on Orlando at noon on the 11th. We would LOVE to be a part of the wine and cheese party that evening and meet some of the people I am already to feel like I know from the boards in person. I can't figure out how to PM you--how should we RSVP?

Hello! I just found this website a week ago after reading a reference to it on the "passPorter's" website. I booked our cruise in may 06. I thought I was the only one crazy about planning!!:rotfl: We are Cynthia and Jeff living in northern virginia. This will be our second cruise. We are DVC members with points at Boardwalk, Beach Club and as of this week Animal Kingdom Villas!! We have two grown daughters 21 & 24. My husband is in the Navy and I have a background in Retail Management.
I just spent a week reading this entire thread...PHEW!popcorn::
I will be posting lots of questions as you guys are hands down the best information source EVER! I was blown away by the link to the ship builders site. :worship: :worship: :worship:
Question 1; how early is to early to show up at the ship terminal? Last time we got in later in the day and feel like we missed out on a lot.

Welcome elderfam and NHdisneylover!

I've got you all down for name badges and lanyards.

elderfam - is it just the two of you or are your daughters going as well?

Ken

It's just my husband and I. The girls both have real jobs :cool1: We havent been able to talk them into a cruise yet. One of them just relocated to Orlando which is great since we spend so much time there.

:welcome: Elderfam!

Boy the list is growing! We have had a few folks drop off, and as soon as that happens a new family shows up!

One day closer!

Debbie

We are also GTY 12 late seating and also booked on the later side after thinking "wow, this sounds great!" when we saw the Magical Rate. Can't help you with kids, as it's just the two of us, but welcome aboard!!!

Sounds pretty similar to Cynthia and Jim (us)! :) That's what I thought when I saw your post, then realized we were not twins after all! How exciting, welcome!!

The family is fretting over the choice of staying on our June 6th 10 day Cruise vs. booking the first 11 day back to back with the crossing cruise?

The big issue was the pets three dogs, the cat, 5 goats a chicken and 4 bunnies.

Resolving that I'm leaning toward the 25 lbs .... I mean 25 days back to back cruises.

I wonder how many others are taking this route. Will we get (cat 12) cabin fever?

What should we anticipate for weather and seas on the Atlantic crossing?

kpros Thanks for getting us on the lanyard/ nametag list!!!

Hi Cupcake. We'll look for you on the cruise. I'm glad we are not the only ones adding on rather late. We only booked about 3-4 weeks ago (and have been going crazy counting days ever since). I wanted to do a Transatlantic SO BADLY. But, we did a week at WDW and a week on the cruise with newbie friends last September and really (for financial considerations) should wait at least a year between major trips (trips to Colorado and Puerto Vallarta to visit grandparents don't count!). This was especailly true as we already cut it too close with only 10 months between the last two trips we took on the magic. But, this deal is just too good to pass up (especaily since we could get air back to Boston for $380pp!). So here we are. All of us so excited to cross the Atlantic, go to awesome ports and get 14DAYS. The kids are also looking forard to what we hope will be much less crowded clubs. My 10 year old is very easily overwhelmed by big, loud groups. And my little guy (8) just LOVES to monopolize all the adults attention! I'm really jealous of those of you who get to stay on for the next 11 days. My husband could never get off work for that long at once!

Here's an odd ball question. Do any of you oh-so informed ones know of any way to find out if a particular cruise satff member will be on the cruise? We are keeping our fingers crossed for Keyon. He made the last two cruises TWICE as Magical.

No one in our group has ever used DCL transportation to the port from the Hyatt (after staying the night before). Does anyone here have any idea when the first bus leaves? Does it stop anywhere else, or just go straight to the port? Trying to figure out when we need to be up and out and we'd like to be one of the first onboard since we got zero Palos due to booking so late. Almost considering doing a one way car rental if the buses leave too late. Thanks!!!

By the way it is pouring rain here and we may get snow at my house tonight!!

Hey Kissimmee! Long time no see/chat!

Do you have a neighbor who can watch the pets? Especially if you promise to bring them back something;)

Remind me, how many are going? We are cat. 12's but since there is 4 of us, we will be upgraded. So hopefully we get a bigger room.

I still say come on over, the June 6th thread is WAAAY too boring...:rotfl2:
