Hello all!

It has been a few days since I have had a chance to get onto the DIS cruise board. Lots of new good stuff.

Ken, thank you SO MUCH for doing the Lanyards and name tags. How very kind! We are really excited about being a part of this cruise and this group in particular!

Erik, LOL Jason's comment about DIS! :rotfl: I started on the DIS before our first cruise last year and DH was appalled that I was talking with complete strangers! After he met the group however, he agreed everyone was really nice. Now he is accepting of my DIS obsession. My goal for this trip is to actually get HIM onto the boards. :teeth: I think he would really enjoy it too. We'll see.

Lynda, love the pic's of Cash and Luke. They look like they really get along well. Gotta Labs and water! :woohoo:

Debbie, your pic's from the fist May repo cruise are wonderful! I especially liked the moon on the water shot - gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.

Scott, have a wonderful time in Grand Cayman!

txaggie, glad to hear your positive feedback on the inside room. We are in a cat 11 for the same reasons. I did love sitting on our balcony last time, though.

milestogo, I am guessing there will be few kids onboard also. Although the 3-4 age group for yours and my DD's may be more full since "school" doesn't come into play yet. I really wish we could bring our older two DD's with us (and so do they!) but there is just no way that they can miss 2 weeks of school.

Speaking of DD2, she is systematically emptying papers off my desk right now. That is my sign to get off the computer! Have a great weekend everyone!

This reminds me of a good story from our West Coast Cruise. Before the cruise, I was talking to Curt (DH) about the DIS boards all the time. One day I posted a note from work that was apparently taken the wrong way and it generated a bit of a squabble. I was unaware of it and this was a Friday. I often don't post over the weekend. When I got home, he said to me "you better check the DISboards - you've caused quite a stir". My jaw fell to the floor because I had no idea that he had been secretly lurking on the boards.

Anyway I posted the story to the group and they got a good laugh about it. They all said hi to him. After he read their comments, he decided he should start posting also.

BTW, I asked him last week and he's following this group's posts also.

You can't imagine how relieved I am that Cash decided not to eat him alive for disrupting the "chain of command"....

As one of the PC "lanyard people" I am, once again, overwhelmed by the generosity of fellow cruisers....Yayyy, another lanyard cruise...Thank you SO much...That's far better than that tattoo on the..., if I do say so at least you can take it off and you can't imagine how tough it was to teach Cash the secred handshake!....without thumbs it was a mess! The lanyards were SO useful, too...wore mine out!

Man, even Cash knows the secret handshake... please post stick figure examples so we can start practicing.

I, too, keep a daily announcement of what's happening on the Disboards cult group to DH. He now asks "what's happening on the Disboards, what's everyone talking about?"

I had been thinking about finding something "California-ish" to bring to the ship for everyone and then the great posting about the fun gifts came on. I've been mulling it over in my mind about what I can carry with me and all the fun ideas!

When we were on the ship last year for the first Mexico cruise there were so many fun doors and messages to people, we couldn't believe how many families and friends were traveling as large groups... duh, now we get who the dis-groups were! We played a game with DD (2.5 at the time) called touch the fish. To get her away from her obsession with going up and down the stairs -- we'd touch every fish by each door til we got to our room. We thought it was so cool all fish messages. :rotfl2:

I know that lurking child at my elbow while on the computer...

LOL. DD turned 2 the day we boarded the Magic for our West Coast Cruise. I think we went up and down every single public staircase on the ship that week! :rotfl2: Why this was so entertaining I could never figure out!

:

hint, hint......I've always wanted an all-over tan.....never had the time, though...How's that for California?

I'd suggest little Sees candies but you know what chocolate does in the heat...The ship would be awash in brown chocolate goo before we got out of Castaway Cay......

Errrr... you might want to look at the second post on page 28...

Yes, stair obbsession is a very funny thing and the biggest slow down in the world to get where we are trying to go. Now I take her to the redwood creek challenge trail at CA Adventure and let her climb til her hearts content. Of course, now were into slides to go back down!

Lynda, I never remember that See's Candies are a California-ish thing. I don't know why it doesn't occur to me because my mom has to go straight there from the plane to buy pounds of it... then off to Carl's JR for a burger. Maybe some hard candies from See's...

CA tan, hmmm you'd never know it by the weather we've been having! Maybe an Atlantic ocean tan next year!!

Hey Bob, I had a Krispy Kreme this morning in Atlanta, and now a Mahi Mahi Sandwich here on Grand Cayman. The resort we are at is called Cobalt Coast, open air bar with Wireless . Life is good getting ready for an after lunch dive. Our room is great one bedroom unit with an ocean view, photos to follow.

KEWL we get to get new Tattoos for this cruise.

Ken hope the walk went or is going well.

Time for a dive.

If I see Mickey tomorrow or Monday, I'll let him know that y'all say hi! My plane leaves in 3 hours so I am at that "what did I forget to pack?" stage of the vacation.

This morning we did the Walk for Animals at the local animal shelter. Unfortunately we had to cut it short this year. Bear tore his ACL and is now scheduled for knee surgery on Thursday. He's on mild pain killers so he's not feeling it which means he wants to run, run, run. It's very hard to keep him quiet. Anyway, we're told that this knee surgery is a very common procedure and he should make an excellent recovery so I'm not too worried.... but Puppy Prayers would be welcome.

P.S. Everyone kept coming up to us at the walk and saying "He's soooooooo cute. What kind of dog is that?" Bear was getting so much attention that my DH said "I feel like I'm walking with Brad Pitt." :smooth:

Hi Scott and Lynn

Hope the dive was great! I'm still waiting in the wings for my walking time - it's 2am to 3 am Sunday morning! At least it's quite at that time in the morning. But our team raised $4600 for the American Cancer Society so it's all good.

Ken

Wow lots of walks going on today. Anyone in SoCAL the Lance Armstrong Foundation walk, run, ride is 6/25 and they are desperate to get the word out that it is coming to Orange County for the first time ever. We are going to put a group together for anyone who is interested let me know - looking for volunteers too for the weekend.

Good puppy prayers out there too! OUCH!!

All of you taking vacation right now, we wish we were there, but no vacation until 5/8/07 OKW then repo.... But we are going several times to DL in the next week to get some time in before the crowds in June. Planning to eat my first turkey leg. And all anyone is talking about in my neighborhood is the annual passport members guide came out and it is all about the new changes in the Pirates of the Carribean ride, the new pins, the new pirate stores and most importantly the new Monte Cristo sandwiches that will be available in restaurants in New Orleans square. Usually we can only get them at the Blue Bayou restaurant... so big discussions going on in our neighborhood. I'll look for good pirate night stuff at the new store. There is also a new food tasting and classes with the chefs of the resort at DCA, can't wait to check out the food. Can you tell I'm all about food?

Have a great weekend everyone. Kelly

Bummer for Bear, hope he gets better.

Ken, Way to go, good to hear of your success.

Kelly, you are lucky to be close to DL, we have a 18 hour dive to get there. LOL

Vacation is good, I actually slept 10 hours. Last week at work was nuts and out flights down were fraught with problems. The resort is very very nice, well appointed rooms, and a friendly staff. The reef off the resort is pretty good, lots of fish and very healthy sponges and coral, just have to swim a ways to get to it. Found the local mini mart, front room of a house, a Cuban family runs it, I tend to find these kinds of places, get to know the locals and support them with my business.

Nice sunrise today, will see how the dive operation is.

Welcome to the "service dog phenomenon". Cash is a star...I'm invisible...

Many prayers for your puppy!....oops, I hear something suspicious...better go check on Luke....
:wizard:

:wizard: PD and Prayers for Bear!

:cool1: Way to go Ken on your walk.

  For all of you having/about to have wonderful vacations to DL/WDW and other locales.

DH just left on another business trip. This one is at the Contemporary at WDW! The kids and I so wanted to go with him, but state testing starts Monday at school, so no can do. :sad2:

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I just snagged reservations at Yosemite for weekend after next. I really want to take the kids to see the waterfalls since they are stunning this year (big benefit from all the snow!), but I haven't been able to get hotel reservations anywhere even close to the Park entrance, much less in Yosemite Valley itself. On a whim, I tried the National Park website again tonight and got space! It is in an "unheated tent cabin" (brrr!) but we are in the Park!

And don't forget all those DIS green shirts, especially on the first day. We had CM's asking what was with all the lime green.

Those of you that were on the Repo cruise, were you awake when you arrived at San Pedro? I was one of those out there with all those lime green balloons to greet you.

Kelly - where do you get the members guide? I'm a premium annual pass holder and I haven't seen this.

Are you in here somewhere?
