We might give you a run for your money out here in central British Columbia! We are still waiting for DD pasport (6 weeks), still no documents - nothing from DCL or the TA, no magnets and no flight details. At least we have a room if we can just get there. Oh well, no problem we still have plenty of time to panic so whats the sense in worrying about it?:)

Yeah I think you might actually! It doesn't matter really about the docs anyway. When we went last May they didn't arrive before the cruise so we phoned them and they let us fill them all in at the port. The online ones are the ones that matter.

Greg thanks for the temp info good to know.

Erik, sorry for the loss of your friend..

Welcome Aboard to you new cruisers..

Erik, I'm sorry you lost your friend. I hope the work you are doing in the fight against AIDS helps redirect some of the "sadness energy" from your loss. My prayers are with you.

Deanna

welcome! be sure to check out page 143 (post # 2131) for all kinds of neat info!!

The murder mystery was a real HOOT!! The characters would appear at the oddest times and just be bizarre..we had such a blast on the WB Panama cruise with it...didn't do very well - but had fun anyway. My partner and I were acting as a team of 2 and that worked against us, since we were not in enough places to see all the characters.

What are people doing up at 4 in the morning?//:confused3

As far as docs are concerned, I am 6 hours north of Disney so I know I will be last!

Welcome newcomers!

At this point I think many of us will tie for "last" meaning never get them:sad2: I have neither documents nor magents and the post office can usually find our house. Deanna--while the post office can find us, consturction workers cannot (odd-we do have nice big numbers by the front door). When all the area homes were new about three years ago there were constant mix ups. Here was the strangest (and also the most recent being almost excatly two years ago):

We live smack in the middle of two acres of trees and there is no way to see into my bathroom window unless you are on the garage roof--so I have no curtains up there. Well, about two years ago, I got out of the shower, looked over and there were two guys on that roof:eek: Boy did a grab a towl fast:laughing: By the time I snuck around in the room getting clothes and got dressed on the hallway (boy was I wishing for curtians just this once) and got outside they were almost done installing gutters around the house. I called David and asked if he ordered gutters without telling me? No. Told the nice worker man (while trying furiously not to blush) we did not order gutters. He said our builder (and he did have the guy's name) told them to install them and had paid for them and it's too late to do anyting now as they are almost totally finished. A call and an email to the builder went unanswered (paying for gutters was not in our plans--we had a cruise to pay for:rotfl2: ) Six months later (yes, six full months) the builder tries to send us a bill for these with a note that they were accidently put on our home, but he knows we wanted them anyway. . . (oh ,and NONE of the neighbors ordered them either).

I do hope they do that murder mystery again--sound FUN.

Giggles about your gutters, Hadley! Oh, and we have no curtains on our bathroom window, either! Just trees outside, and the only thing you can vaguely see in the winter when the leaves are off, is the horse breeding farm next door. It's like showering in the forest:hippie: . I love it! Sadly, no roof to show off my wares... just kidding!:dance3:

BTW
I'll be the last to get docs and will forever be in a windowless cabin.:sad2:

:welcome: So glad you can come.......you sound like one of the "younger set:rolleyes1
My son, Mike is 28, and he is going on the cruise. He was hoping there'd be some people younger than his dad and me to hang with! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:welcome: Welcome Chris and Mike!!:welcome:

Erik - So sorry for your loss.

No docs here yet....guessing the TA will send them soon and we'll get them next week. :)

Off to Myrtle Beach today to see Lily Tomlin this weekend. It's also given the house sitter some time to get used to the dogs again since she'll be here for over 2 weeks during the cruise...they'll all be familiar again. :dog: :dog: :dog: :dog:

Murder Mystery sounds like fun...I've always wanted to host a murder mystery party, but just haven't gotten around to it. :magnify:

Mike's taking more of an interest in what's going on here on the boards...he's regularly asking me for updates - soon I may just get him on here directly ;)

Have a great weekend...I'm sure I'll be way behind again when we get back late Sunday...hope we all have *nice* weather...pixiedust:

Welcome aboard Chris and Mike! I've added you to the lanyard list.

Ken

Deanna--soudns like you have a lovely place. I so love my trees (it sounds like you have even more than two accres--lucky). I grew up in the moutnians in Colorado and alwasy had trees :hippie: I really missed them when we moved to Phoenix; then Laramie, WY; Lafayette, In; and Detroit. One of the big draws for reloacting here for me was the possiblilty of getting a little bit of land with trees. We told the realtor not to even take us to anything where the builders had clear cut and put in grass instead.

thumper's mom - are you out there. I noticed that you posted recently - are you on this cruise? If so, I need some info inorder to get you on the lanyard list. Please post again.

Ken

Oy what a couple days....very busy with a trip for work....and a close friend/colleague of mine died after a long struggle with AIDS last night...so that is very hard :guilty: .......

....this cruise is going to be a nice escape from the real world! :goodvibes

....but focusing on something positive:
1.) We watched the DCL special on TV today and it's so wonderful it made me almost cry I'm so excited for this trip!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
2.) Our Euros arrived in the mail today and our DDE card arrived yesterday....so things are definitely falling into place.

:tigger:
Erik

Erik, my thoughts are with you. :grouphug:
You know it doesn't make it any easier to accept the fact that they are no longer with you but believe that they are now in a better place, no more pain and suffering. (DH's dad passed away suddenly at christmas and my dad passed away a few weeks ago after being ill for over a year-both are hard to take).
It's been a year! We really need a vacation.

Hadley, we only have 4 acres, and it's covered in trees. We actually need to clear some of the under growth--a bit of a jungle in the summer! We bought our property and it's quirky house, because it has a really long driveway that the kids can play on. I want them outside living life as much as possible without me worrying about the neighbors, abductions and such. We have a sheep (left over from a herd in CA), too, and will be getting chickens next week. We had them in CA and I miss them. Mean, stinky little creatures, but I love the eggs and the sound they make.

Erik - I'm sorry!

Welcome Chris and Mike!

Good morning to everyone! The fabric for the vests came yesterday and I got the new zipper sewn into DS8's dress pants. Mom is here and took the kids shopping. DD16 scored with new dress, swim suit, skirt cover up, tops and skirt. DSs got shorts, shirts and watches.

Today we are off to the Super Mall. I think there is something else we still need. Mom crossed a lot off the lists.

Murder mystery sounds loads of fun!

Have a great day,

Lori
