May 11th 2008 ~ Any Double Dippers Out There?

FYI, I just cancelled our Dolphin Excursion booking (two people) last night...if anyone is trying for them, they might want to see if the slots opened up.

I got the email also about the Passporters shipping. :woohoo: Can't wait!!!

Hi everybody!!! Remember me?? Wow all these new people! How cool - see Karen - and we thought we'd be by ourselves!

My DS is 5. I signed him up for the kids club - hope he will enjoy it.

I am going to buy our Princess & Pirate tickets today - :cool1: And Brandi - guess what - I went ahead and added the dining plan to our trip. I figured since we were taking my Mom along I wanted to make it easy and hassle free for her - because I can just hear her talking about how expensive everything is. And I don't wanna hear it!! Got our ADR for the Character Breakfast at Tusker House - I think my son will enjoy that. Or maybe I am the one looking forward to it so much?? :rolleyes1

Anyway I am in super planning mode now - so I'm sure I'll be on the boards a lot more. Oh and by the way - basketball season is over - we went on to be Zone Champions! :cheer2: We went to the city playoffs but were knocked out in the first round. But man what a ride!! Now, tee-ball season starts, so here we go again!

See why I need a vacation??

My 4 yr old has been really upset with me for not booking him on that with his sisters and dad, so I tried to add him to the booking. Unfortunately I could get him added, even with your cancellations. :(

I'll just have to keep trying!! :)

Hi Yvonne! Nice to see you on here - sounds like you've got some great plans for the vacation! :thumbsup2 So glad it's not long to go now... :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

I was just thinking about you a few days ago! I'd say not having to listen to someone say, "They want HOW MUCH..." is an excellent reason to have the dining plan. (Though I admittedly still do that quite a bit myself...$70 sweatshirt, phhht, don't get me started :rotfl: ) Well, that, and all the FOOD!!! MMMMMMMM......

And Congrats on the win! Now, honestly, was there any doubt you guys would be champs? I mean, with your son's record? (A.k.a - Mr. Future-BB-Scholarship-So-Yay-Mommy-Can-Spend-Your-College-Fund-on-DVC :thumbsup2 )

Things are a bit clunky around here right now, so I'm on a little less, but still thinking of May daily (ok, hourly, minutely and minutiae-ly). Sure love reading everyone's plans and stories in the meantime! Helps build the excitement. Believe it or not I already have THE bag, i.e. the hot pink bag of cruise goodies, already next to the front door, as though I'm about to dart out any minute for Disney. If only... *sigh*

I agree - my MIL is a master of that but still grabs anything offered with, what I consider to be, indecent haste...

Already found, stolen and spent my DS14's own particular fund - he's a clever little chap and Mama needs handbags and points at the Contemporary... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hope things are OK with you, Brandi - still hoping we can make time for a quick drink as I would love to meet you... :goodvibes

I'd say not having to listen to that is PRICELESS. My mother is notorious for being shall we say FRUGAL - and frugal is good - to a point - but there was the time at the KFC in Waikiki that my sister and I will never forget - that mom wanted to share one meal between FOUR people - but let's not talk about that....

Awwwwww thank you! Talk about a proud mama :goodvibes And I simply love the idea for my future DVC!! Great thinking.

Same here Brandi. I am not sure I can get my circus of a family in line in order for a formal meet - but can I join you girls for the quick drink?? would love to meet you all too!

I doubt there'll be a formal meet, Yvonne. At the moment, me and mine will be enjoying a cocktail in the Promenade Lounge at 3pm on the first day - if anyone else shows up, that's a bonus! :thumbsup2 Other than that, I'm really hoping to meet you guys - even if it's to show off my comedy hairdo that I've just paid good money for!!! :sad2: I decided it would be "fun" to have a fringe (bangs?) cut in - OMG!!!! Never was a decision so swiftly made and then so long regretted... I look ridiculous and I can only hope the ill-advised fashion faux pas grows out in double quick time!!!

Awww thanks guys. You know how it is, things happen in threes (though really in fours, fives, dozens). Death, illness, mayhem, dentistry, you start looking around for the four horsemen, a few plagues, perhaps a voodoo doll with your name on it, that sort of thing. Culminating in...yes, you won't believe this...a stolen headstone and a dying cat (totally unrelated, I swear). Yes, that's right, it's like the dumbest Lifetime for Women movie you've ever sat down and watching at 3 a.m. except no man has done me wrong (or he'd better not, because to paraphrase Donkey, I'm a woman on the edge! :rotfl: ) So I'm really looking forward to vacation, but half of me is sick about leaving. Dunno, torn between two lovers (now try getting that song out of your head for the rest of the day).

Love to have a drink...can I get a taster now maybe? ;)

I know what I should say here is "you'll get used to it," "It will grow out," but as a woman I know you need to mourn for your hair. Here lies Karen's bangs...cut from life too soon. Rest in pieces.

But deep down I know it probably looks a lot cuter than you're feeling it does. I mean, Reese Witherspoon looks great with bangs, you must as well :thumbsup2 All you need is a few girlfriends to say "omg, your hair looks great" before you grudgingly change your mind. And on the bright side, bangs cover both the random pimple and brow lines (don't ask me how I know, I just know :rolleyes1 ).

Thank you, your comments are much appreciated. I'm s-l-o-w-l-y coming to terms with it - after all, what else can I do??? Maybe it'd look better if I was 20 years younger and 20lbs lighter -as it is, the best I can do with it is work the mumsy, moon-faced and moronic look...

And where are my manners?? Have an elusive Kir Royale... :drinking:

Okay, I've seen you all talk about these in the past. What are they?

It's a champagne cocktail made with 4 parts champagne to 1 part creme de cassis. Sometimes garnished with a raspberry or blackberry... Delicious... :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

Ok - well I was hardly ever here to begin with  but now that our cruise is less than 2 months away (dare I say 7 weeks, 3.5 days...) I'm spending much more time on the boards!
To begin I'll add my kids and those in my travel party to the list (since the other two families we are sailing with are intranet and definitely message board challanged...)

DS: 4.5 (signed up for club)
DD: 2.5 (not signed up for anything because she's stuck like glue to mommy)

And my friends kids:
Boy: 3
Girl: 6
Girl: 12 (who is very much looking forward to the tweens stuff)

OK - now that that's out of the way- I WANT MAY 11 TO GET HERE! I'm so obsessive lately. I want to start packing my DH thinks I'm nuts, not to mention he doesn't want our dining room table covered with suitcases for 7 plus weeks. I, on the other hand want to start getting stuff together. I'm trying to keep myself as busy as possible so the time flies by so I've done the following:
1. Quit my job (last day tomorrow)
2. Start a new job on 3/31
3. Start a 2nd part time from home job on 3/26
4. Decided to visit the ER for gallstones (on my birthday none the less- at least the pain drugs made the trip worthwhile!)
5. Having gallbladder removed on Friday 3/21 (that should keep me busy for a day or two)

I need to start getting some of the 'little' items I don't want to forget like bungee cords to keep the connecting room doors open (my mom is in the next room), and an over the door shoe rack - anyone know where to get a cheap one?? Also want to grab some 3M hooks and a few other things I can't think of right now.

All of our cruise docments are filled out, excursions booked (we are only doing parasailing), have my spa treatment all set.... and I bought 4 new bathing suits (all for me but after loosing 186 lbs I sort of needed them...).

I'm really looking forward to this - even more so because our closest friends and their kids are sailing with us and this is their 1st Disney cruise (our 3rd, but our 1st with our kids).

Hi Denise! Nice to see you... :thumbsup2

OMG!!! That's a crazy schedule you've got going on there - good luck having your gallbladder removed on Friday... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

And well done on losing 186lbs!!! That's abso-flamin-lutely amazing... :worship: :worship: :worship:
