May 11th 2008 ~ Any Double Dippers Out There?

Ditto on Palo, and our activities are snorkeling and the stingrays :thumbsup2 Though I worry our first full day is a little too full, kwim? You should have seen me last night, trying to pretend I was just casually watching the end of a TV show, but actually eyeballing the clock with my fingers twitching uncontrollably over the keyboard.

Overall I'm a little depressed though...now that this step is done, I've got nothing to anticipate or scheme about for a good 2 months (when cabin assignments come out). Two months! Sheer torture for a planning diva! :rolleyes1

Well done for getting your choices, people! :thumbsup2 We booked Palo's (brunch and dinner), a couple of spa treatments and also parasailing on CC!!! :goodvibes

I'm so glad it's almost upon us and I just know the intervening time will fly by!!!

Anyone else had success making their ressies???? :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Sending good vibes as well that everyone gets what they want!

Achem...Karen.

I really don't think you have enough cruises planned.

:rotfl:

I would swear that everytime you post there's a new trip added to your signature ;) :thumbsup2

Just hedging my bets, Brandi! ;) :goodvibes :rotfl2: And TBH with the crazy post-Christmas air fares, it looks like the NYE cruise ain't happening so that's one likely casualty...

Oh no! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that those fares come down -- I mean, New Years on DCL?! That would be amazing pixiedust:

Does not look like we will be double dipping with you guys in May.
DH received his vacation days, but his bonus has still not been handed out. It looks like it will be less then what was expected due to a slow year.
He was told bonus would not be given out till March now, when they are usually given out in Jan. That was my cruise money!:confused3

All categories 12's have been booked, and I don’t think without the bonus we can swing any other category right now. I looked at dates in August and the price is just so much more then May. I thought it would be more reasonable with the hurricane season. I have resorted to looking into other cruise ships; due they are just so much more reasonable for us at this moment.
But nothing is like CC. I so wanted to see it.

That's such a shame that you won't be sailing with us but I guess sometimes life just gets in the way!! Maybe we'll meet on a future cruise but, whatever happens, I hope you guys manage to get to CC before too long...

Best wishes...

Karen :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yes, it would be fab especially as seven of us would be sailing - me, DH, DD plus partner, DS plus partner and little DS! A real family party!!! Unfortunately the airfares are coming in at around double the price they were when I checked last year's comparable dates before booking the cruise!!! :scared1: We are paying for the cruise but the kids have to pay their airfares which are currently looking like $2000 apiece and they really can't afford that!!!! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: We'll keep our fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath...

Hi all,

Wanted to wait until I made the final payment on our cruise before I posted here. And yes, yesterday was the big day--paid in full!

This will be our first cruise--myself and my two DD's 11 and 9. We are beyond excited!

Does anyone know how the dining rotation works? We have the second dinner seating. Which resturant do we have first night? I'm very interested in this because I've been dieting for the last 4 months and can't wait to eat until my hearts (o.k. stomachs) content!! Allears has menus posted and I've been drooling over them!

Hello and :welcome: !!!! You and your girls are going to love the Wonder!!!!

As far as the dining rotation goes, you won't know until you get onboard which order you'll be visiting the restaurants in - it'll be printed on your Key To The World Card which you'll pick up at check-in... :thumbsup2

Giving us a little bump!

Karen - :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Let me be sure I have that right, on that airfare you do mean dollars and not pounds, right? Because the first is bad enough, but the latter is like hyperventilate and pass out. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that some good deals come through. And let me just say that you have the luckiest kids in the world :thumbsup2

Okay people, am I the only one who feels like the next few months are going to go by soooooooooooooooooooooooo slowly.

Tick Tock. Arghhhh! (not be be confused with Arrrrr! pirate: )

Thanx, Brandi! Yes, that's the price in dollars!!! OMG if that were £££ I think I'd be a weeping mess!!! :rotfl2: I'm checking everyday and there seem to be even less available now so the prices show no signs of coming down! It's a PIA but the kids are being all kinds of philosophical which I appreciate... :goodvibes

Thanx again - TBH they are very special people so I feel the luck is all mine... :grouphug: :cloud9:

Time-wise, I find the days/weeks just whizz by - maybe it's an age thing!!! ;) So I'm more worried about the cruise sneaking up on me and catching me with my pants down... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Our rotation for 3 cruises at the 8:30 seating has been

PC (causal dress)
Tritons (dressy)
Tritons (Pirate night)
AP (causal dressy)

(Having registered at 90 days, this sort of thing should have already occurred to me...)

It was not until last night during a walk with DH that I realized we're actually under the 3 month mark for the cruise. :woohoo: I tried to do a little celebratory half skip, but my crocs worked a little too well and it turned into something like a skid and stumble. Oh well, whatever works! :stitch2:

Thanks Pansy. The menus for all three resturants look yummy and the pic's of the Pirate dessert buffet--OMG! My jeans are tight from just thinking about it!

Heard from Make a Wish yesterday. They found out we don't need passports, just birth certificates and government issued id for the adults. So, they have officially requested this date, and say we should know in a day or two! Then we can start making reservations for Palo, babysitting, excursions, etc. WOOHOO!!! Our wish child has a glow of excitement in her eyes. It is nice to see that again!

I have been gathering things I think we will need or want for the cruise and have managed to get pirate costumes for DH, the 2 and 4 year old boys, and 14 DD, but still have to come up with something for 13 DD (wish child) and myself. 13 DD is afraid that nobody else will be dressed up and she will look stupid. She says she'd rather be the only one not in costume than the only one IN costume. Those of you who've been on DCL before... were the teens on your cruise dressed in costume? How about the adults? I don't want to go all out and feel like a fool (DD has rubbed off on me).

Gosh, I can't wait to start planning this more in depth!! Did anybody read about the fish extenders? I'm going to start working on door signs today, I think. Then I can start work on the fish extender, so if nothing else, the teens can leave us messages and their new friends can leave them messages. :D
