May 11th 2008 ~ Any Double Dippers Out There?

Too funny, now I wish I was going to see this.
Go phillies....

we booked our flights yesterday - airtran from philly.. cheaper to come down saturday nite, then sunday am...

i have enough points for a free room at either the Hilton Cocoa Beach or the Doubletree Cocoa Beach...

Is there a big difference between the two???

I will be the guy with the weird combination - NY Jets T-Shirt with the Philadelphia Phillies Cap...

See you there.

I am ready... Just booked the Hilton Cocoa Beach for precruise... Paying off the cruise this afternoon.

:thumbsup2

Hi, Is it true that we can make reservations for our cruise at midnight tonight? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that is correct (pscalculator does say tomorrow is 75 days out). However, for anyone not in the east coast, just remember you can book as soon as it is midnight EST (i.e. CST people can log in and book at 11:00 pm today, etc).

Good luck to everyone who is booking!!

Thanks for your help. Not sure what to expect as this will be our first cruise. Do you have any tips on how to book Palo? Am I wasting my time to even try?

Whoops, sorry I missed you! Hopefully this information will be a moot point and you'll have gotten the times you wanted last night.

You are most definitely not wasting your time trying. I think the concept of people not getting into Palo is greatly exaggerated (i.e. you only hear about it when people don't get in, kwim?). Now it certainly may be true people didn't get to book online, but most people seem to be able to get a spot once they get on board, as the theory goes they reserve about half the spots for in-person booking. So if you didn't get what you want last night, just get to the port early, get one of those lower boarding numbers, then on embarkation head over to Wavebands to make your dining changes. I think they may not open until 1 pm. That's what the navigators say, but I've never done this, so can't say if they open any earlier.

But since we still seem to have most categories available on our cruise, hoping the crowding is low and everyone scored the items they wanted to book.

Hi everyone! As we're getting steadily closer, I thought I should broach the subject of an onboard meet... ;) I feel the easiest option is 3pm in the Promenade Lounge - DD and I will be there and if anyone cares to join us then that will be fabulous. If not, we'll both enjoy a cocktail (or two) before the lifeboat drill thingy - either way, we're happy... :goodvibes

Let me know if you have any alternative ideas... :thumbsup2

Thanks for your help. I had no problem getting Palo reservations for the last night of the cruise:yay: I was suprised on how easy and how many different reservations I had to choose from at the 75 day mark.

We are on the 3 day land 4 day cruise staying at the Poly. I was afraid that the DCL bus that picks us up at the Poly might get to port to late for Palo reservations. Does anyone know what time the bus picks people up at the Poly on Sunday?

I think it's around 11/11.30am DCL pick-up from the Poly - time for an Ohana's character brekkie first??? ;) :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Does that mean there are still a lot of open cabins? Does that increase our chances of an upgrade? I shouldn't even consider it since we have 2 adjoining rooms - my mom is sailing with us because my son has high functioning autism and I have a 2 year old so she knows we'll need a break now and again.... we took a category 9 room, booking in on DVC points and paying for her.

:thumbsup2 I was just wondering about that.

Hey fellow cruisers - room for 2 more? We just booked today for this cruise - we were actually booked for the next week cruise, but moved it up a week so we would avoid Memorial Day weekend traffic coming home. :goodvibes

Anyway, this will be our 13th Anniversary trip with just me and my DH  . This will be my 7th Disney Cruise and my DH's 5th Disney cruise, so we are really excited to be going on a double dip cruise to our favorite place, Castaway Cay:cool1:

However, since we were late booking this cruise and past the 75 day mark now, there is no Palo ressies for the entire cruise:confused3 I was hoping to go to the brunch since I have not done that before, but I will keep trying and hope something comes up. Anyway else have this trouble? Also, not much left for the plain massages, only night times on the 1 day - so not a good time to go for a massage. I was kinda of surprise that everything was already gone, since the ship has good avaiability left still.

But, glad to be going back on the best cruise ever!! :cloud9:

We are doing back to back cruises May 8th & May 11th. Really wanted to do a 7 night, but also love double dipps. This will be our second DD and 6th Disney Cruise. We love Castaway Cay. Any other folks out there on the May 11th without children? Just me and my better half here. 2 Native New Yorkers (NJ/NY) just about to leave "Thirtysomething" behind. LOL.:worship:

Sounds awesome - I'm jealous of the whole B2B thing - esp when 3 stops at CC are involved!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: BTW, you have just used two of my fave cultural references - love 'Native New Yorker' by Odyssey and "Thirtysomething" was probably my all-time top TV show... :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: Anyway, before I come over all nostalgic and silly, I'm on the cruise with my DD (but she's 25 and more grown up than I will ever be) and my DH!!! Hope to meet you... :goodvibes

Yes, the 3 stops at CC is the icing on the cake for us. Only way we could get a full week and multiple CC days. Plus 2 Pirate Nights!!!!!!!

OMG I've only just realised you'd get 2 separate Palo dining opportunities too - B2Bs rule!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

We just booked last week (we just can't seem to the plan ahead thing -but hey, at least we booked almost a week before the rest our group did, not that its a contest or anything, :thumbsup2 )...it will be hubby & me, and some additional friends (complete group tbd :confused3 ). For now, plan to be spending the next couple months sifting through all the information to be had, trying to catch up with what everybody else already knows. :surfweb:

Mother's Day here in the UK today and I had a wonderful time - I was invited to lunch by my threesome at a local Greek restaurant where the champagne flowed and the food kept coming - delicious!!! Had some fab gifts too - Philosophy goodies, a DS Disney game, Rush Hour box set, Cadbury's choccies, a beeootiful bauble from NYC World of Disney store and a bottle of Chocolate Block wine DD and I loved in Jiko last October!!! Wonderful kids - I'm very blessed... :cloud9: :lovestruc :cloud9:
