May 11th 2008 ~ Any Double Dippers Out There?

DS saw the stingray excursion on the planning DVD, and he wants to do this, too.

Since we have the Double Dip at Castaway Cay, we'll probably give it a try.

I'm still hoping they resume the parasailing.

Anybody heard anything?

Also, I'd like to do the glass bottom boat tour as well.

Karen, Where do I get my hands on one of those Passporters? Do they sell them at Borders or Waldenbooks, or do I have to special order it?

I've been hearing how great it is from all the Disers!!!!

The Stingray thing sounds fab, Mary Beth. Very safe and instructional. I'm desperately hoping the parasailing resumes soon - I really want to do a tandem flight (if that's the correct term?) with DH in September...

I got my PassPorter from here! You can also get it from Borders or Amazon - it's up to you! All I know is I'm addicted to them - a copy rarely leaves my side... :rolleyes1

Karen,

Thanks for the link to the Passporter website!!

Do you think it would be better to wait until the 2008 version comes out to but it?

Also, what do you think about buying all the extras that go with it such as the folders, etc.

Mary Beth, I'm not sure. I think the 5th Edition only came out recently so I don't know how long we'll have to wait for the 6th. The current version has all the relevent info for our cruise - the main updates in the next one will be for the West Coast Ports of Call. I'd go for it now TBH but then I'm very impatient.

The cool thing about the Deluxe edition is you can just update it with refills in the future as it's a ring binder plus there are some handy organiser pockets (10 days worth) which you can personalise with all the details of your trip. I have an old Deluxe copy but the one I prefer for day-to-day browsing is the current paperback version... :thumbsup2

Karen,

You are so much like me, it's SCARY!!!!

I'm gonna go to Borders sometime this week.

I think I'm going to get the Deluxe version so I can add all my very detailed notes and my OEPD plans!!!!:lmao:

Thanks again, Karen!!!

Another thing to get excited about!!!!

No problem, Mary Beth! :thumbsup2 You are gonna love the PassPorter...

I feel shocking today - like I've got the flu coming or something. This is a total drag as I've got to get out and about - I'm taking my DD's car to various dealerships trying to get a good deal on a new car for her. Oh well, I'll just have to dose myself up and see how it goes... :headache:

I bought this year's passporter too, regular not deluxe. I couldn't stand to wait until the next version came out, so I'm glad to hear that I shouldn't be missing anything with regard to our cruise. I also got the Official Burnbaum guide because I wanted the glossy pages with photos. That's the only thing I wish they could change about the passporter.

Yeah, I'm not feeling so hot today, eithier.

It seems in Philly, you go directly from winter to summer.

My sinuses have been killing me the past few days because of the weather changes.

Hopefully, it will get better within the next few days.

I'm gonna go to the mall on Friday to get my Passporter.

Can't wait!!!

Oooh, I've not encountered that! Off to search on Amazon... :thumbsup2

Same here! Fingers crossed we both feel better soon. Managed to drag myself out of my sick bed yesterday and sort my DD's car out. Got her a great deal on a nearly new (1 month old) auto runaround so I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself! :woohoo:

I've been hooked on these Birnbaum guides (they are the official Guides for Disney World/DCL/Disneyland) since my mom received one as part of a "package deal" she booked for our family when I was 11. I read it cover to cover. The information is all the "official" Disney perspective so you don't get critical opinions on anything, but you do get color photos and it brings me back each time I read one to being so excited about that one particular trip as a kid.

I've ordered one! :thumbsup2 As we're doing so many cruises, it would be silly not to... :rolleyes1

Giving us a *bump* as were in the bottom of page 2 danger zone! :scared1:

Have a great weekend, guys! I'm off to Paris this afternoon for a couple of nights so I'll check-in when I get back... :thumbsup2

I've been off these boards for a few days because I think I'm straining my eyes looking at this computer!!!!!

I've been having very bad migraines for the past 3 days!!!

Karen,

We are quite the traveller, aren't we?

Have a good time and be careful.

Talk to you soon.

Mary Beth, that's not good. :sad2: Maybe you need one of those screens that you put on top of your computer monitor to cut down on glare - I've been thinking about getting one as I find that I squint more than I used to which gives me a headache so I've started wearing sunglasses (don't laugh) when I use the computer... :cool2:

Well, Paris is quite a short 2 hours 20 minute journey from here so we try and go as often as poss. We used to live there and it feels like going home... :cloud9:

Have a good week everyone - I checked my ticker and it tells me we only(!) have 12 months and 1 week to go!!! :woohoo: Can't wait to get below the 12 month mark... :cheer2:

Karen,

I wouldn't laugh about wearing the sunglasses! That sounds like a good idea to me!!

Maybe I'll try it!!

I really should go to the eye doctor, but if I need a new prescription for my glasses, my insurance will not cover them for about another 6 months.

Gotta love those insurance companies!!!

I'm glad you're able to visit Paris as often as you do. It must be exciting to go there!!!

I've got some family events coming up so I won't be on the computer for a few days.

Everybody have a good week and I'll talk to you soon.

Just giving us a little *bump*... Anyone else out there want to join our Mother's Day Double Dip???? :goodvibes

I'm excited as I've just realised it's 12 months today until DD and I fly over to Orlando for our pre-cruise stay in WDW!!! :cheer2: :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2:

12 months to go till our May 2008 trip!!! :woohoo:

Hope you are all as excited as me to be Double Dipping! When I'm having a tough day at work, I think about Serenity Bay and everything seems a little better. Hey, Mum, did you see that the Parasailing's back on?

The parasailing is back up?

OOOHHHH Good!

I don't really want to do the glass bottom boat tour because I saw in my brand spankin' new Passporter that it got a bad review.

So, now I can substitute the parasailing for the glass bottom boat!

Hope everybody is doing well.

Woohoo!!! 12 Months To Go!!!! Woohoo!!!

:cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :dancer: party: :dancer: :cheer2: :dance3::yay: :woohoo: :cool1:
