anyone following Tony Romo....I guess last year Boys against Eagles Romo brought Carrie Underwood and he lost miserably.....this year he brought Jessica Simpson....and his outing was even worse!! He better go stag next year!

Ok Holly, if you guys were up at 5:30am, why in the world were you late in starting your day...???:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Well, the problems started when we tried to finish his homework before breakfast. We did almost all of it last night, all that was left was for him to write the word "kangaroo". He got frustrated trying to write a lowercase "g". I assured him that's a tricky letter and that it's OK because he did his best, but he's obsessive about being a perfectionist, so he just couldn't let it go and kept trying to do it again and again ON TOP of the one he already wrote until it became a big blob of scribbles. That made it worse for him, he had a meltdown, things escalated from that point and we had quite an ugly morning. It involved him slamming his door, throwing some toys around, he had to sit in time out, then he refused to get dressed because he was mad that I put him in time out, etc. Then he climbed back in bed because he was TIRED AND WANTED TO TAKE A NAP when we were supposed to leave in 5 minutes. :headache:

But we survived. He was testy all day, but no more tantrums. Just always pushing my buttons the whole day. Nothing major enough for a time out, but he just grated on my last nerve. Not a fun day.

This will make you guys laugh, Vanessa brought home her interim and she got straight A's!! I guess she meant it when she said she would prove herself to me!! With 1,000 in her class, each grading period averages only 6 kids with straight A's!!

She has a boyfriend now too....turns out when Daniel was in 6th grade and this kid (Zach) was in 5th grade Daniel trained him to be a patrol. We all got a pretty good laugh out of that!! His mom loves Vanessa .... and she is spending a lot of time at his house (mansion....actually....). This is very good timing with me spending so much time at the hospital.
Very nice about Vanessa's grades! She sure did prove herself to you! ;) Cute about her boyfriend!

does anyone else think Vanessa from HSM can't sing all that well? We have been listening to the CD in the car way too much and it seems she is either singing through her nose or an octave above where she should....maybe it is just me. The rest of the main characters, well Ryan, Troy, Sharpay - evern though she sings like a snot in most of this movie, have really nice voices.
Unfortunately, each time I've tried to watch the movie, I just can't handle more than a few minutes of it. Not sure why, but it's just not catching my attention. :sad2:

what can I say Tebow is a typical man....spread out for all the world to see on the floor (hut his head is keeping my feet warm)...I wonder does he know he is missing parts?

I'm a dork, I love it! But then I love Grease as well....I have never sat and watched the first High School Musical...we have it on DVD, the girls just usually play it in their room.....

With all of that, maybe it was good that school was cancelled. When is his next appointment? and what doctor?

I am on the activities committee for our department....usually every year we do an angel tree or mothers helping mothers or something...this year we decided to help one of our own organization run programs and EIP - early intervention...everything turned out ok, but we met as a follow up today and several of the gals on the committee were so disgusted that the Salvation Army could not be bothered to call them/us back....I had to remind them that with it being the holidays, most organizations of this type are overrun with do gooders, as opposed to the rest of the year and this year they faced a greater challege with all the recalled toys...I know locally and Tampa - it seemed most donors dumped off recalled toys. It was bad. I don't know...it just seemed they were - IDK - not even thankful for what we were able to do (our own group of employees)....it really turned me off.

I should update on our lab adoption as well....we, were pretty much approved for Mousse depending on a home visit and after much discussion John really felt we aren't ready to handle an animal with such needs. Deep down I am sure he is right but I still wish we could have given him a good home.

It's very good he wasn't at school while acting like that. His next appointment will be with the psychologist in early January. The first appointment is just for the parents though (Jan. 8). She'll meet with him soon after meeting with us. Just a couple more weeks. We've come this far, that amount of time will be short, especially with the holidays thrown in. :thumbsup2 I plan on sometime this week taking to the psychologist his evaluation report from the neuropsychologist so she has a chance to review that info before meeting with his dad and I.

I'm pretty sure all future appointments will be with the psychologist, unless she determines that he needs to be seen elsewhere. And he'll have another EEG with the neurologist a few days before the cruise to monitor and compare the seizure activity.

Nan, yes, you lost your horseback rider when Peggy cancelled. So why don't you just pack up the kids and come to Phoenix for a visit? Jan/Feb/March is all great horseback riding weather. AND the Arabian horse show is in February...1500+ horses from around the world compete...it's pretty spectacular.

.

now that my friend might just happen...what are the dates in Feb? We have a break week of ~20th

I spent the afternoon at the hospital and the news is not very good. They had to put Frank back into a coma. He has way too much congestion and he is heading towards Pneumonia. They have to put some type of meds down and suction him. They said can not breathe on his own at all. But it a Catch 22...the longer he has the ventalator, the worse the Pneumonia...but while he has Pneumonia they can't take out the ventalator.....

He tossed and turned a lot today and they had to tie him even more tightly so he does not pull tubes out.

Oh Lisa, so sorry to hear about Frank. I hope this is a small set back. Pneumonia can be terrible so I hope it is cured quickly and you can have a good holiday at home together. (ok, maybe you can be at the hotel)

There is a Pirate and Princess Party on May 9th!!!!![/B]pirate: princess:

I'm in!!! Did you see if we can buy tickets yet?

Good news on all sides of this front :thumbsup2

disneylover5,
Sorry about your news about your DFIL. I don't know his medical history, but, as far as post-op pneumonia while on the vent goes..unfortunately it happens. They have a lot of wonderful antibiotics out there. And it is not at all uncommon to have to go back on the ventilator when being weaned off. Having said that, I know from personal experience (my DH and I have lost all our parents) that it is so hard to watch a loved one need something and feel so helpless. You are doing the best thing you can do by being there and holding his hand while you talk to him about everyone he loves...Vicki

Amy,

Still very far behind...

When is your Birthday?

I know that Noel's is the 20th. Mine is the 22nd. Are you a December Birthday girl too?

Karen--

My birthday is December 11th.

A quick driveby as I am frantically getting all the last minute things done before I leave on Thursday. Karen, both my grandfather and my nephew Erik are on December 22.

Thank you to everyone for birthday wishes and bon voyage thoughts.

Lisa, sorry to hear that Frank is back in the coma. Hope that things will turn around soon for him and he will be back on the road to recovery. Tell Vanessa congrats on straight A's.

Holly, sorry that you had a bad day with Tyler but it sounds like he was geared up for school and didn't adapt to the change in schedule. As for Blake, I am sure things are going to work out. Sometimes if someones answering machine is off, it will just ring and ring. Just hang in there!!

Marilyn, CES is the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas. The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a trade show held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association. At the show, many previews of products are introduced, or new products are announced.

The show is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center with additional venues used for specific specialties. The CES is now considered one of the major technology-related trade shows, following the cancellation of Comdex.

One of the things I want to see is the new Sanyo Underwater Digital Camcorder.

If I have missed anything else important it is because I am skimming the posts.

My friends Will & Mickey are trying to upgrade to a Cat 4.....only time will tell.

Ohhh if they get it can you ask them if I can see it? I've seen a Cat 1 and 2 but I still want to see a Cat 3 and 4.

Wishing Mickey and Will good luck and that they get their Cat 4.

I'm still in the lifeboat, I checked again today and no assignment yet.

Deb, congrats on the weight loss! I'm not starting my program until January 2, then I have 10 weeks before Mexico

Thanks. What program are you going to do Kaylee? Are you doing Mexico in Feb? Lucky you! Where will you be staying?
