I just had the best soup I've ever had when I went out earlier! Pepper jack crab soup! OH MY GOSH! It was so creamy and had big CHUNKS of crab. Yummy!!!!!!!!

WOW....it just hit home for me....I made dinner reservations for Christmas day at a restaurant in a local hotel that we always went to with mom. She loved it there....beautiful atmosphere, good food, great prices...I reserved for a party of four. That hit me. Every holiday or occasion we were 9-12 depending on whether my brother and his sons were with us. Now we're only 4. Sandi's leaving coinciding with mom being gone have really changed the dynamics drastically. Mom would always do a cheers saying that we were all together and that's all that matters.

Hello everyone,
The cruise sounds really appealing right now while we are waiting to see how big of a storm we will be getting in the next few days.
Gydell...how do you get all the info you have. You seem to have the scoop on things.:)
disneylover5..hope your DFIL is doing better. As a nurse, I can tell you that it's not uncommon for pts to look worse after surgery. And all the tubes and wires can be frightening, but often patients don't even remember the part right after surgery.:grouphug: to all of your family. BTW, my DH and I are in Chantilly this weekend for the Gem and jewelry show at the Dulles Expo Center--I would have asked if you were interested in attending the show with us..but obviously you are already overloaded with things going on. Hope the weather isn't going to be as bad as they say..we are supposed to go bck to Roanoke on Sunday...Vicki

Hi Vicki, tell me more about the gem and jewelry show. I'm very interested. Do they open it to the public? Can you buy or sell gemstones and jewelry there? Is it an annual event? Have you been there before? Any information you can provide would be very helpful. Thanks. I have some things I would like to sell and I'd like to go to a show to do it.

Anyone planning on doing the zip line/canopy tour? I'm in this, "step out of your box" mode and I REALLY want to do this but DH really isn't thrilled about it and he really shouldn't do it because this past January he had surgery on his scaphoid (a bone in the wrist) to have a screw inserted (we were in an auto accident and he broke it) and he really can't bear big time weight on it. Soooo, I really don't want to do it alone but I thought someone here might be up to do it. I think someone said they were going to do it...Monica, was that you? :confused3

We live so very close to the Expo Center and lots of my firends are going to the Gem show.

Lisa, have you ever attended? It seems it is open to the public then. Will your friends buy some great finds? I'm looking to sell some things. Do the vendors also purchase? Any help you can give me will be very appreciated. Thanks.

Okay, I have to tell you a secret about myself!! I HATE jewelery. I wear a wedding ring, but this is all. I don't own jewelery and I am perfectly happy!! I don't even wear a watch.

But all of that being said....here you go

Deb, I'm sure no Christmas will be harder than this first one without your mom.   Thank goodness you have John to help you get through it.

I'd love to do it, but I'm leary of leaving Tyler on the ship without me. I suppose if anything happened to me, he'd be fine with Heather, Tom & Bethany (ThreeBritts). He knows them well and is very comfortable with all of them. So I'll probably end up doing the zip line! I'll do it with you Lisa! And of course, anybody else who wants to do it.

Hi Lisa - yep it was/is me....I hope to do this in Puerto Vallarta. Join me please! I'd love the company! You can also help me out when/if I start to freak out due to the heights:rotfl:

Lisa and Monica,

I would love to do the Zip line. I would need to lose some weight, not a lot but enough to have to put in an effort, before hand, but what a goal to have. This would be my big splurge excursion.

This is one of the things I said I was interested in trying:scared1: I normally hate heights, so I really can't explain it, but I really want to do this and parasailing too:confused3 I've had trouble with my back lately, but up until the last few months I had been fine for quite a while, so I am being optimistic that by May I will be fine:thumbsup2 I keep thinking about my mom, the last person who would ever do anything risky, and how she came back from a trip to Jamaica when she was around 40 and told us kids about how she had gone parasailing and absolutely loved it. We were all shocked! So I guess I kind of feel that if my mom could do it at 40, I certainly can do it at 50

. . . Pirate might - May 22 this one I don't like because we have early seating and we are in Cabos until after early seating is over. With all our free days why are we having this on a port day?
On last year's PC cruise, they did it in port so the locals can watch the fireworks too.

I guess I will have to be back on the ship for dinner. Hope I don't have the 5:30 seating. I've had this the last 2 times. I would really like to have the 6:30 one. Did they do pirates night at Cabos last time? I was also hoping my DH would be able to do it. I guess I will just have to plan another cruise!

They are only going to have two seatings on the Panama Canal cruises
6pm and 8:30pm. This is what they did with the Transatlantic crossings amd European cruises this past summer
