I was just thinking of the cat 1s and 2s on our sailing. We know Karen has one of the 2s. But does anyone know if it is a DISer that has the other Cat. 1s or Cat. 2s? I'm still on the waiting list for one of those, although I have no hope of it working out. Just more curious who the lucky ones are!

We have a cat. 3 SR 8100 which is a handicapped cabin aft. We are also hoping 4 a cat. 1 or 2.

Fingers and toes crossed for you to get the cruise details worked out so Tyler can come along. :pixiedust:

Thanks! I can't imagine he'd deny Tyler this great experience, especially since he knows how much Tyler loves Disney cruises. And I could compromise with him and let him have extra days before and after the cruise, so it should be fine. :thumbsup2

Well of course it is very educational, and plenty of scope for learning too.;)

I think strictly for romance, the Royal Hawaiian won hands down. I have met people who go there once a year for the last 20 years. We were doing less sports or golfing on that trip as we were spending more time in the spa, relaxing and we rend to drive around the island doing the touristy type stuff.

Kauai is very beautiful but when we are there we tend to be more sports active. We will golf more, windsurf (DH) and sea kayak. I spend way less time in my room there or at the spa. First time we went there, Samantha was 6 months old so has a sentimental attachment for us.

I think it depends on what you are planning to do while you are there at either hotel. With either one, you can't go wrong.

Hope this helps.

Noel
Helps a lot!

Your Cat. 3 will be great, although it would be great for you to get upgraded as well! I talk a big game.....with DH's start-up mode, chances are we couldn't do anything other than what we got! (2 cat. 9s).

Exactly! He'll learn by seeing things most kids will only read about in school. Most adults have never even seen the Panama Canal, so it's a great opportunity! And he'll turn 6 four days after the cruise ends, so he'll definitely be old enough to remember a lot of the experience. I remember most things from age 4 and up. :thumbsup2

He can have a birthday celebration day!!!

John just woke up to use the loo (sp?) and said to thank everyone for their sentiments and let you know that he will be fine tomorrow and that he was getting on that boat feeling good no matter what...anything short of being dead he will be there and be fine!

He's back in bed after more meds and a swallow of coke.

I'm off to go soak my legs in the ocean, then a quick shower and getting ready for dinner. I'll check back with you all later.

You're not going to believe this! The TA I spoke with went to school with and was friends with Tyler's dad! She comes to town frequently to visit with family who live a couple streets away from me. It's truly a small world.

So the good news is that there's a plan in the works and I'll let you all know how it goes. Things are looking great for Tyler coming!
I'm glad you called All Seasons, and things are looking positive.

Enjoy the ocean Deb and then your dinner.

Unfortunately, she needs her deposit right away. I don't have $500 to give her, so I'm really, really bummed out. I totally understand her situation, so I'm not upset with her at alll. Just trying to figure out a way to do this. I suppose if I could just come up with $500 to give her deposit to her, I wouldn't have to worry about anything. Will have to give this some thought today. If Tyler's dad would come up with 1/2 of the $1200 we need to pay for Tyler's evaluation on Tuesday, that would be my answer. Then I'd skip taking our November vacation and would take him on this repo cruise in Cindy's place. BUT if I do that, I lose $500 for cancelling the November cruise, but will gain $500. Although losing $500 from that cruise will be a bummer, it just might be my answer.

Not sure if this will make sense, but if you cancel her now and try to add someone later, DCL may not allow you because they're too full (even if your room isn't at max occupancy), which means you'd have to pay a higher amount for the cabin than what you're already paying. I guess you should call DCL and find out exactly what you need to do. What a bummer!!!!

Sandi and I are back from our mani/pedis and John went back to sleep....he's not feeling good....he has a tummy bug that just won't quit....he took some meds and went back to bed. I sure hope he's feeling better by tomorrow.

Thanks to all of you well wishers. Yes, I do plan on having a great time, although I can't speak for poor DH. It's no fun being sick on vacation.

Holly, I got your PM and I'm hoping that you can work it out with Tyler's dad and take him with you on this cruise. We would all love to meet him too. Sending you good luck and pixie dust that it all works out!!!

:tinker: :tinker: :tinker:

Hope John feels better asap!! pixiedust:

Now.....to get his dad to agree to let him go for so long. I'll e-mail him about it because I don't want Tyler to overhear the conversation and get his hopes up.

Oh good - hope everything works out!! pixiedust:

I was thinking that too! If he does get to go on this cruise, I'm not sure we'd have the normal big birthday party we usually have. I'm sure he'd be happy with the tradeoff though! He can tell all his friends he celebrated his birthday with Disney! :thumbsup2
