Lots to comment on this morning.
Marilyn,
Sounds fantastic!
Let me know if the crockpot recipe works. I bought one for Ted a couple of years ago and it has hardly been used! Would love recipes for it and then I can "cook" too!
Yorkshire pudding is a favorite of mine!
Karen
Mmmm...sounds good. How did dinner turn out Marilyn?
Not good!!

Had it on low for 10 hours and much of it was still tough! I think I am going to give up on the thing. Yorkshires were not quite right either which is a disappointment as I could always cook wonderful ones. Tasted ok with the gravy though.

I will keep trying with those though. Roasties and veggies were lovely!
Just thought I would check in again --
I have tried to join this list a few times with no luck yet, but that wont stop me from sailing and having a GREAT time
I hope to meet up with some of you wackie people on the cruise -- just over 7 months to go

WOO HOO!!!!
Hello. Jump right in, we're a friendly group - just chatty!!!

Please tell us about yourself.
Mine is pretty much just interested in chicken and eggs...an offering must be made of those. She has been known to steal popcorn also. Oh, and ice cream, of course, but those last two items haven't been in the house lately. She occasionally insists that I add shredded cheese to her cat food. Honest, she comes and gets me, stands by the fridge then goes and looks at her uneaten food. She has me very well trained. (Though I don't bring home her own bag of Cheetos any more!)
Cats!!!

Ours was so fussy. We would find a cat food he finally liked, so buy a cupboard full, and then he turned his nose up at it from then on!
I've been spending time over at the restaurant board also...reading up on the
DDP. This is the first (and probably only) time I'll be using it, so I want to make sure I've got it down.
I love reading the reports and seeing the pics. That food porn thread is amazing!!
There is probably no way I will catch up here.
Busy weekend for us. DD#1, Mom, Sis and our very dear friends had a "surprise" 40th anniversary party for us last night. We found out it was happening, so not a surprise, but fun. We had about 70 some guests, renewed our vows with a minister we love, had a karoke/DJ, danced, ate and Dennis sang. A few tears, many hugs. Best friend came from Idaho and he took photos for us. Dennis' sis and hubby came from Southen Cal, nieces and nephews from Washington and local family and friends.
Our anniversary is not until next weekend, but we plan to take the MH out for a couple of nights to celebrate so the group decided to party the week before.
21 of us went to breakfast this morning, unannounced at our local fav breakfast restaurant. They had us seated within 30 min on a busy Sunday morning, got the orders correct and did it with a smile.
Sounds like a fun and very successful weekend.
Nan, I will keep you in my prayers. My mom has been with us for 6 weeks now and we had a very difficult summer with her.
She is not very happy to have lost her independence and I have no idea how to deal with that.
She does not want to be with us.....she is not very happy.
She will not go into assisted living, so this is ot for now,
Nn, I guess we are offically the "sandwich" generation
I am doing the dining plan this time...I have no idea where do eat. Can you guys tell me?
Lisa
Definately the sandwich generation - such a difficult time for you Lisa.
We do enjoy the dining plan, but seem forced somehow to eat too much.

No self control.

We love the California Grill, Kona Cafe, Yachtsman Steakhouse. Enjoyed Grand Floridian Cafe, Flying fish, Boma breakfast, Crystal Palace for the surroundings and characters. We had a bad meal at Le Cellier(both had grissly steak) but may give it another try sometime. We loved our first two Prime Time experiences but on our third we had a 40 minute wait in cramped surroundings and then a rushed meal - starters and mains almost at the same time and no server interaction. They were just so busy it was ridiculous. We may try again sometime.
Have a look at the menus in the dining section on here and on allearsnet.
One of the speakers at my conference was just incredible - his story was so heartbreaking and inspirational.
http://www.jimmaclaren.com/ There is a great video on his site that tells it. Anyway, he said the best definition of success is this: to be loved or to love.
With that, I say good-night and wish us all a very successful day tomorrow!
That video clip on Jim was amazing, thanks for sharing.
It's officially Oct 1st so I got on the scale....I lost 16 lbs....remember 13 of those are water weight gain from the fluids in the hospital...3 of them are real weight loss. For my first month, I'm very happy. I'll continue to do diettogo food because it really tastes good and it's so easy to do.....so hopefully, I'll have repeated success. Jackie if you decide to do it, PM me before you order because they give you a bonus for a referral.
Well done Deb!
Just sitting down after cleaning up... again!
We had DSis over for one of DH's gourmet dinners!
Prawn cocktail and polenta with chantarelle reduction sauce for appetizers.
Roast rack of lamb, bacon fried potatoes and asparagus with balsamic reduction and shaved parmasan cheese for dinner!!
My sister brought a lovely salad, but we were pretty full!
No need for desset, but baked cookies anyway!
He's such a great cook, but there is always TONS of clean up for me afterword...
Oh well, all done and dissing away!
Karen
Sounds wonderful!

You describe your meals so brilliantly!
Sounds like the office that I need to attack...
We are in the process of re-discovering our loft. It was full of boxes of stuff that DD took out of the back bedroom (another black hole) when we moved the furniture from there to the Bodega Bay house!
We boxed up the stuff, moved the hide-a-bed into the loft and all the rest back into the back bedroom. DD is now going through all of the shelves and cubbies to get rid of her "kid" stuff. Of course, she is re-discoveering some of her favorite "kid" stuff and is having trouble letting go of it all!!
Probably will put some of the Barbie and Brat stuff on Ebay. Still have lots of Disney and American Girl clothing to put on there as well.
Will attack the office and back bedroom soon... really... I mean it!
Then we will attack the storage unit with my mom and dad's stuff...
So much to do, so little time!
Karen
So much de cluttering and sorting going on!!
Deb - so glad the legs are improving now.
Nan, thanks for keeping us up to date about your mom. Hope things continue to go well.
Phew - marathon post.
