Kathe! Congrats! I'm so happy for you! Please bring a picture with you next month.
I had a good day today....though started out later than I had planned (couldn't get out of bed). Spent about 4 hrs cropping pictures from my trip to Ireland last year, getting them ready for the scrapbook.
Thanks Monica, and yes, I will be sure to bring a picture of Serenity, and also one of my daughter on her wedding day:love:
Sure wish I could get moving on scrapbooking. I have a couple of friends who do scrapbooking and they're awesome (both the friends and their scrapbooks :rotfl: ) I bought all sorts of supplies, but I just can't get going:confused3 I think I'm a little bit intimidated because I know I can't create anything near as artistic as they have. Hopefully once things quiet down here I will attempt this again.
hmmm, not sure I have ever been to anything Free relating to wine at Epcot....John did the Sam Adams thing.....but - if it was me, I would have probably talked your ear off!

BTW 50+ is Super Young!
Oh well, thought I'd ask! Since I have gone solo a number of times now, I have met so many great people, and I love it when they talk my ear off!
Warmest congratulations on the birth of your new GD Serenity. Your son and Samantha are very lucky to have such a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother to help them during this joyous time. I am sure you will make all the difference in helping them learn to cope with a new baby and a new life.
Thank you Noel, that is very kind of you to say:goodvibes It's so nice to see you posting away again! Glad you are starting to feel better again.
Kathe, congratulations on that new little girl. She will bring you a lot of joy! It sounds like you are doing all the right things in being supportive of them in this difficult time for them. The problem I see is spending 2 months with her and her mom and then having them move away. That will be difficult for you. You will have to make many visits!
Thanks so much Angie:goodvibes You are definately right! I am going to hate this baby being so far away. But I really hope they can all bond and form a happy, loving family :grouphug: I have a trip planned from Oct21-Nov2 at WDW and am already regretting having to leave them for 12 days. But I can't get a refund on my airmiles I used, and I really do need a vacation, so I am still going. I booked way back in Feb and didn't know about all this then. My daughter and my parents will still be around and I know they will take good care of Samantha and Serenity while I'm away.

Congratulations!!!

Thank you:goodvibes

wow, so we really have decided.......a new pup..a LAB....!!! Not sure if we can be lucky by xmas time, but we can try...we have been S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G all night and Samantha turns to me and says (just now) "are we getting a new dog", guess we didn't do too well!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Reading and posting:rolleyes1 I'm afraid if I sign off i won't be able to get back on for days again!

Although I may not post as much as a lot of you, I try to read as often as I can, and am amazed at how generous and kind you all are to one another. So, where generally in life I have learned to be a little careful what I share with others, simply to protect myself from hurtful comments and judgements, I have decided to share with you what has been one of the most joyous days of my life.

Today I became the grandmother to the most beautiful baby girl:angel: :cloud9:

At 9:25 AM , Serenity was born weighing 8lbs 14 oz.

You may remember my daughter was married in May. Well, two days later, my son (who moved to another province in Feb) informed me that his girlfriend, who still lives here, was pregnant and expecting in Sept. We have had a few tough months. His girlfriend, Samantha (yes, yet another Samantha! ) and him planned to move her out to where he is after the baby was born. She is young and scared:sad1: One day she wants to move, the next she wants to stay here, how hard to have a new baby and move half way across the country where there are no friends or family. She does not have a mom around which just makes this harder. So my son took some time off work and came home a couple of weeks ago and Samantha has moved in with me for now. And finally, a week late (after being told by the doctors she was definately going to be early:rolleyes: ) a sweet baby girl was born this morning:goodvibes They will be coming home, to my house, on Monday. My son needs to go back to work on Thurs and Samantha and the baby will stay with me until Nov then move out west. I am so worried about how they will make out and whether Samantha will actually be able to follow through with these plans. But I try very hard, especially after losing my husband 5 years ago, to live each and every day for itself. So, on this very special day, I hope to share with all of you , the joy of being a grandma for the very first time.

Kathe
Kathe, thank you for sharing your joyous news with us! Samantha is so lucky to have your support and care. Little Serenity will be surrounded by love! Congratulations on becoming a grandma! :yay:

Just noticed, in 12 hrs I'll be allowed back up in the hospital to see Serenity:goodvibes oh, and Samantha and Brian:goodvibes

Holly - you made me tired too reading what you needed to do. Did you get any of it done?
Yup! All of it! Except I forgot to take my grocery list with me to the store, so I forgot to buy toilet paper. And my laundry is still sitting in the dryer. Wasn't dry yet before we left for the bonfire. Too tired to fold it now.

Did you have a couple smores?

:rotfl2: Yeah, I was bummed too when I discovered I can't do the spelling trick anymore with Tyler. Sure didn't last long! :lmao:

V: I love, love, love the new pics of your girls! So adorable! :goodvibes

When friends of mine were talking about the puppy they were going to get for the kids they would always spell D-O-G. Well when they finally brought the puppy home the oldest asked if this was DEEOHGEE (D-O-G) so that is the name that stuck for the puppy - DEEOHGEE.

Good luck with training.

GatorFamily....did you get rain up there? We just drove through a downpour on the way back from Deer Valley....but it was dry as a bone on my street....we have SUCH bizarre weather here, eh?

WELCOME IFKY12! Just jump right in and get posting!

Lisa, loved the DL pictures....gee I may really need to pop over there in Oct or the first week of Nov for my birthday. HEAR THAT WOODY??
I just don't want to spend the couple 100 a long weekend would cost when I have a cruise the first week of December...seems unresponsible somehow. :confused3

It actually didn't rain here(it did last night)...it was really gray and cloudy I was sure my DD soccer practice would get cancelled but it didn't. It was great weather to be at the park...a little bit humid for me though;)

I sure did! We had so much fun at the bonfire! I was worried about Tyler being bored because I knew no other kids would be there, so I'd warned my co-worker whose house we went to that we might not stay long. We got there at 7 and didn't leave until 10!!!! Tyler almost fell asleep on the way there because he'd been up since 6am and was really ready for bed. I almost changed my mind about going because of how tired he was, but he had really been looking forward to it. For about an hour, he was content to sit with all the adults around the fire, and he was actually our story teller. He made up a spooky story, and was telling us all sorts of things. Very entertaining! He was mesmerized by the fire and had fun cooking his hot dog and marshmallows for his s'more. Our host had a big box of toys outside for him to play with (she keeps it on hand for guest with kids) and he had fun exploring the contents of the box. Later when our host went to get more firewood from her barn, he got to ride in the little trailer she pulled with her tractor. He helped her load it up with firewood and she let him help her drive the tractor back. It was a great time and a great new experience for Tyler because it was his first bonfire. :goodvibes

this was earlier today in their NEW Gator swimsuits.....that I spwnt a fortune on last weekend.
]

love the pictures...cute bathingsuits. :goodvibes Anything Gator out here costs a fortune too. I keep forgetting the florida bookstore prices on gator apparel...when I was a student I would go off campus for better prices:)

That's really cute!

here's the result of BUILD A BEAR..AKA, swipe your purse...

Let me tell you....Al E Gator, has on a UF t-shirt underneath that generic outfit along with panties, roller skates, we have a sleeping bag, sunglasses, SKETCHERS, A PIRATE OUTFIT for Halloween and matching boots....need I go on?

Love the Al E Gator...wonder if I could get it here in AZ they probably only have it in stock in FL. Love the cute cheerleading costume it has...I wish they would have a gator one but all they have is the tshirt:sad2: I know pricey but how fun for the girls...they look so happy in the pics. The hair doesn't look noticable...at this age it blends...my daughter still her part(more to the side though) shorter too:)

That is so funny. When I was in college a very good friend was Ken House. he always said he was going to name his daughter DEEOHGEE ... D-O-G House.....isn't that terrible

I always loved fall in PA - hayrides and bonfires. Glad you both had a great time!!
