there's nothing on tv tonight...maybe I can get something done around the house. John has a ball game and tomorrow is trash day, I might be able to get some stuff to the curb without him knowing!

Big Brother is on!

For those of you that are renting jeeps in Aruba, who are you renting from?

For those of you that are renting jeeps in Aruba, who are you renting from?

I contacted several companies for group rates and locked them in - I think it was between 60-80 for the day rental including gas and insurance - the info is saved on my work pc. I think I had 9 jeeps at the time and told them there may be more. It is right at the port so we don't have to go anywhere.

I got some great info from cruise critic...a sample tour of the island. I was going to map it out and send to everyone before hand so we everyone could decide what they wanted to do, Aruba is not a large island and the only thing we would have trouble seeing is the natural pool as I read the best way to get there is on horseback. But they say the whole thing is super slick and I could just see my two falling.

working on dinner now...the shrimp looked too good at publix to pass up. The broccoli, asparagus, shredded zucchini and snow peas are simmering in two sticks of butter (I know!) the bowtie pasta is cooking and I will throw the shrimp in in about five minutes and toss it over the pasta!
Yum!
I picked up a nice baguette as well.

in the mail today - the Disney planning DVD, I ordered the one from DL, but this looks like it is WDW. We'll find out when John leaves for his ball game!

We are a bit sad tonight. We sent our dog Gator to go live with my mom. She has five acres and there is plenty of room to run. Gator has been sort of lost since Lilly (her mom) died and my mom has a rottie named Big Un - and he's truly is the size of a small pony and they lost Gator's father Ernie last year so Big Un is pretty lonely as well. I know it will be good for both of them, but I am sad just the same.

We would like to rent one if possible. When you get the time can you give me the info. Not sure if we will do the whole day, but think the 3 traveling with me should see the lighthouse and maybe get lunch there and if the natural bridge is still there then run there. The main road goes to the end of the island where the lighthouse is located.

We had to have 1 of our dogs put to sleep last month and the other dog is totaly lost. It is hard too watch them knowing there is not much you can do. It sounds like your dog has a good enviroment to recup in.

WOW! I'm gone for 3 days and 30+ pages behind. I'll try and skim them over the next few days but we have certainly gotten chatty here again, so keeping up will take most of my time! :lmao:

Taylor started K today and took the bus. Yup, I was the mom in the minivan following the bus to school so I could be there when she got off:rotfl2: She was so excited to start and didn't even get teary eyed like her dear old mom!!!

V....did I miss all the WDW pics?! Did you have a great trip?

I will send you the info...we (DIS'ers) planned to tour a bit together (a few probably the whole time) but at any time you are able to go off on your own. I think though the more jeeps we get the cheaper it is and we don't have to go in a group at all. But my thinking was - for 4 people (my family) for an excursion it would I am sure be well over $100.

well the clan is fed, John is off to softball and the girls are in the tub. Hopefully they will go to sleep early tonight!

Holly - how was Tyler's day?

Kaylee - yep I posted pics...too many!

Deb - hope you are doing ok.....!

Marilyn - I am sure you are asleep now!

Same here, and since I have been there before I am going to take my family to what I thought was interesting.

Lisa/LiserAnn I don't see any news on the fires in Greece anymore...what's going on? Are they out? Did your mom reach her family there? Hoping all is over and everyone is okay!!!!! :cloud9:

The fires are still burning. She has spoken with her family and all is fine, for now. She heard of a story of a mom and four kids that they found charred to death, hugging one another. They tried to escape by car but there was an accident and so they got out of the car and tried to escape by foot but the 100 mph winds that were propelling the fire, caught them...and the rest you can surmise what happened. How awful!

Thanks for asking!

Well, we're off to dinner - it's our anniversary too! 14 years!!!! Happy Anniversary Karen and Ted!!!!

Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to all those celebrating!
Wow - 14 years Lisa, that's awesome!

Happy Anniversary!!!

How long has everybody been married and yes I mean to the same person? I married my HS sweetheart and we've been married for 37 years.

We will hit the 40 year mark Oct 6. DD, DS and DM are having a "surprise" :lmao: party for us Sept 29. They planned to have it a week early to "throw us off." :rotfl2:

Oh, and we met at Disneyland, love at first sight, married the 9th time we ever laid eyes on each other.

Thank you! :yay: I just can't wait to hear all about his day! I'm going to try to remember to video tape him telling me all about it. That would be cute for him to look back on in the future.

that reminded me of one of our school traditions from when Molly was in Kinder.

I have a little notepad and asked her the same questions for about a week in a row

What did you do today?
Who did you meet?
What was your favorite thing?
What was your least favorite thing?

I did this so I'd have something to journal for her in her scrapbook. Now the funny part....Molly went to 3 kindergardens. We started in private Catholic school. Had a bad fit. (read between the lines a big fight with the administration) Moved her back to her Montessori preschool until a spot open up in her last school. (fortunately) We were the 21st person to be on the wait list, but since we had not yet enrolled in the district we got placed at the top of the list. Wow!
