Holly, we need to have TiggersPal tell you her horse/llama story!

Well, I'm off to grab some rotisserie chicken and turn on my Sunday night shows.

Tuesday is my weigh in for the Biggest Looser III challenge over on the WISH forum. I have to get SERIOUS about this!

So glad I still have another day off....not making much headway on the household tasks yet.......:rolleyes1

Hi, I hope everyone had a good weekend, best part is it is not over yet.

Daniel just told me that VA Tech selected him to try out for the Bowling Team. Tryouts start Tuesday. I told him it would be a great birthday present for me for him to make the team!!

If he makes it, he travels all over even Vegas. Not sure if that makes me happy or not.

The whole Big 10 network thing really has me frosted. They ran full page ads telling you to call your cable company to get it on basic cable. Phooey! Cable costs too much as it is, and how many more channels do we need? All in the name of greed. They couldn't make enough money from the established networks, so they are now alienating their fans with their own network.

Same with the NFL network.

If I can't watch the game on Saturday, I will get things done around the house and listen to it on the radio like I did yesterday. Pretty soon our kids local hot stove baseball league will have it's own channel!

Living in CA we don't see our cable companies ever carrying it. But for us its been a challenge to see too many games since we moved here as most games fall under regional coverage. So actually since Direct is carrying it nationwide at least now he can go see them on tv in a sports bar instead of paying $20 a weekend for ESPN game plan. (Or waiting for hiw parents to mail him tape of the game - if they remembered to push record that is.)

Plus for this season Penn State only has 4 games scheduled for the Big Ten network - we thought they would carry them all.

And we have no plans to switch to satellite!

I just picked up a bottle and my nearby wine shop and paid $21something ($23 with tax) (750ml) I now have TWO bottle in the fridge....better have some pals over now!
I'd be right over if I lived close enough! :thumbsup2

YUM! Tyler and I used to eat one of those for dinner. He got tired of them, but I still could easily eat one every day!

Aw, don't worry about household tasks.....it's a holiday weekend! That's cause for sitting around doing nothing! ::yes::

Oh wow! Good luck to Daniel!

Well, our plans didn't go quite as planned, but we still had a great day! Tyler and I did go back to Llamafest today and this time he was cracking up over one llama that kept nuzzling up to me and acting like she was kissing my cheek! :rotfl: Then she tried to sort of wrap her neck around my neck and I told the owner I think she wants to come home with us and be our new pet! :rotfl2: It was too funny! Those animals are so affectionate! It was great fun.....Tyler bought another llama stuffed animal to go with the one I got him yesterday. He used his tooth fairy money and is thrilled to have 2 llamas now.

He seemed sleepy, so I headed home, thinking he'd take a nap, but he just wanted to play with all the toys he's earned back the last few days. :thumbsup2 We basically just played on the floor most of the day, just having simple fun together until his dad & stepmom picked him up. He'll come back home tomorrow evening after they spend Labor Day together. After I mow tomorrow, I'm going to try really hard to motivate myself to put his firetruck wallpaper border up in his bedroom just to give him a special surprise.

Holly,

From everything I have read about Tyler, could there be environmental issues at day care? Just a thought. He seems like a wonderful little boy. So thoughtful and loving when he is with you. Maybe I am reading things differently.

We just got a phone call that a dear friend had a heart attack this evening and did not survive. I hate the shock, but I am glad he did not suffer. We were in church together this morning and the sermon was always, every minute of every day, being ready to meet God. One second we are on this side and the next second we are on the other and we need to be ready. He was not old, he was just an awesome man!!

Exactly! That's why I was so freaked out and confused with what was happening with him the past few weeks. It was definitely something related to day care. I really think it's just the drastic changes they made there and how unhappy he was because when he's with me, he's such a great kid! But whatever was going on there, it's in the past. He never has to go back again! :woohoo: He just keeps telling everybody, "YAY! No more day care....NO more babies!"

I found out yesterday that on his last day at day care (Friday), his dad did get a phone call to pick him up early, but it wasn't for his behavior. He woke up from naptime with what looked like hives all over his abdomen. He was itching like crazy! When he came home yesterday morning, one was larger than a quarter and there were 3 more that were about nickel size, then a few smaller ones. But after regularly smearing Benadryl ointment on them, by the time he went back to his dad's this afternoon, they're all very small. Strange.

Lisa, I can't even begin to imagine how shocked you must have been, especially since you were with him just this morning. I'm so sorry for your loss! :sad1:

Glad to hear that you will have help. good vibes for the reading.

Does it every start getting real?

I had to stop by my aunties today to drop off some things and just seeing her made my day a litte harder to handle. Some times it just hits me out of nowhere. My auntie and my mom were best buddies always doing things together and looking out for each other. She says she is doing ok but I know that this has been very hard on her. I have been calling and checking on her as much as possible.

You and she may be the best support for each other and at the same time you may each be trying to be 'strong' for the other one. Only you two can decide how to play it out with each other, but I think it is great that you are checking on her.

I cannot tell you how much it helped me to cry when I lost my Dad. The best advice anyone gave me was to let the crying happen whenever it needed to come out because if I did not hurt, it would have meant he did not matter. And he did matter--a lot. So, I cried.

:sad1: One day I was crying on my way to see a homecare client. A bill board set me off--who knew. When I got to the door the baby's Mom asked what was wrong so I told her. We sat and cried--me about my Dad and she about her Grandma--and we shared stories about them through our tears. What a gift that was!! Not a physical hug, but an emotional one.

Then I was able to handle the therapy session for the baby.

Nan, that cake was fantastic!

I just picked up a bottle and my nearby wine shop and paid $21something ($23 with tax) (750ml) I now have TWO bottle in the fridge....better have some pals over now!

Jackie,

Our price is under $20.00, but shipping doesn't become "a non issue" until it's at least 4 bottles. There isn't any tax for outside orders.

Just an FYI!
