thanks for the well wishes for mom. she is still hurting tonight, so I hope tonight she gets rest and feels better on her bday.

okay this football talk is so going right over my head, okay and that's a good thing....let's move this conversation back to shoes where it belongs.

I bought 2 pair of sandals (for the cruise) one is gold as my NYE bunch is calling for gold dresses for our formal night. I hope the shoes match my unpurchased dress :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: the other pair go with my ivory semi-formal dress. I got it last summer in london and now I have shoes to go with it and just think a cruise in hmmmm 8 months to wear them on. okay that's just sad huh?

Hugs to your mom and hope she is better by her birthday. If you need anything, just send me a pm.

I use to buy too many shoes myself but am getting to the point in my life if I buy more shoes, where on earth am I going to put them???

I'm watching HSM2 now and it's the baseball scene. I must say this is my favorite part of this movie.

ok, now I am looking at old pics, we have such great memories!

here is Samant's first encounter with Charming....I love the jaw!

And THIS is my favorite picture of her!

Well, I will cheer against Michigan ANY day. We are big Ohio State fans.

Help us out on September 8th. We are making the trek from Arizona to Michigan to watch our beloved Ducks in the Big House!

We went to the Michigan game in 2003 at Oregon, when the Ducks beat the then #3 Wolverines. It was one of the best games we have ever attended. Lloyd Carr said Autzen was louder than any stadium he had ever been in - including the Shoe and the Big House. Our ears did not stop ringing until the next day. Hopefully we can pull off another Michigan upset. Game will be on ABC at 12:30 EST.

Well it's two hours before I have to leave for my wound care center appointment...where they will probably admit me into the hospital. Of course, I'm freaking out in a panic because I DREAD any type of medical procedure. I need a valium or two or three, but I don't have any. I'm on my own today because John has taken so much time off this past year between me and mom and Ray...he had to go in.

My dog was chasing the cat last night and banged into the back of my legs and I started seeing stars. It still hurts this morning. Great, just when people are going to be poking around on them today. I have such a low tolerence for pain, which I have every day, then I go to a medical procedure and burst into tears when they start poking around adding even more pain.

Well I already wrote down all my illnesses and all my medications...wow the list is long for both. I never realize until I have to write it down. Now I have to pack a bag and get dressed...can you say procrastination....I feel like I'm being a big baby, but I just can't help it. I remember being with mom in the hospital eight times in the last eight months and seeing all the things that they did to her...she was so brave and I am so not.

OK, I have to get my act together...I refuse to think about anything that's going to happen today...I'll only think about Mickey's ship...sipping BBCs by the pool...sitting on the balcony in the middle of the night...hearing the horn go off out of port...pulling into a port with the steel drums music playing...meeting all my new DIS family...ok it's working, I'm feeling better now. Cya all in a couple of days...hopefully not long.
 :upsidedow

Think happy thoughts for a speedy recovery! We are all thinking of you and hope to have you back with us real soon!!

anyone have any Disneyland restaurant recommendations?

I just read that the new complex Disney is putting up should be opening in Spring 2008. It will be a large eating, shopping, entertainment complex with a bowling alley and movie theater, Cheesecake Factory, Wolfgang Puck and your normal mall type places. It's going to be called something like Garden Walk and is on the Harbor Blvd side of the parks.

So this will give everyone many more food options.

John....tell Deb we are all thinking about her and send her lots of    and pixiedust:

V....did you ever answer, who was that star in the picture???? Great pics, my fav was the one of Sam seeing Prince Charming, what a GREAT expression!

Nan, hope your mom is doing better.

Ok, I can't keep up with you guys chatting like this, :lmao: I am supposed to be in classes all day learning new and great advances in the medical world and all I want to do is skim the boards and see what new things are happening.

I just finished Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult, she is a great author.

I almost forgot, I was in a class today on the treatment of autism. The doc was using before and after videos to show the improvement in the kids behaviors and verbal abilities. The last video he shows this boy who is talking all about his disney cruise and the great things that happened (kid's club, mickey bars, seeing characters, fireworks, etc). I thought it was so funny that that was the video he chose to show....made it hard to not think about the cruise for the rest of the day. DCL follows us everywhere!!!!

UT is bad too. Ark is wonderful. Probably one of the nices schools we have ever played was Southern Cal.

Yep! Our Trojans are a class act whether they are winning or losing! :cheer2: We take as much pride in that as in the outcome of the games.

Yes, the Geeks (us, PJ,Vanessa, Angie, Kim and Families) are staying at the GC for Sunday and Monday night. I can't wait to see where it all began. As a kid, I always wished to go to Disneyland, but my family could not afford a trip to California.

I used to watch the Wonderful World of Disney and dream about going there some day. So even though I have been to WDW many times, Disneyland will be special for me.

It is special, John1. Although I love  WDW, there is just some special Magic at DL.

Deb-I know you are going to get better soon now that it's being taken care of by the Dr's...we are thinking of you:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

gydell-I kept reading, reading, and trying to catch up just trying to figure out your alma mater...oh, Auburn...hope we get a chance to win this year:goodvibes A couple of my HS friends went to Auburn...although most of us went to UF.

All the football talk ...we are looking forward to it and seeing how Tebow does. I'll have to admit going to the the BIG Championship game and winning those B2B titles ...it's been good for us Gators. :cheer2: I'm set for another 10years... but hopefully it won't take that long;)

Back to the cruise...how many formal nights are there? And there is pirate night and how about carribean night or anything else? I also tried to find what activities they had for families, kids, and/or adults from the previous PC cruise ...but couldn't find it.:confused3 I sure hope they do some educational things for the kids at the kids club(I heard they did on the MED)...I would like them learn about the culture and/or the panama canal.

I think it was Lillygator who posted about a week ago a breakdown by day of the dinner activties. I don't remember which days they fall on but there were 2 formal nights, 2 semi-formal nights, pirate night and a tropical party night (mexicalifragilous - I think).

WOODY! nice to see you, man!
Thinking about you, too! Last night, I made a CD for you that you'll love!

It's been a busy summer. The Disneyland Half Marathon is in two weeks. Last weekend, Mrs. Woody and I went 6+ miles on Saturday, and 10+ miles on Sunday. (We go along the beach, so I can't complain. But Anaheim will be at least 10 degrees warmer -- ouch!) Each time, we walk past Deb and John's hotel at the Redondo Beach Marina, and think of them and hope Deb is doing better! (Hi Deb!)

Tomorrow we have house guests arriving from England. We've known this couple over 10 years, and traveled throughout Europe and the U.S. together. We last saw them in May after we visited Prague. The woman is a serious runner, and has run the London Marathon many times. So, we'll have a week together before the Half Marathon.

Thanks for the recap:thumbsup2 ...I have a hard time keeping up with this thread so sometimes I miss some things:confused3

My job is to hear all the complaints at a Veteran's Hospital. Some people are just angry with everything, some have legitimate concerns, some just have mental illnesses that make them unable to control their anger. My job is to listen, calm them and make it all better. :)

You must be so patient.:)

send some pixie dust to CA too if you could.

This morning my mom fell just outside the doors at the check in desk.

Fortunately it wasn't a terrible fall, she has a bit of pain when she laughs and breathes deeply. We are going to see the doctor in the morning (she wasn't in today) and have to talk about a walker or cane to keep mom steady.

Tomorrow is her 80th bday. Saturday is the big suprise party, we have 55 rsvps so far. expecting another 5 or so.

Molly and I are on our own tonight, the boys went to the go-kart track. We're off to grab some dinner then a quite night at home.

check back later,

Nan

Sorry to hear about your mom and her fall. I hoe she is improving now and can enjoy her birthday.

Ok, I won't bore you anymore, cleaned out my pc! Now to download more!

V, the pictures are just wonderful. Your girls are just so cute.

I'm 9 years older than Peg! She was present from mom and dad to the three of us that arrived earlier ::yes:: Best gift they ever gave me. :thumbsup2

That is a lovely thing to say. Not all sisters get on so well and it is nice to hear.

On a UK Disney forum I post on there is a very active 'Special Needs' part, and many of the children represented by parents there are autistic or within the autistic spectrum with Aspergers. There has been a thread recently saying how their children all love WDW and how it is a very special place to their children. Some of their trip reports and photos bring tears to my eyes. Disney work with them too in making the time special.

Deb, I hope you wake up this morning feeling brighter.

First I have to say, this mornings English lesson was the best laugh I have had in months thanks again GRANMAZ I needed it:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

well DEB was admitted early this afternoon, she is so frightened and upset. I wish there was a way for me to help but I can't and it drives me nuts. She's in one of the top 10 hospitals in the north east, so I know that she will get the care she needs but I'm still worried. They say that she will be there for a few days (Sunday or Monday out). You here, her (our) DIS friends have been her anchor through this last few months and I can't say it enough THANK YOU.

p.s. she ordered a broadband card for her laptop on Tuesday so that if this came to pass, and she feels up to it she'll be DISing from her bed before long.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

John,

Just got home from work a half hour ago, so late hear and very early there.

Please give Deb my best and tell her that this is for the best and everything will be fine soon!

Take care of you too, try not to worry too much!

Sending you both tons of hugs and pixie dust! If I lived closer, I'd bring you a glass of wine to help you relax!

XO,

Karen
