Good Morning

About Mickey Ice Cream, while we were on Med. Cruise and we never saw it:confused3 Maybe because we were in Med. Cruise.

They gave our childrens different ice cream and they enjoyed it.

My job is to hear all the complaints at a Veteran's Hospital. Some people are just angry with everything, some have legitimate concerns, some just have mental illnesses that make them unable to control their anger. My job is to listen, calm them and make it all better. :)

Angie,

Both of my parents worked in Veterans Service. My mom worked in prosthetics at the VA Hospital in Martinez and my dad was the County Veterans Service department head.

They did have to deal with some unhappy circumstances, but most people were very grateful for the work that they both did. I'm sure there are many that are thankful for your service as well.

Hang in there!

I was thinking about getting this for my brother-in-law for Christmas (no stealing this idea Peg!). Thought it might whip up some enthusiasum for the trip ('cause Mickey doesn't quite do it for him).

V, when are you doing DL? I have a couple of fav places to dine in DTD....Catal and Jazz Kitchen. Of course, you must visit Goofy's (buffet)in the DL Hotel for character interaction and I like any meal at Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian (I think only breakfast is a character meal). Karen will tell you the best adult meal is Napa Rose (STILL haven't made it there yet). And the best kept secret for a snack/meal is WhiteWater Snacks by the pool at the Grand Californian. We found chocolate covered strawberries there that were smaller that the ones in the park, but priced VERY well.

V,

We do absolutely think that Napa Rose is THE best restaurant (anywhere, almost). We liked Catal, but didn't Love it.

Rainforest Cafe is great, but you have one in WDW.

We love Blue Bayou as well. It overlooks Pirates of the Caribbean and has wonderful Monte Cristo Sandwiches! An ADR is a very good idea here!

We also enjoy meals at Storytellers in the Grand Californian Hotel.

Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland hotel is excellent too.

Character dining is Goofy's kitchen at DL Hotel, Minnie's Breakfast at Disneyland's Paradise Pier Hotel, Park Plaza in DL (just like Crystal Palace in WDW, but not quite as good). Storyteller's Breakfast in the Grand is really good and the characters are great.

Turkey legs are now in DL!!! WOOHOO!! We love those in WDW and now they are at DL.

Brennan's and House of Blues are also in Downtown Disney and are very good.

ESPN Zone too and it's fun for the kids!

Ok, that's it for now!

Karen

Help us out on September 8th. We are making the trek from Arizona to Michigan to watch our beloved Ducks in the Big House!

We went to the Michigan game in 2003 at Oregon, when the Ducks beat the then #3 Wolverines. It was one of the best games we have ever attended. Lloyd Carr said Autzen was louder than any stadium he had ever been in - including the Shoe and the Big House. Our ears did not stop ringing until the next day. Hopefully we can pull off another Michigan upset. Game will be on ABC at 12:30 EST.

You got it!

And Nan, it is almost fall, and the talk BELONGS around football, not shoes!

Good Morning everyone, TGIF!

At Tech only 26%of the freshman got tickets to the first game. They use a lottery. Daniel did NOT get a ticket. I checked ebay, craigs list, stubhub....any other suggestions where I could buy him a ticket?

Auburn has a webpage that people sell tickets check under VT tickets.

GOod morning everyone! Sorry I've been absent for a couple of days. I was quite busy booking a WDW trip! Thank you to Southwest for supercheap airfare!

Olivia and I will be flying down on our own, and then meeting up with some friends from the Dis Oct 22-27.

Of course, I've now remembered why I book vacations so far in advance usually-- dining reservations are TOUGH to get! I was dreaming of that mushroom filet at Le Celier, and they're booked for the entire week!

ok the star in the pic was Michael Mantenuto who was in the movie Miracle. John went up to him in the pool and asked if he believed in miracles and he laughed and said yes, but shhhh....after that whenever we saw him around AKL he would always talk to us, he even sat at the pool bar for a while with us and his DD and Samantha splashed around in the pool.

Well I'm going to be brave and ask here first.

Do any of you DVC owners have points to rent for 4 nights before the cruise next May. I am thinking BCV or BWV, because of The garden thingy at Epcot, but would consider anywhere. I estimate 68 points if at BCV.

I highly doubt any of you would have any left giving your love of WDW, but I thought I would ask.

It is a beautiful day here. It is also one of our Bank Holidays(public holiday), so John is off work on Monday. We will potter around home. Our son and daughter in law are back from the South of France and had a great time, but were a little disappointed with the weather. Seems the French are disgusted with their weather this year. Just like us. I think Northern Europe has not had the best summer weather wise.

Roll on November and our WDW vacation and cruise!

Good Morning everyone, TGIF!

yes, I agree! Although we can throw shoes in there for good measure now and then.

I just hope I have good news about UF football to post. I don't want to make the drive home after a loss!

I am looking forward to the weekend although I need to get packed, haven't done much for this trip at all. I wonder how Haley will do at WDW with big girl panties? Maybe we'll have to pick up some new Tinkerbell ones!

We can talk about shoes - I have 3 different pairs of Auburn shoes!

anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend?

Thanks for all the dining suggestions at DL, looks like Napa is probably out as it sounds like a nice romantic evening sans kids....! Maybe another visit!

The first time we went to WDW after DGS was potty trained was a mess. He wouldn't use any of the bathrooms in the park because they were Mickey's and he didn't have his permission. Needless to say we had to buy some pull-ups since we couldn't find Mickey everytime we needed to go to the bathroom!

I'm throwing a Bachelorette party this weekend. I'm like the WORST choice for this kind of thing, because I'm such a homebody, but I'll suck it up!

send some pixie dust to CA too if you could.

This morning my mom fell just outside the doors at the check in desk.

Fortunately it wasn't a terrible fall, she has a bit of pain when she laughs and breathes deeply. We are going to see the doctor in the morning (she wasn't in today) and have to talk about a walker or cane to keep mom steady.

Tomorrow is her 80th bday. Saturday is the big suprise party, we have 55 rsvps so far. expecting another 5 or so.

Molly and I are on our own tonight, the boys went to the go-kart track. We're off to grab some dinner then a quite night at home.

check back later,

Nan

How funny! (although I am sure it wasn't at the time!)
