Kathe, Lisa, Marilyn....thanks guys....it seems we will get to the source of things now...Lisa, they told me about the weight thing too for the edema. They said sometimes it just clears it up and sometimes it doesn't. But it's worth a try. I just received my first month's worth of food from NutriSystem. This is my first order with them and I started it today....so hopefully, it will help and when I can I'll add my exercises at the ballet barre that I just got.

In 7 days I gained 13 lbs....mostly fluids because I threw up for 3 days in the hospital and ate a hospital diet for the next couple of day...so it's not the food intake this last week....yet I gained another 13 lbs...in one week....that's a lot of fluids!

I hate it when my weight goes up like that and I know it is the fluids. You just feel terrible. Look up, www.diettogo.com The taste is so much better than NutriSystems..I think it is a little more expensive, but very easy to stay on. I lost my first 15 pounds that way and then I had learned about how much food I could eat and I have lost the next 15 on my own.

Take care and stay quiet,
Lisa

Thanks Lisa...it looks good. I've already got the first month with NutriSystem so I'll do that for now, but when I finish it I'll try the one you recommended. As long as it comes in the mail, it works for me.
:thumbsup2 :cutie: :thumbsup2

Deb,

Have been reading through ALL of the posts tonight and I just keep thinking to myself...

...with everything on her plate, all that's been going on, the pain she must be in, she is still so generous of spirit, kind-hearted and full of good thoughts and words for everyone.

I think that you should have your puppies name, Angel Deb.

You truly are a bright light and an inspiration to everyone!

Thanks for all of your  and

Karen

karen, you give me way too much credit...when I got my balloon and bear and flowers and minnie pillow and a visit from Lucy and Bob while in the hospital....John and I said, how lucky are we to have connected with such an outstanding group of people who are givers and so kind. We've got to be the luckiest people on earth to have been able to find all of you and be a part of what we have going on with our little family here. I feel like we should call it DISnation because it's so unique. Think about it, any other cruise, any other thread, there's always someone to watch out for....but not here....everyone genuinely cares about everyone else. So it's not just me....it's all of us together....and I feel so fortunate to be a small part of it all. Hugs to all of us....our DISnation family.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I downloaded these just now--just for you! ;) Hope their happy faces cheer your day!

So sweet of you Lisa...It worked...I got all happy and excited when I saw these darling smiling faces. Thank you so much for doing that for me! Everytime I look at your two, I see my two nephews....so exactly the same. The older tall and blonde and the younger shorter and dark. Both so cute!!! And your third baby seems to be the proudest dad ever!
:thumbsup2 :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Angie,

I seem to remember someone else having this problem on another thread, but cannot remember the solution . . . you may want to try the technical support thread. My guess is that it is something within your browser or your system causing the issue.

All the smilies also have keyboard equivalents. Have you tried using them? If you hover your mouse over the smiley, it should show you the keyboard equivalent to the smiley. For example, if you type a colon followed by a close parenthesis, you will get the plain old smile :). There are lots of people who do not click on the smiles, but have memorized the keyboard equivalent to the ones they like to use.

John,

Learned something new again! Love the DIS Learning Team! :surfweb:

This is frustrating, I keep losing my server connection:headache: I just called and guess I need a new modem from them, but it will take 4-5 business days to get here:sad2: I will have an awful lot of catching up to do! In the meantime I keep trying, but every few minutes I lose my connection, ugh!
Kathe

Kathe,

Computer failures are so frustrating! My DH is still trying to get our systems all back up and running!:confused3

So annoying!!! :headache:

BTW - we carry the Banfi in our wine shop and I am shipping some to the ship for the cruise along with other Champagnes and Sparkling wines for our Champagne party in our suite!! :drinking1

Hi All...it was a rough day yesterday, I never even got online. I'm about 20 pages behind in posting, but up to date with all the reading. Today the brother mother hen comes home. YEA!

Yesterday I went to my first follow up wound care appointment. I learned a lot. My condition is not just the result of the puppy scratching. That's how it started, but that's not why it happened. Initially it was the edema and they have to find out the cause of the edema. They will do diagnostics testing at my next appointment which is on Tuesday. They said it's either vascular or arterial...one carries blood to the heart, the other out of the heart. One or the other or both has a problem. I told them of my Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and my AutoImmune Disease and they told me that they wish they had a dime everytime they heard those diseases mentioned along with the edema, infection and wounds that I have. They have a vascular specialist working with the wound care as well as the infectious disease specialist. They commonly interrelate. I have been seeing a rhumotologist and I thought that's all I needed to do...apparently not....so now begins another level of diagnostics and treatment....all of it extremely painful....hope they give me good drugs....at least we'll get to the root of the problem and get it fixed.

From that appointment, we went to the moseleum with Ray on his and mom's 21st wedding anniversary.

Then we had an errand stop to run and then went out for some lunch. By the time I got home, I was exhausted and elevated my feet and crashed.

Now, back to where I left off posting....I believe I was about to repond to Bubba.....

Gosh Deb! What a long and arduous day!!

I do hope that you have a group of people that will take care of the situation for you. I also think that getting your nutrition in check will help tremendously. I know that I need to do the same.

Take care of you!! Try to find something fun to do today! Maybe have a glass of wine? :drinking1

XO,

Karen

Hi Lisa, I live east of Calgary and very south of Hinton. We are Calgary Flames fans!!
I have booked at the Radisson so I will see you there and also at Grills or is it the Grill??
Cant wait :)

Gosh Deb! What a long and arduous day!!

Look who's talking...the pot calling the kettle black...you and Ted have had your nose to the grindstone with the new store and now the computer problems. I'm so glad you decided to run away for the weekend. You can't keep pushing without any breaks.

I agree and I'm seriously working on it...I hope it helps, but it can't hurt!

Would LOVE to have many glasses of wine, but probably not a good idea with all the extra meds that I'm taking. Will have to hold off until they're finished. So you have one or so for me. Cheers!

XO,

Karen

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, do nothing and get some rest to recharge those batteries!:hippie:  :hippie:

::yes:: I so agree! However.......secretly, I've always wanted to be the person you had to 'watch out for'! :darth: I guess I just don't have it in me....at least not for more than a few minutes at a time :lmao:

Yeah, and I'll probably be ordering a mess of bottles from you too!
I'll let you know if I can't find a bouchon at the wine shop around the corner.

I've looked online for this country and only found one place that sells it - £66 for 6 bottles -about $20 each I suppose, but I dopn't want to buy 6 bottles! Roll on next year.

Just had a lovely meal out at a local French restaurant, with a couple of our friends. We had a lovely evening. The place reminded me of Le Chefs, with big windows, though the view wasn't anywhere near as nice!

I had Tuna and the rest had lamb. John and I had desserts(:lmao: ), creme brullee for me(oh yes!) and sticky toffee pudding for John. Our friends had starters. I can miss starters completely but have to have a pud!!

If you mean 20 POUNDS per bottle....that's high, as it's around 20 DOLLARS a bottle here (or a few dollars more).

Goodnight Marilyn!

Oh my gosh, Noel! I remember seeing "America" at the Concord Pavilion (now Sleep Train Pavilion) when I was in High School! (Many Moons Ago...)

The were one of my favorite bands!!

Have fun, hope you sleep better tonight!

Karen

Karen:

I did sleep better last night, thank you. We all did spa days today including manicures, pedicure, massages and facials. Lovely, lovely day!!

:goodvibes Thank you! No way will I let him find out his dad let him down by causing him to miss out on this special occasion. I'll make sure starting Kindergarten is a memorable event for Tyler. His teacher met his dad & stepmom last month and could see their apathy about the whole deal, so she completely understands what's going on and is willing to do whatever she can to make sure Tyler's happy. She told me at orientation, "Don't worry, we'll make everything work out just fine." :thumbsup2

I think it is so sad that Tyler's Dad isn't excited about Tyler's first days at kindergarten. My DH took so many pictures the first day you would have though Samantha was a movie star!!

Sorry to hear you had a bit of a setback with the wound care treatment. I am hopeful your rheumatologist will have a more effective treatment plan to get you back on the road to recovery!!
