I just emailed DU and asked them to downgrade me to a Cat. 6....still on a GTY only, but now I'm on deck 5 and not on 7, which I prefer....and I saved approx. $150....more money for DODs!!!

Sorry to hear you are poorly Noel. I had noticed you weren't around, but you have been busy here and there so I didn't worry. I hope the Dr gets it sorted for you and you are soon feeling well again.

Phooy....I just looked up Cat 6s and found out that I could get assigned a SR on deck 6....there's no guarantee that I'll get on deck 5. Oh well, guess I have to hope that I'll get on 5 and be happy that I saved a few dollars.

Originally, I requested SR# 5122 because it's my favorite. It's a Cat 6. At the time I booked, there were no Cat 6s available so they gave me a Cat 5. Now I got my Cat 6, but I could end up on deck 6. At least, if we're close to you, it will be worth it....we could be neighbors!!!!

Why do you prefer deck 5 over 7?

I love being closer to the water...I've been on deck 7 once and felt that I was way too high. I also like that I have the theater closeby and most of the restaurants....also the beverage center...always aft on the boat and just a short elevator ride away. I also like that I don't have a whole hallway full of rooms....so it's easier to find mine. It takes me a full week to find my way around the boat, then it's time to get off. If they put me in a different area, it'll take me two weeks to find my way around, then it'll be time to get off again. I'm really bad with directions and on the boat I'm worse!

This cruise will be my 6th and I've spent all of them except one in my room...it's like home to me. Some people have a second home on the beach....my second home is 5122.

Well as long as somebody didn't get in early and manage to nab 5122 rather than a gty, then you have just as much chance as the rest of us as being allocated it!! I'll feel guilty if it is me!

I didn't get it....by the time I emailed DU back and they tried to change to a Cat 6...it was already gone...a total of maybe 15 mins.

I'll just have to keep checking and next time I see one, tell them to just do it quickly!

I'm repacking because I leave here tomorrow morning to go to Phoenix, pick up my nephew (below) and Wed. a.m. we're driving over to DL. His mom will join us Fri. evening and I'll come home Mon.

We're on deck 6 aft - Category 6 - so if you end up there we'll help you find your way around!
