:laundy: I wish there was a SMILIE for packing! We just got back from the Transatlantic and then a 12 day Med. cruise on Carnival......my DH read me the riot act on packing.......too much of this, too many of that! I wore EVERY PIECE of my clothes, and I will agree with him that I over packed t shirts and "good" clothes for him and our son, since DH wouldn't wear most of the "nice" clothes I packed. AND they don't need more than 7 pairs of socks and underwear, my DH will do :laundy: any time!

My big problem on this trip was that we took the airbed just in case the extra bed was uncomfortable....well they were good on both ships, so that was a wasted piece of luggage. BUT we do need all kinds of extra stuff for DS Patrick, since he's disabled; his wheelchair, his backpack, his bedrail, his computer, the sling to lift him from the floor if he falls (which he didn't do at all this past month!), his mp3 player, etc. ANd of course I NEED my camcorder and digital camera! Also all these things need chargers!

Next trip you will see us in the same 2 outfits the WHOLE time......:dance3: :lmao: Reminder to self: only 2 pairs of shoes! Only the MOST comfy! Wear stretch sandals to dinner!
But what about PIRATE NIGHT?pirate: AND FORMAL NIGHT? :groom: ANd FANTASY NIGHT?princess: :wizard: :mickeyjum

Oh, well, I have 11 months to think about it! :rotfl2:

That is some packing list!!! A lot of hard work too.

Shoes will be my downfall so I will have to carefully work out what to wear and see if some shoes will go with more clothes. We also need theme park clothes and shoes!:scared1: Shouldn't need too many heavy sweaters though. I always overpack - I like to have choices!!!:rotfl:
I am not really looking forward to washing on the cruise as I have heard the laundry is very busy. I hate wasting time trotting up and down waiting for a washer to be free!:sad2: I usually don't mind at all at hotels.

Fortunately, cell phones don't work out to sea....so they can't find you either!!!:thumbsup2  :thumbsup2

If the Magic keeps the same setup they had for the TransAtlantic cruise then cell phones do work in the middle of the ocean. Just don't tell the people you don't want to call you.

I see you are from N. Yorkshire. We have been there several times. Where are you from , exactly? We've been to *****tone, Durham, York, and the Penines. It's a beautiful part of the country. Connie
oh, heavens above! Did you see that the DISBOARDS automatically put astericks in the town name: I'll change the spellling slightly: Pennistone. Maybe it does actually have 2 n's.

Have you ever heard of Onesole shoes? They are great! You buy the sole and then get different tops for them. Very comfy! I had 8 pairs of shoes including formal ones in less room than 1 pair of normal shoes.

I know where you mean even if the filter blocked it!! That is a fair bit south of us, but yes the country is nice. Durham is further north but we have never been. We really should!

We are actually in Harrogate, just a few miles from York. York is one of my favourite places, but since we moved here 6 years ago we have only been once!:confused3 I think it is because Harrogate is so nice.

Do you come over here on vacation? Do you have family? Most Americans don't get up this far - just pass through from London, Stratford on Avon and then up to Edinburgh!! We have some beautiful scenery.

What:confused3 ....I say limit the non important stuff like socks and undies rather than shoes:lmao: :rotfl2: !!! Uhoh, here comes the "shoes" talk again John!! Seriously though, I will have 1 suitcase just for shoes, already bought it just to give Scott a year to get used to the idea:rotfl:

Noel...hope you get better soon and that the doc helped to figure out what was going on! We miss you around here!

Welcome back Mandy....glad you are feeling a bit better. Sorry to hear about the cat trip though. Dogs aren't much better, I trip over our 80# dog everynight (no I haven't learned) if I get up to check on the girls or something.

Bubba...great site. I only got to peak at it this am, hope to see watch it more later. What are the best times? Thanks for sharing.

Well, back to work:sad2: Long day today and then PTA meeting tonight:scared1:

Bit worried we'll disappear on to page 2!!!

Been a good day today. Hope you are all enjoying your day.

Anyone ever heard of africam? Hear is the most recent link....

It's a live streaming camera at an actual waterhole at a game reserve in Africa. They are 10 hours ahead of Calif. time. So about 8 or 9 here is early morning there and a good time to watch. We have seen elephant, rhino, lions, zebra, baboons, monkeys, giraffe and much more. Very cool and addicting!:thumbsup2

Ever since your post I have been unable to respond because I'm addicted to seeing any life on this webcam. I can hear crunching etc - but haven't seen anything yet!!!

Kaylee, you rock girlfriend...the most important stuff is not the clothes....it's the shoes and accessories and yes we girls do need one full suitcase for such things. that's why we're girls!!!!princess: :cutie: princess:

Noel - Hope you feel better!!!

No really, it real. We have been hooked for about 8 months. You just never know when an elephant will show up or a herd of cape buffalo. Some of the best times are early morning our time, which is evening their time and evening time here, their morning. if you check it out tonight you can catch the sunrise and see the actual lodge if they pan the camera just right. Some times you can even catch the safari jeep leaving on a "grand circle tour"
popcorn:: Just keep a weather eye out and you should see some critters.

So funny, I was sitting here eating popcorn at work when I read this!!!

Ok, I'm going to leave it up until I go home and then try later at home! Thanks so much!

Just back. Not a bad trip considering. MIL is better in some ways but not in others. I guess that is what it is like being almost 91!

I am going to look at Delaware on our map and see where we could fly to!! Is Washington an option?

Hot here today(for us) 25degC, not sure what that is in F, but it is warm!

Baltimore/Washington (BWI) would be your best option....and rent a car. Philadelphia and Washington International would be okay too....just a further drive.
Lisa

Been under the weather for over a week. Not sure what is going on healthwise but will keep you guys posted. This is the first day that I have been online since 6/5 and have much to catch up. Got a doctor's appointment today and will check in later.

Noel

Me too, I have not been feeling very well at all. I will pray for you.

I knew there would be someone out there to share my love!!! OK shoe girls, where are you, I know there are more hiding out there somewhere:lmao: It's funny, right now the radio station out here has a "pick your pump" contest...either 106.00 gas card or any pair of shoes off this website (up to 250.00). Almost everyone who wins picks the......GAS:confused3 :scared1: :confused3 And yes, they are women who still pick the gas. Of course they always say something like, I really want the shoes but........ let me tell you, no contest here for me...it would be the shoes! I can stay home and walk a bit more if I had to:rotfl2:

Just wanted to say 'hi' to you all and thanks to everyone for their messages of concern and sympathy. It's lovely to feel you have so many friends...even ones so far away. Thanks especially to Maz, Deb, Karen & Carolyn for all your kind words...and to John for the great e-card!

I promise I'll try and get my 'sparkle' back soon Deb!

I can't even attempt to read back all those pages but I hope everyone is doing well.

xxx:grouphug:

I have been praying for you and I will continue. You will feel better....it will take time though....

Virginia is south of the Mason Dixon Line??????

Too many northerns in Va. Same with Fl. The Mason Dixon line is a fact of history but not the true north - south line to us that are really southerns. Nothing wrong with other parts of the country just looking to see if anyone is near me so we can have a dis meet like everyone else does. Do you want to come to Atlanta....anyone? Somehow I feel left out - :rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl:
