How old were you?! :scared1:
Oh, I was an adult. I think I was 23 or 24. She didn't tell me where we were actually going, just invited me out to breakfast. Then on the way there, she told me she was doing a run first and that I'd have to suffer through watching the event first, then we could go to breakfast (but still didn't tell me where we were going). She had a habit of telling me we were going somewhere, but conveniently "forgetting" to tell me the whole truth. This was at a place called Turtle Lake Resort here in Michigan. Gross! What really disturbed me was seeing the families participating. As a parent, I just can't imagine raising my son with the clothing optional lifestyle.

Anyway, she still laughs about how she tricked me. :sad2:

Ok, I realize I am here all by myself....bring in Karen's song here....but I am so sad looking at my sig line:sad2: Before it was Ok, since I had this past trip planned and looking forward to, but now nothing....I think I need to come up with a trip excuse between now and next May. I am thinking about the first week in December since I love that time at WDW. The problem is, convincing DH.....any suggestions?! :lmao:

Well there is the chance of a minimeet on 6th/7th Dec!!! We are there from 25th November and going on Wonder 4 nighter on 2nd Dec then back for 4 nights to the 10th. Some others from on here are 6th for the weekend for a meet of their old cruise friends so we are hoping for a minimeet!

Kaylee,

Thanks so much for sharing the great pictures! We are booked into AKV for November and we were just in WDW in December, but it's always fun to live vivaciously through others photos!!

I still have some to share from our trip last week (was it only a little over a week ago?) but haven't gotten to it yet because of our shop opening!

Karen

Karen...you will have to tell us all how the AKV really are! Did you buy more points there?? We are close to buying there as well, but I don't think I can rationalize spending that much for points, when I can get resale cheaper....but those villas and designs look so great.

So, is the shop opening going great?!

Well, today is our hottest day yet of the season...it got up to 85! I'm glad I was at work all day because anything over 80 makes me miserable. If this were a weekend and we were home all day, I'd have to finally turn on the central air. It stayed nice and cool inside while I was gone, since this is really the first hot day. :goodvibes

Got caught up and now I'm headed out again. Quick shower, then out to meet a co-worker for Mexican dinner. Yum! Hopefully I'll be home on time to watch Lost (and do homework, of course). Catch up with you all later!

Now I know where you got your sense of humor.

I knew I could count on you to get that info.:rotfl:

I thought the exact same thing when I read Noel's post. I never thought to post it.....and when you did it made me laugh!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

If we stay, we'll be staying at Hotel In-Laws in Anaheim. I'm sure Nana and Papa will want to hear all about the cruise.

I like the price of this hotel!!

Oh I forgot to tell you guys where my lucky spoiled child gets to go this summer. She is going soccer camp for a week at Pepperdine University which is Malibu. For those that don't know it is overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I wish they had this stuff when I was a kid.

Pepperdine made the news big here in DC when Ken Starr became the president of the University......what a beautiful place!!!

I have the list and as we get closer, I we can make more plans!!

We have heard from Vanessa, (our exchange student) and Disney World is one place I want to take her for sure!! She now knows we are her host family. More to come!!

That sounds great. How old is she? My DD8-soon to be 9- is heading off to camp this summer too on Vashon Island for a week of fun. I looked for a soccer camp for her, but they were all too far away :sad2:

What a glorious place to go to camp!! Samantha was accepted at Pepperdine but decided to go to the University of San Diego instead. We sure loved touring the campus!!

It was great. We were probably laughing because LiserAnn's DH is a riot. Everyone will love him. They both are great and I just wanted to kiss her adorable boys. Actually every one's kids are so cute. I was laughing on the way there because my DH kept asking me what are we doing and who are these people. I said I don't know who they are we will find out together.:rotfl: He ended up talking more than me.:scared1:

Gee whiz, thanks! We had a great time. It was really nice to meet everyone. Your girls are gems. DH got a kick over how your youngest commented that she wanted to go to Hawaii. DH said...isn't she about 4 or 5? How does she know about Hawaii? He was laughing about it!! Cute!!

DH was actually pretty excited to meet everyone. He says, knowing people in advance really enhances the whole vacation experience. He said the only problem now is we have to wait a year to sail....after meeting everyone it put him in vacation mode!!!

He got a thing in the mail today from the Navy. They offered him up to $180k in medical school and living expenses PLUS a $20k bonus, commission as an officer upon graduation, monthly living stipend, etc. etc. Sure sounded like a great deal to me, but he won't even consider it. He wants nothing to do with a military career.

Sounded like a great deal to me - no debt upon graduation . . .

This is what Leslie did after grad school. She had to finish an internship year to complete the PhD process and the USAF offered pretty much the same thing except is was compensation and not for schooling/living expense. She went in as a commisioned Captain and the extra three years (well five because we were at war and stop loss) helped get us on our feet. Then signed a contract with the AZ state prisons, which they paid off her $100,000 worth of school loans. Now she is an independent contractor with the USAF as a Psychologist - her contacts brought her back. USAF is now trying to create a postition for her as a GS14 which would give her benefits. Will see what happens, but the military has been a great experience for her.

I have to agree that knowing people on your vacation make it more fun. Don't get me wrong, I love DH and the girls but on a whole I think a "group" tends to have more fun...someone is always bound to do somethign laughable....hopefully not me of course! ;)

My boss' eldest son graduated from there! Gorgeous campus - tell her to have a great time!!!

I'm hoping I can get to the wine meet! I have to figure out what to do with the kids, though, because I would really like my DH to come. My parents would also enjoy it--but they're my childcare for these kind of events!

I think I have one of those faces. About 12 years ago, I was frequently stopped and called Dr. ______ (forget the name)--some doctor here in San Diego. I've also been told I look like Michael J Fox's little sister on Family Ties (again 20 years ago); then for a while I looked like the woman on Grace Under Fire; and most recently (though I don't know why, because she's so much thinner than me), I've been told I look like that blond woman on Desperate Housewives (don't watch that show, so I don't know her name...).
Felicity Huffman - you are much prettier than her or the gal from Family Ties! Although I love Felicity...at some point I'll figure out who it is that you remind me of.

I guess I should have said she was going to soccer camp.:rotfl: Oh well! That's what I get for thinking to fast like most moms.

That is her new kick! She must have seen it on a commercial or something. She was doing the Aruba one for awhile until I told her we were going there. I guess she decided to work on dad for a new place.:rotfl: I wonder where she learned that from.

You guys were moving WAY too fast today. I can't keep up. I saw a mention of naked bike racing, and I don't even want to know what that's about!!!

I wish we could stay at DL for a few days after the cruise, but between the extra expense and the lack of vacation time for most of the group, we'll be headed back on Sunday.

I have been trying to figure out a way to get some In N Out burgers though... we're planning to take the disney transportation, but I can't go to California and NOT get a double double!!
